I Own the Evolution Domain
Chapter 130: Impressive New Resources
’It’s more than enough to go for today...’ Novus remarked as he inspects the amount of E Tier Evolution Crystal that he acquired during his hunt, securing him a number that can help him continue improving his strength for the entire time he is restricted from accessing the Evolution again.
[Storage Space]
[E Tier Evolution Crystal (576)]
[D Tier Evolution Crystal (209)]
[Slime Substrate (Amber Slime) (5,297)]
[Slime Substrate (Shadow Slime) (3,539)]
[Slime Substrate (Toxic Slime) (359)]
[Slime Substrate (Golden Slime) (34)]
[Wolf Fang (78)]
[Goblin’s Eye (61)]
[Malleable Amber (837)]
[Liquid Shadow (598)]
[Safe Poison (38)]
[Slimy Gold Dust (3)]
[Dark Claw (17)]
[Goblin’s Heart (21)]
Still, what comes off as more of a surprise to him is the fact that his collection of D Tier Evolution Crystal already went past a hundred even though he has yet to actually reach the D Tier.
"I’ve really grown stronger..." he laughed confidently to himself as he recalls how difficult it was for him to fight against E Tier creatures, as well as to truly win over them to collect E Tier crystals, back when he was at the F Tier.
Now that he reached E Tier however, the amount of higher quality Evolution Crystals he can harvest increases, making him feel certain of the fact that he had not only progressed through the stages of being a mage, but also, he had grown the foundations of his strength way more than anyone else.
And thus, this foundation allows him to stand his ground against beings who are of higher tier of strength than himself.
After taking a bit of accomplishment from this fact, he then returns to focus as he begins scanning through the new resources that he had obtained from hunting down both the Goblins and the Ebony Direwolves, a faint smile appearing on his face as the descriptions of each new items was revealed.
[Wolf Fang]
[A sharp material condensed from the death of an Ebony Direwolf called fang due to its close resemblance to the creature’s cuspid.
Can be used to craft weapons with edges that can inflict laceration and hinder the clotting of blood.]
[Dark Claw]
[Shadow elemental mana imbued claws of the Ebony Direwolves, possess an extremely sharp and tough properties.
Can be used to craft weapons that slightly improves the wielder’s shadow elemental affinity. If the quality of the weapon produced is great, there is a slight chance that the weapon crafted will be completed with a Minor Concealment skill imbued.]
Looking at the two materials dropped by the Ebony Direwolves he had hunted, Novus felt like he should pay more attention to crafting more than ever before, the fact that materials he can use to create weapons are already appearing in the Evolution Domain making him interested in the subject matter as well.
Although it sure is a pleasant harvest, most of the surprise doesn’t come from the weapon crafting materials, as the ones he had harvested from the Goblins appears all the more attractive of a harvest for him.
This thought holds especially true for the rarer resource drop of the gray-skinned humanoids.
[Goblin’s Eye]
[A spherical, white object condensed from the death of a Goblin. Consumable.
After consumption, greatly improves the sense’s performance for two minutes. Also slightly increase the senses’ performance permanently.]
[Note: The temporary boost effect only works for individuals of D Tier below, and the permanent effect of consuming Goblin’s Eye disappears after the thousandth dose.]
[Goblin’s Heart]
[Red, flesh-like substance condensed from the vital energy of a Goblin after its death. Consumable, can be used as a potion reagent.
When directly consumed, greatly recover an injured body’s vitality. It also provides a slight improvement of talent and talent mastery if the consumer possesses a vitality-related talent.]
[Note: For each tier above the D Tier, both the immediate healing effect and the permanent talent improvement diminishes by a tenth of the original.]
If there was one thought that is going on in Novus’ mind right now, it is the fact that the Goblin’s resources seem to be tailor made for the improvement of his abilities, the Goblin’s Eye alone being something that will help further improve his Sensory Expansion, albeit having a limit for the permanent improvement he can receive from it.
What is even more baffling than this consumable is the rare resource of the Goblin, their heart, the description alone making Novus certain that this is definitely something that anyone in the world will kill to get their hands on, after all, materials for potions that can greatly recover vitality is as rare as is can get.
It is to the point that searching for main materials like this is as difficult as finding a single needle in a haystack, but the needle is twice as small as usual and the haystack spans as vast as a sea.
’Perhaps I should also try my luck on alchemy sometimes...’ he thought to himself as he wonders what sort of riches he can acquire selling potions made from Goblin’s Heart, however, he immediately put those thoughts away for now.
The danger of being capable of creating something expensive that others cannot, in other words, creating treasures, is the least of his concerns as everyone knew what sort of terrifying existence the Argenta Family is, and being their heir means that he is protected by their greatest mages, whether he is aware of their existence or not.
Rather than worrying for his safety, it is his greed for development that stops him from utilizing these rare resources as materials for potion-making alchemy, after all, he is not even a beginner at this subject matter meaning that by trying alchemy out, he will just waste the Goblin’s Heart more likely than not.
Hence why he opts to just consume it directly later, to further improve his talent that allows him to go this far fighting against beings of higher tier than himself, his talent that he had already deemed as one of the cores of his battle prowess.
"Before them though, I should push my strength first..."
Choosing to delay trying out the effects of both Goblin’s Eye and Goblin’s Heart, Novus focused his attention on the E Tier Evolution Crystal he had harvested, its amount more than what he can absorb within a single day.
’I’ll try aiming for the limits of my body for the E Tier...’ he set a little goal for himself as he takes out not only several hundreds of E Tier Evolution Crystal, but a familiar, liquid gold-like substance as well.
[Slimy Gold Dust]
[The king of the slime’s pulverized core. Consumable.
When consumed, increase the rate of Evolution Energy Absorption by 200% for 1 hour.]
In fact, Novus truly wanted to try using the D Tier Evolution Crystals he had harvested, however, feeling that he might need a lot of them for his breakthrough to the D Tier, he chooses to save it for now, taking a gulp of the Slimy Gold Dust as he closes his eyes, entering deep meditation in no time at all.
[Your talent: True Immortal Blood is being refined. +0.0005% progress, +0.5 maximum Immortal Energy.]
[Your physique has grown. +1 strength, +1 agility, +1 vitality.]
[You sense all sort of energy clearer than before. +1 arcane.]
[Your body and soul seem to grow closer. +1 harmony.]
