Chapter 68: Domain Expansion Strikes Again

"Dimensional Dust. The highest grade you have."

Quash said without hesitation. He had already decided what he wanted after careful consideration. And Dimensional Dust is the best choice since it is a key ingredient for creating Magi Paint.

Dimensional Dust dictates the durability, quality and capacity of the Magi Circuits. He just needs very High Grade Spirit Water, and a skilled Alchemist to make the Paint.

He already knew where to get the two. But good quality Dimensional Dust was the only problem. Since this Dust can only be found in a space where Dimensional Walls are grinding against each other. It is not a place he could visit, or locate at his current level.

The low grade ones in the market are mostly artificial. Created by a mage who specialised in space magic, grinding space against each other in an extremely Natural Energy dense place. So that the Natural Energy will be sucked into the dust that would allow it to be collected.

After hearing his demand, the warden hmmed and went to his desk to write something.

Quash looked around and found himself standing inside a white room, so white that the edges almost seemed invisible.

There was a giant gate with various decorations carved on it. The frame looked like it was made out of gold. Except for the single wheel table, there was nothing here.

"Were you affected too?"

Quash suddenly asked Gabriella. Who stood there without moving an inch. She turned to him, her expression hadn’t changed much but confusion was evident.

"Never mind. How long have I been spacing out for?"

"... Around 30 seconds?"

She said and tilted her head, she looked unsure.

"It hasn’t been that long, huh... that old man went easy huh. Or did the warden get too impatient?"

He wondered out loud softly. He noticed the warden coming to him, he was three heads taller than Quash. But it was fine.

Short lives matter.

"Here."

The warden spread his hand and a sphere of light appeared, surrounded by two golden rings orbiting around it. It was the size of a baseball while the bead of light was the size of a pigeon egg.

The sphere of white light is the Dimensional Dust. And this is the reason why spatial equipments are needed.

"What Grade is this?"

"Legendary Grade."

"Holy!"

Quash took the sphere without a second thought. He was all smiles. He truly lucked out. With this, he could potentially say goodbye to his worry of ever running out of space for his Magi or his Magi Circuits breaking.

He stored it inside his Spatial Ring and was ready to be sent out without any drama.

When!

"Hmm? What’s your name kid?"

The warden asked. Quash looked at him a bit confused. Because people at the warden’s level could see more than meets the eye. A person’s [History] was one of them. So it shouldn’t be that the warden couldn’t see his name, right?

"What do you mean? Can’t you "see"?"

At Quash’s question, the warden’s bushy eyebrow lifted and a blazing red eye was staring at him, a bit stunned.

"... Did he tell you that?"

"Who?"

"Randolf."

"Huh? You know my cheap grandfather?"

"Yes."

"How?"

"He is my acknowledged big brother. We are sworn brothers. And Saffron is one of them. But..."

Quash felt that the warden was withholding information. But that wasn’t the point. This warden in front of him was the previous Vampire King and Gabriella’s grandfather. He was from Saffron Fruma’s era. And he says his thousand-year-old grandpa is his big brother?

"Wait..."

"Looks like you’re not that bad. Instead of denying, you started looking for logic. As expected of his grandson. But I will ask again Brat, what’s your name?"

Quash couldn’t help but sigh. The reason he had thought his grandparents were over 1000 years old is because of their birth certificates. It dated back to over a thousand years. When the Digitalisation Era started. They never actually said that it was their real age.

And it seemed like his heritage was more profound than he had thought.

"... Are they still alive?"

"No."

The warden said, his voice felt the same as before but Quash could feel the sadness in there.

"And my name is Quash Ogmore."

"Quash Ogmore...huh. What do you think of my granddaughter?"

"Hmm?"

The warden suddenly brought in Gabriella, who was watching this strange interaction between her grandfather and grandson of his sworn brother she has never heard about.

She felt a bit bewildered when brought up. Quash scanned her with his scrutinizing gaze. That was different from all the males she had ever met, they didn’t hold lust, ambition or.. anything in that matter. Which had piqued her interest.

But the situation had shifted and the atmosphere was not something she could describe.

"Mmm... she’s nice?"

"What the hell is with that uncertainty brat!? Is my granddaughter not the most beautiful?!"

The warden barked and punched Quash at the back of his head. Quash felt bells ringing in his head but he felt the grab once again and his mind was put back into place.

"How about you take her as your wife?"

"Huh? Sure. Why not?"

Quash said without a moment of consideration. Which made the grandfather and granddaughter duo a bit stunned.

"You’re agreeing just like that? Aren’t modern kids supposed to hesitate over stuff like this? Saying stuff like they don’t know each other or love each other?"

The warden asked. Gabriella also nodded. Quash scratched the back of his head in confusion.

"Why would I hesitate? I mean, isn’t that the whole point of arranged marriage? Where your elders choose for you? And besides, as you said, she is indeed the most beautiful. I would be a fool to pass on such an offer."

There was a moment of silence before the warden opened his mouth again.

"What if she is bratty?"

At that question, a greasy and shady look appeared on Quash’s face.

"I can fix her."

He whispered with a smile.

"BHUAHAHAA!!! AS EXPECTED!!! YOU REALLY ARE HIS GRANDSON!! BOTH HAVE SOME SCREWS LOOSE!! I LIKE YOU!! Gabriella. Do you mind?"

"What about father?"

"He will accept whatever I decide."

"Then I don’t mind either."

Gabriella said after a moment of consideration.

"Then I have a fiancé now? Or am I married? Should we kiss to seal the deal?"

Quash asked while scratching his cheek. He now wondered if Eleanor was some kind of Diviner or something. Did she feel the romantic relationship even before it happened?

"No. Let her suck you."

"Huh!?" Σ(゚Д゚;)

"...Your blood."

"Oh." (゜_゜;)

Quash: "..."

Gabriella: "..."

The Warden, a.k.a the grandfather-in-law: "..."
