I Have Infinite Skill Points - Chapter 667 Yulia Arrives
"Indeed, these peaks are the stone scabbards of the Tianji Lock. If we find the method to unlock the Tianji Lock and reinsert these peaks back into the ground, we can solve this two-thousand-year-old mystery." π§πβ―ππππππ°π·π¦π.πΈβ΄π
"Are... you kidding me!" Wang Lan exclaimed, looking blankly at the surrounding towering peaks. Thinking that it would be as absurd to push these mountains back into place as it would be to install an elevator on Mount Everest or fill in the Pacific Ocean!
"I was as shocked as you are, but that's the truth."
"BRRING, BRRINGβ" His cellphone suddenly rang. Wang Lan took it out and saw it was Yulia.
"Hello, Yulia, what's up? Have you found Lucifer's whereabouts?"
"I'm about to arrive in Huzhou Province. Are you there?"
"Uh... you're coming to Huzhou? For what?"
"It's not convenient to discuss over the phone. Let's talk in detail after I land."
"Sure!"
"Yulia is coming? Could Lucifer have actually run off to Huzhou?" Jiang Xinyu asked doubtfully.
"It's very likely."
Recently, Yulia, leading the International Security Council, had mobilized global forces to search for Lucifer's whereabouts. Her sudden visit to Huzhou must have been related to Lucifer.
The two left Zhangjiajie and drove to Huzhou International Airport.
At two in the afternoon, the plane landed smoothly at Huzhou Airport. Yulia, with her blond hair, blue eyes, and stunning figure, walked out of the arrival area with several agents from the International Security Council.
In Huzhou, foreigners were still a rare sight, especially one of Yulia's caliber. She looked like a movie star stepping out of a film, picture-perfect and stunning.
As Yulia approached Wang Lan and Jiang Xinyu and took off her sunglasses, Wang Lan heard a chorus of sharp intakes of breath from behind him.
Yulia's beauty transcended conventional aesthetic standards. Even Wang Lan had been momentarily stunned when he first saw her; nearly everyone was captivated by her beauty upon first meeting.
Yulia extended her hand for a gentle handshake with Wang Lan, then gave Jiang Xinyu a light hug. "Long time no see."
"Not that long, only a few months."
"Let's go. We're heading to the Tianjian Bureau first," Wang Lan called out.
They got into their car. A convoy of eight sedans left the airport and, under police escort, quickly arrived at the Tianjian Bureau headquarters.
In the high-level meeting room of the Tianjian Bureau, Wang Lan, Jiang Xinyu, and Liu Yuxin met officially with Yulia and senior agents from the International Security Council.
"Wang Lan, after you left, the task of finding Lucifer has almost entirely fallen on me," Yulia said half-jokingly.
"Then I'm truly sorry. It just seems the more capable one is, the more work they get..."
"Last month, we found a significant Paradise Bird base," Yulia said, pulling out a stack of documents and several photos from her bag.
"Unfortunately, they were alerted to our operation beforehand, and the important personnel at this base evacuated in advance. The rest were either killed or captured by us. We also caught an S-class fugitive from Jade Country there, Sha Qiya."
"Sha Qiya?" Wang Lan exclaimed, his eyes wide. "Is she the one who made everyone in Paradise Bird engrave Skill Forms in their minds, making it impossible for us to extract information from them?"
"Yes, that's her. But she wasn't in good condition when we captured her. She had lost her mobility and could only use a wheelchair. Her illusory reality Skill Form is very strong; it can convert illusions into reality and vice versa."
"I put in a lot of effort to capture her and forced her to dispel the Skill Forms, which is how we obtained crucial intelligence."
"Lucifer was indeed at this base before. The person in charge was Paradise Bird's number three leader, Moses. But shortly before our arrival, both Moses and Lucifer had left, and Paradise Bird had no idea where they'd gone."
"After a month of investigation, we're almost certain that Moses came to Jade Country's Huzhou. Therefore, it's possible Lucifer also reached Huzhou Province."
"That's unfortunate news," Wang Lan said with a wry smile, shaking his head. He'd heard enough bad news lately; he almost didn't care if more disasters were on their way.
"So it seems... Lucifer is here for the Demon God's Blood," Wang Lan said gravely after a moment of thought.
"Demon God's Blood? What's that?"
"About ten thousand years ago, the Demon Clan fought a major battle with the Eastern Celestial Court here. Many Demon Gods perished, and their blood coalesced into a blood pool, which Lady Hou Tu of our Eastern Divine Realms sealed in a void space."
"However, two years ago, the blood pool reappeared and was located by the Demon Clan. Their plan is to use the Demon God's Blood to create a new Demon God. But there are two prerequisites to receive the Demon God's Blood. One is needing an exceptionally powerful body, one that is powerful to an extraordinary, even transcendent, degree. Second, one must willingly accept the Demon God's Blood without any resistance."
"The vessel they had prepared for the Demon God was captured by me, so they turned to Lucifer's body as an alternative. Lucifer's Angel's Body and his own goals make him a perfect fit."
"What? Create a Demon God?"
Yulia's expression immediately turned grim. "We must stop him. After all the effort it took to dethrone Lucifer, we cannot allow him to rise to his peak again."
