I Have a Wealth Gathering Array
Chapter 533: Qin Yun Without Legal Status
After packing up the leftovers, Qin Yun held Little Yu Leyao’s hand and walked toward the place she’d mentioned.
But before they’d gone far, Yu Leyao suddenly looked toward one spot.
"Ring toss?"
Qin Yun looked over; there was a small crowd gathered there.
Ring toss had already been popular more than ten years ago, and right now the ground was covered with lots of little toys.
"Leyao, which little toy do you like? Big Brother will toss a ring and get it for you, okay?" Qin Yun smiled at the little girl.
"Okay!" Hearing that, Little Yu Leyao instantly said happily, "I want that little bunny." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Just now Qin Yun had hit the jackpot in one go and taken her to eat all kinds of tasty food; now she admired him a lot, and felt sure getting the little bunny would be easy for Qin Yun, without the slightest doubt.
And just as she’d imagined, Qin Yun spent fifty cents on a ring and directly hooked the little bunny toy.
"Thank you, Big Brother." Holding the little bunny toy, Little Yu Leyao said happily.
"Let’s go." Qin Yun chuckled.
The two of them walked in one direction; after about seven or eight minutes, they finally arrived somewhere.
This was clearly not where Professor Zhao and Yu Leyao would be living fifteen years later. The houses here were very run-down, just very ordinary private homes.
In 2010, Jinling obviously hadn’t developed yet. There were still a lot of private houses, not so many high-rises, but low buildings, one household squeezed next to another.
Walking in the narrow alleys, you could even hear the crowing of roosters and barking of dogs.
"Big Brother, my house is just up ahead." Little Yu Leyao pointed ahead as she spoke.
When they got there, the door of the house was still open.
And as soon as they arrived, Qin Yun could also hear intense arguing.
"Yu Jiancheng, you’re the one who said divorce—if you’ve got the guts, don’t go back on it this time!" a shrill voice shouted.
As soon as the words landed, another furious voice rang out: "We’ll go to the Civil Affairs Bureau tomorrow!"
"Fine! Tianzhi is coming with me! I only want my son." That shrill voice said.
The furious voice likewise said, "Jing will stay with me."
While they were arguing, there were still two children in the house—a girl about ten, and a boy of three. Right now they were crying inside the room.
Even standing outside the door, Qin Yun could hear them.
And hearing their words, Little Yu Leyao’s face once more showed a look of loss. She was wearing a too-large, shabby piece of clothing, head lowered, staring at her toes.
At this moment Qin Yun finally understood why Yu Leyao had always had a bad relationship with her parents Yu Jiancheng and Feng Min, why Little Yu Leyao kept saying before that her dad and mom didn’t want her anymore.
In the house right now were Yu Jiancheng and Feng Min, only they looked much younger. As for the two children, judging from what Qin Yun knew, they should be Yu Leyao’s older sister Yu Jing and younger brother Yu Tianzhi.
Yu Jiancheng and Feng Min were quarreling furiously. They glanced at the doorway and saw Yu Leyao and Qin Yun standing by her side, but they immediately withdrew their gazes.
Judging from the time, Yu Leyao had only been out for a short while; in their eyes she’d just gone out to play for a bit, nothing serious.
They were in the middle of a heated argument and had no mind to spare for Yu Leyao, nor did they intend to put their attention on her.
Seeing how dejected Little Yu Leyao looked, Qin Yun squatted down and said softly, "Leyao, remember what I told you before?"
"Yeah." Hearing Qin Yun ask, Yu Leyao said in a low voice, "Big Brother said there are people who like Leyao too."
"That’s right, so don’t be sad." Qin Yun smiled.
"Leyao!"
Just then, a woman around fifty suddenly ran over from the distance. There was clearly a trace of anxiety on her face. Seeing Yu Leyao, she hurriedly ran up.
Seeing the woman, the little girl broke free from Qin Yun’s hand and ran over, calling out, "Grandma."
"Oh my, my little darling, where did you run off to? Grandma has been looking all over outside and couldn’t find you." At this time, fifty-year-old Professor Zhao picked up Little Yu Leyao and couldn’t help scolding her a bit.
"Grandma, Big Brother took me to eat." Little Yu Leyao wrapped her arms around Professor Zhao’s neck and said.
Professor Zhao looked toward Qin Yun and said gratefully, "Thank you for bringing Leyao back."
"It’s nothing." Qin Yun smiled.
He looked at Little Yu Leyao and said with a smile, "Leyao, you have to smile more from now on, don’t be sad. In the future there’ll definitely be more and more people who like you. Big Brother still has things to do, so I’ll go first."
Seeing that Qin Yun was about to leave, the little girl wriggled out of her grandma’s arms, hurriedly ran to Qin Yun’s side, looked up and asked, "Big Brother, if you go, will you still come to see me?"
"Yeah, I will." Qin Yun squatted down, rubbed Little Yu Leyao’s head, and smiled.
He waved his hand and strode off into the distance.
The little girl watched Qin Yun’s back as he left and couldn’t help shouting, "Big Brother, don’t forget me, okay? You have to come back to see me!"
In this short time, Qin Yun had saved her, taken her to eat lots of delicious food, let her know that many people would like her, and then brought her safely home.
At this moment, the image of Qin Yun had already been planted deep in Yu Leyao’s young heart, impossible to forget.
"Okay." Qin Yun smiled, and finally left completely.
Little Yu Leyao stood by her grandma’s side, watching Qin Yun leave, and stood there for a long, long time.
...
Walking down the street, Qin Yun was quietly thinking about what he should do next.
"How do I deal with the problem of my identity?" Qin Yun thought to himself.
He had suddenly appeared in this slice of space-time, which meant that before this he had left no trace of life in this world at all.
The Qin Yun of this timeline was only five years old, so for him as the future Qin Yun, in other people’s eyes, Qin Yun had no parents or relatives, no familiar social ties, no record of long-term residence anywhere.
He didn’t even have any records of short-term residence.
In other words, Qin Yun was effectively a black household, and getting a household registration would be very difficult.
According to Hua Country’s "Opinion on Solving the Household Registration of People Without Hukou," the problem of black households could more or less be resolved.
But that required the neighborhood office where you lived, your direct parents, and the hospital where you were born to issue relevant certificates; at the very least, it had to prove that Qin Yun had a parent-child relationship with some citizen of Hua Country, or that he was born in Hua Country, so that the registration could be processed.
Of course, Qin Yun had none of that.
Right now, his only way to get a hukou was probably to say he came out of some deep mountain area and had no relatives, and so on.
Of course, if he really said that, he might have to stay at the police station for a while.
Hua Country was very strict about this. If a person with no previous records or relatives could just pop out of nowhere, say a name, and get a Hua Country ID card, then being a spy would be way too easy.
So, all things considered, Qin Yun’s identity problem really was hard to solve for the time being.
"Since it’s hard to solve, then I just won’t solve it for now." Qin Yun thought to himself.
