I Married the President
Chapter 257: So Impolite
Claire Sinclair slept for a long time.
She hadn’t slept that soundly in ages. When she woke up, she found herself leaning against an unfamiliar chest, smelling a strange yet pleasant cologne.
Reality came crashing back. She quickly pulled away, her face flushing as she apologized, "I’m so sorry, Your Highness Prince Hale! I can’t believe I fell asleep. That was so rude of me. I’m sorry!"
Little Prince Hale smiled and said, "It’s all right. I don’t blame you."
"Um..." Claire Sinclair cautiously looked up, meeting his blue eyes. "President Lockwood asked me to show you around. Are you hungry?"
’He said it was all right, but who knows if he’ll tattle on me when he sees President Lockwood?’
’Looks like I’ll have to bribe him with food...’
Little Prince Hale smiled. "I am a little hungry. What’s good to eat around here?"
"There’s lots of delicious food. Was there anything you wanted to try before you came?"
Little Prince Hale thought for a long while before saying in accented Mandarin, "I want to eat thirteen-spice crayfish."
Claire Sinclair: "!!!"
’Who the hell taught him about thirteen-spice crayfish? Is it really appropriate for the prince of a nation to be eating crayfish???’
Little Prince Hale quickly explained, "Your older sister told me. She said I absolutely had to try thirteen-spice crayfish when I came to Astoria."
’So it was my sister...’
She and her sister had completely different personalities, but they shared many of the same tastes.
For example, their palates were almost identical.
Thirteen-spice crayfish was her sister’s favorite, too. When they were little, the two of them would often sneak off to the river to catch crayfish, but whenever they brought them home, their father would usually take them to eat with his drinks.
It was a tearful memory. Thirteen-spice crayfish was truly the only way to make up for the regrets of her childhood.
Claire Sinclair said with a wide smile, "It’s still early. Crayfish tastes best at night. I’ll take you to eat something else first, and then we can go do something fun. Is there anywhere you’d like to go?"
"I’d like to see where you work. Mr. Quincy told me you’re a reporter now."
"Sure! Then let’s go eat first. My treat!"
"Thank you."
And so, Claire Sinclair took Little Prince Hale to a restaurant specializing in Aethelgard-style cuisine, letting him experience the local favorites.
After they had eaten and drunk their fill, their next stop was the Astoria Daily.
Since it was still working hours, Claire Sinclair didn’t dare just bring him over. As soon as she got in the car, she sent a message to Teacher Hartwell on WeChat: Teacher Hartwell, Little Prince Hale said he wants to come see our newspaper office. Please have everyone get ready.
She waited for a long time, but there was no response.
Just as she was about to call him, Little Prince Hale suddenly spoke up. "Little Cutie, can I add you on WeChat?"
’There’s that "Little Cutie" again...’
Claire Sinclair couldn’t remember how that nickname started, but she couldn’t risk upsetting her guest, so she could only bear it in silence. "You use WeChat, too?"
"A lot of young people in my country use it. WeChat is a very interesting social media platform."
"Okay, I’ll scan your code."
The two of them added each other on WeChat.
Little Prince Hale was a great conversationalist and always had something to talk about in the car.
Claire Sinclair was busy keeping up with him, but she kept feeling like she had forgotten something. She couldn’t quite remember what it was, and eventually, she decided not to worry about it.

「At the Astoria Daily Press.」
Her colleagues were all buried in their work, rushing to meet deadlines. The atmosphere was tense.
Just then, a lavishly dressed Phoebe Lockwood suddenly walked in from outside.
She had just returned from the airport. Although she had only gone to see Little Prince Hale’s private jet land, that was enough for her to show off for a bit. After all, no one knew she hadn’t actually met him.