"But the current issue is, where is Lucifer? Where is the Demon God's Blood? They've hidden themselves too well, and so far not a single trace has been revealed."
"Then let's search together. We'll look for Moses, while you search for that blood pool. We have to find them before Lucifer obtains the Demon God's Blood."
"Absolutely!"
Yulia and the Tianjian Bureau, belonging to two different systems, couldn't operate under a unified command. However, they could share intelligence and resources. If Yulia required anything, she only needed to submit a request to Wang Lan.
γThree days later,γ
A competent female operative came to Wang Lan's office. "Commander Wang Lan, River Wind Intelligence has important information."
"Oh? What is it?"
"Look!" She placed a photo in front of Wang Lan. "This person was one of our comrades at the Tianjian Bureau, but he died in the line of duty a few years ago. However, the Skynet System identified him in recent days."
"Are you sure it's him? Could it not be his twin brother?"
"Positive. The Skynet System can distinguish between twins. Moreover, this person's movements are highly suspicious; his appearances are very mysterious, and he vanishes just as enigmatically."
"Agents from the River Wind sub-bureau have attempted to capture him, but he's extremely cunning, disappearing without a trace each time."
"He still shows up even after being targeted by River Wind?" Wang Lan asked, puzzled.
"He continues to appear, just more covertly than before. He has avoided all surveillance cameras. Without the Skynet System, it would be impossible to discover him."
"Let's go. I'll go there personally."
Wang Lan knew he needed to personally verify this clue about a Demon Clan spy, whether it was true or not.
γHe set out in the morning and arrived at the River Wind sub-bureau by afternoon.γ
"Director Wu, hello."
"Commander Wang, I didn't expect you to come in person."
"Let's skip the pleasantries. What's the situation?"
"He hasn't appeared in two days. We might have been too vigilant and scared him off, Commander Wang. I must admit, I may have acted too rashly."
"Never mind that for now. What does he do every time he appears?"
"He buys food. The locations of his appearances and disappearances vary each time, so we can't pinpoint his residence." As Director Wu spoke, he clicked on the screen behind him, and over a dozen red dots appeared on the map.
"What are these red dots?"
"These are locations where he appeared and was identified by the Skynet System. Most of the time, he kept himself hidden, so we don't know where he went. We only found out he'd bought food and water by following his tracks."
"Moreover, he usually appears before eight in the morning and disappears before five in the afternoon."
Wang Lan tapped the desk, deep in thought. "How much food does he buy?"
"He buys a little from one shop, a bit more from another. It seems to be a considerable amount in total," Director Wu replied.
"Could he be buying food for companions?" Wang Lan mused aloud.
"What a cunning fellow! Why doesn't he just order takeout?" one of the intelligence officers complained.
"I've located their positions many times through takeout orders in the past," Director Wu explained. "So these Demon Clan spies have gotten smart; they don't dare order takeout anymore."
"He reveals too little information, and his movements in such a vast area show no pattern. Sometimes he even crosses the entire city! Even with a powerful tool like the Skynet System, it's not much use," another agent lamented.
"Wait a second!"
Inspiration struck Wang Lan. He suddenly seemed to have an idea and quickly said, "Show me the data from his first sighting."
The technicians immediately worked on the computers. All other red dots vanished, leaving only two. These two points weren't his appearance or disappearance locations, but rather places where his traces had been found during that first sighting.
"Use the transportation network to connect these two points."
"There are ten routes in total."
"Connect them all."
"Understood!" Quickly, ten routes appeared on the map displayed on the screen.
"Now, do the same for the points from the second sighting."
Following Wang Lan's commands, more and more routes connecting these points appeared on the map. In an instant, a dense web of lines covered the entire display. However, these lines clearly showed points of frequent intersection.
"Extract the location where the lines intersect the most."
The technicians worked furiously on the computers. Soon, the point with the highest number of intersecting lines was identified. Looking at this intersection point, most people were unsure of its significance, but a few had sudden realizations and looked at Wang Lan with admiration.
The Intelligence Chief explained, "Commander Wang truly lives up to his name. Brilliant, simply brilliant! When he goes out to buy food, he has to take it back to their hideout. The places he's seen appearing or disappearing aren't necessarily the hideout itself. But no matter his travel path, it must pass through or near their hideout. Therefore, the point where the routes overlap the most must be the location of their nest!"
After hearing the Intelligence Chief's explanation, the special agents who had been confused also showed expressions of sudden understanding.
"It's a good thing River Wind City isn't a sprawling metropolis like Modu City, and the population isn't as dense," someone remarked. "There's only one residential complex at this intersection point."
"The rest should be easy," another agent added. "The Demon Clan spies must have rented accommodations there, and there are likely several of them. We can secretly contact the landlords of rental properties in that complex to narrow down the search."
"Then what are you waiting for? If you know what to do, get to it!" the Intelligence Chief barked, slapping the agent who had just spoken on the back of his head. The intelligence department immediately sprang into action.
As everyone else got busy, personnel at the River Wind intelligence headquarters diligently served tea and water to Wang Lan and Director Wu.
"Truly worthy of being called the Demon Clan's Nemesis," Director Wu said with admiration. "Faced with such a tangled mess of seemingly intractable intelligence, you found the key breakthrough so quickly."
