Chapter 80: Skill Tree Orb Hall

In the afternoon, Quash finally left Gabriella’s house for now. If he needed to get things done, he couldn’t just be with her all the time. They had their whole lives ahead of them.

There was plenty of time. Right now, he was going to the Skill Tree Orb Hall. The public one, since he hadn’t been admitted to an academy yet and couldn’t use theirs.

Quash noticed that there were far fewer people than yesterday. The Academy City was completely closed, and now only students remained. A strange kind of excitement started welling up inside him. A small smile involuntarily formed on his face.

He quickly made his way to the Skill Tree Orb Hall. There weren’t many students in that area now, so he was able to get in quickly. Quash entered a room which had an intricate formation literally carved into the ground.

It was so complex that it looked like ancient Mayan civilization wall engravings to him.

The formation was circular with the Skill Tree Orb at the center. The Orb was a transparent crystal that looked like any other cheap divination tool used by fake diviners, who just rub it for dramatic effect.

One needs to have a high knowledge of artifacts to distinguish between a normal crystal ball and a Skill Tree Orb.

And Quash certainly wasn’t one. He walked up to the crystal ball, and as instructed, he placed his hand on top of it.

The ball was smooth and cold.

Vmmm~~.

The moment he did, the whole room lit up with an audible sound. The blank formations on the ground now emitted white light.

Quash looked at all of this in amazement. His status window appeared without him commanding it, but it had different letters written on it.

[Status Window Updating...]

Quash waited for a few moments for the update to finish.

[Status Window Update Complete.]

[Class Change Stone Detected.]

[Analysing Achievements...]

[Accessing World Archive...]

[Data Retrieval Successful.]

[Analysis Complete.]

[Viewing Options.]

[Class Evolution Options]

[???]

??? (Currently Inaccessible)

[Return To Origin - Knight]

Mythic Grade (Class Evolution Threshold Not Met)

[Aura Sovereign]

Legendary Grade (Class Evolution Threshold Not Met)

[Knight]

Uncommon Grade (Class Evolution Threshold Not Met)

"Woah..."

Quash read the Class Evolution Options and was he surprised~.

Not really. He expected it. All his achievements were summarized into three classes. The first one was something he knew about because, in the novel, Alan had also gotten this class as an evolution option once, when he was nearing level 700 or something after getting tons of achievements.

This class is a series, known as the Return to Origin Series. Every major class has one.

Mage, Archer, Summoner, Blacksmith... and other classes have this class as well. Basically, once one chooses this class, they will get access to all the overpowered skills throughout the history of that class. But getting it is hard.

The Return to Origin class is the ultimate cheat code for speedrunning to the top. Or so it would seem, but in the novel, Alan and his companions still got their asses handed to them and he died in that timeline.

It means there is always someone stronger. As for Aura Sovereign, he had no idea, but it was probably something to do with his control over his Aura.

He didn’t even want to think about the question mark class. He just noted that it confirmed his theory that he had some overpowered bloodline.

Even after seeing such overpowered classes, Quash wasn’t particularly interested in them because he had more or less secured the ultimate DPS as his wife. So there was no need for him to go out of his way to get stronger anyway.

But he couldn’t change into them now because his level was too low. Class Evolution only happens at Level 25.

Before that, there’s no way for one to evolve their class.

But he wasn’t here for that; he was here for the Class Change Options. One can change to any class they want and become eligible to learn skills of that class. But not many do this because too many skills can create problems, and too much of anything is not good.

No matter how good that thing may be. Each skill that is learned from a skill book has a certain spiritual weight. And if a person learns skills from skill books way beyond what they can take, they will either go crazy or suddenly drop dead.

But besides that, if they stayed within the limit, one could even exploit the system because some skills of different classes might complement other classes.

Like the Precision Skill of the Archer class. It is a skill that increases... precision, basically.

And Quash was after this skill because it would help him in crafting small but important things.

Almost every student of the crafting paths in the Academy City knows this, and they try their best to get precision skills.

It is also recommended by professionals. Quash accessed the Class Change Options and selected the Archer class. The light in the room intensified and the air inside the room stirred violently. The Orb glowed in multiple colours. A stream of light started to climb through his hand, illuminating his veins. He watched in amazement because the light didn’t emit any heat whatsoever. All it felt like was a slight tension inside his veins.

The light quickly made its way through his hands, shoulder, neck, and face to his glabella.

Quash saw all white for a moment before his vision turned to normal. He looked around and saw that the violent wind had subdued and the formation lights had returned to normal.

He was about to take his hand off the Orb when he remembered that he had Skill Fusion available.

So he thought of that, and the Status Window in front of him changed.

[Skill Fusion Available]

[Tri-Sword Formation Master Lv.10]

Common Grade

[Flowing Water Footwork Technique Master Lv.10]

Common Grade

[Would you like to Fuse?]

"Yes."

With Quash’s prompt, the same phenomenon happened once again. When the light reached his glabella again, he saw white once more. But this was no standing in a white void; in front of him were two small beads of light. One was slightly blue and the other was silver.

They suddenly slammed into each other and started convulsing. After a while, a new bead of light was born; it was bigger than the previous two and had a red hue to it. And after that, Quash’s vision returned once again.

He realised he had just seen the merging of two concepts, which wasn’t something one would be able to see at his level.

But who cares about minor stuff? After the fusion was done, the information of the new skill was sent to his mind directly, and he couldn’t help but smile.

After that, Quash left the Skill Tree Orb Hall, and his next destination was a Skill Book Shop.
