Azaroth stared at the Hound then at Evernight. "What exactly is going on?" He demanded.

Evernight shrugged. "I brought out an experiment meat. What, do you mind?"

Azaroth stared at Hound. "No. You should just have warned me before that’s all."

Evernight laughed and clapped. "You said you wanted poof and here is it."

Azaroth shrugged. "This is not for all I know you might have planned this with the Hound before."

Evernight said nothing, only stared at Azaroth.

Azaroth raised his brows. "You don’t think I believe you are the only spy working here?"

Evernight hummed then spoke. "I am the only spy here....the only spy that came...from my side."

Azaroth didn’t believe him one bit but he asked. "And where’s your side?"

Evernight giggle. "Oh! You’ll make a great spy Azaroth! But I am the greater one now. I won’t be telling you my side."

Azaroth frowned. He knew he would be caught but there was no harm in trying. "Why though?"

"Why what?" Evernight asked.

"Why are you the only one sent?" Azaroth didn’t believe him but he must tried as he had been doing since morning to get any information from Evernight.

"Because I am enough," Evernight said simply.

Azaroth was silent then and he stared at Evernight. Wondering, what type of man he is. The one that laughed at unfunny things, the dramatic man, or the calculated spy.

How powerful was he to say, ’I am enough’

Azaroth felt his heart beat faster like a long-forgotten drum. This man isn’t like his father who was powerless and filled with fear. Evernight had power and he knew how to use it.

Since Azaroth had decided to go on with the deal he had to put one leg in. Just one leg because he knew Evernight would betray him the next minute if it went in line with his interest.

Azaroth and Evernight started at each other, not as powerful and as twelve-year-old boys but as two men who wanted to strike a deal and knew that one would betray the other if their interest was on the line.

Azaroth smirked and kicked the sleeping Hound. "How are you doing it then?"

Evernight’s flower eyes glowed a deep pink, casting his smiling mask in shadow, he bent over the Hound and knocked gently on the mask.

"The mask is a masterpiece. Any form of disobedience is been strongly repressed and their free will is dead, so are most of their emotions." Evernight mumbled and turned the sleeping Hound to face upright.

"Why did they do it?" Azaroth asked. It’s not like the Inferno Legion doesn’t have huge numbers of willing volunteers for their forces.

"Rebellion! When the Inferno Legion started their power expansion they faced serious pushback in the form of rebellion, the more they killed and destroyed the more the rebellion grew, and what better way to add to your fighting force and stop future rebels than to turn all of them to zombie?" Evernight said.

Azaroth shook his head. The Inferno Legion was undoubtedly evil but he couldn’t help but be impressed by their strategy. "But I thought they wielded economic power first and foremost?"

Evernight snorted. "Yes. They trade with armies behind them. They weren’t always this powerful but well, the signs were there and now they ruled all of East Doomhaven."

"They weren’t always part of the Five Great Clans?" Azaroth asked. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

"They were. Being part of the Five Great Clans isn’t about the amount of territory you can control. It all depends on the Awakening rank of the leader of the clan." Evernight said.

That was news to Azaroth he had always thought it all depends on the amount of territory you control. Does that mean anyone can be a Great Clan if they reach the level of advancement as other Clan leaders? Vacuum filled it away.

Evernight shrugged. "A lot of politics to be had of course but that’s the gist of it. Now, let’s attend to our guest."

Evernight’s finger glowed and he wrote something in the air then pointed at Azaroth. "I’m making you a disguise."

Leaves appeared and swarmed Azaroth’s face, they covered it and molded to his face, and they hardened and changed colors.

Azaroth touched his face and felt the mask that now covered it, a strand of his hair brushed his face and he saw that his hair had changed color to brown.

"Well, this is a little strange. I don’t feel like anything is on my face but my hand tells me I’m touching a mask." Azaroth said.

"That’s how powerful an illusion can be!" Evernight said.

Evernight gestured again and the Hound jerked on the floor as if he was in shock, he bolted upright his hand going to his waist.

"What? Where....am I?" The Hound stammered then flinched as Evernight crouched beside him.

"You are fine. Breath. Breath." Evernight whispered.

The Hound shook his head and hurriedly stood up, backing away from them, he was pretty smart because he put it together pretty quick. "Do you know this is an offense? Kidnapping a Hound! And you are a Hound yourself!"

The Hound stretched out his hand and a huge fireball bloomed, hovering above his hand. "Stop now and maybe Captain Kael will give you a low punishment or I will burn you to crips."

"No, you will not," Evernight said calmly, his flower eyes staring at the Hound flatly.

Azaroth watched as a scroll popped in front of Evernight and floated just above his head. Evernight took the scroll and tore it, the scroll burned with a mixture of blue and green fire, the ashes didn’t fall but slowly arranged into words.

The words then blasted towards the Hounds and disappeared inches from his waving hands. "What are you doing?" The Hound backed away, his fireball wavering.

The Hound tensed, ready to launch his fire when Evernight spoke. "Stop."

The word fell like a hammer and Hound jerked to a stop, hands stretched forward awkwardly.

"Cancel your skill," Evernight ordered.

The fireball snuffed off.

"How are you doing that?" Azaroth asked, fascinated as he watched the Hound still as a statue.

"It’s called hacking. I override his enchantment with another one. Now I can command him." Evernight said.

So that’s what happened with the scroll that burned. Azaroth thought. "Why don’t you just use this to turn chaos in East Haven?"

"Because one scroll is for one Hound and to create one scroll will take massive resources. Also, the Hounds mask comes with a defensive mechanism in case of this." Evernight pointed at the Hound.

Glowing red words appeared on the mask and the whole thing glowed red, smoke started coming from the it as it cracked, sounding like burning wood.

Evernight moved towards Azaroth just as the Hound exploded.
