Chapter 499: Chapter 499: The Prince’s First Shock in Life

The first time Evan met a dragon was when he was over thirty years old, a little boy only as tall as an adult’s knee.

The Elf race all loved flowers and plants, and Evan was no exception. The boy frequently crossbred many novel flower varieties; around the treehouse where he lived, all kinds of flowers vied to show off their beauty, never fading.

That year, Evan wanted to find a new type of flower for his garden. He secretly evaded the guards and sneaked outside alone. Walking almost to the end of the Elf forest, Evan still couldn’t find any novel flowers, and feeling a bit disappointed, he kicked away a small stone at his feet.

"Ouch, who threw that at me!"

A childish voice rang out, followed by a bright red head poking out.

It was a very pretty little girl with red hair, her eyes also sparkling like two rubies, only her forehead had a red patch, as if it had just been hit by something.

Evan felt guilty and lowered his head, unconsciously hiding the foot that had just caused trouble behind his back:

"You threw it at me, didn’t you? Speak, why did you suddenly attack me!"

The little girl jumped out of the grass; in terms of height, she was half a head shorter than Evan. The Elf race inherently loved beauty, and Evan was no exception. She had bright red hair, red eyes, her ears were also red and fan-shaped, and her clothes were red too; all the red gathered together to highlight her smooth, white skin, perfectly fitting the elves’ aesthetic taste.

Evan blushed, the tips of his pointed ears also tinged with a rosy pink, and he muttered:

"S-sorry, I didn’t mean to."

Moon tilted his head slightly to evaluate the little boy in front of him, and seeing Evan’s pointed ears, asked:

"Are you an Elf? Your Elf race actually dares to let a cub leave the Royal City?"

"I, I sneaked out."

The two children exchanged a few words and gradually became closer. Moon said to Evan:

"There are only so many types of flowers in this forest. I know a place with a very beautiful flower, but it’s a bit high up, I can’t fly up to it."

"Really? Can you take me with you?"

Moon tilted his head to think for a moment, then shook his head: "No, that place is the lair of an Evil Dragon; an Elf like you going in there will only end up dead."

Evan felt an itch in his heart, desperately wanting to see that strange flower, and pleaded:

"Then can we look from a distance? I want to see how beautiful it is."

Moon thought for another moment and said: "Alright, then follow me. Hold my hand tightly, don’t get lost."

Saying so, Moon led Evan toward the Dragon race’s territory, arriving at the foggy forest, the lair of the Evil Dragon. At this moment, both were lying prone in a bush, and Moon pointed out to Evan the flower he had mentioned:

"Look, on that cliff over there, that red plant, do you see it?"

Evan followed the direction Moon pointed and saw the target on the precarious cliff. It was a blood-red plant with small, long petals, tightly wrapping around each other layer by layer, its crystal-clear stamens trembling in the wind.

Evan’s blue eyes widened slightly, his pupils reflecting the enlarged image of that strange flower plant.

Right at this moment, a shadow fell over the two children, a scorching breath puffing right against the back of their necks. Moon and Evan froze, slowly turning their stiff necks to look behind, coming face-to-face with a pitch-black dragon.

Moon chuckled: "Oh my, greetings Lord Evil Dragon. We are just passing by, just passing by. Good afternoon to you."

He grabbed Evan’s hand and backed away, then screamed: "**RUN!**"

The two kids ran for their lives, a scorching wave of heat chasing closely behind them. Evan took the opportunity to cast Nature Magic to block it. However, he was merely an Elf cub; this meager bit of magic wasn’t even enough to fill the gaps in the Evil Dragon’s teeth.

Moon transformed into his beast form, grabbed Evan’s back, and used all his might to weave and fly past the large trees. Evan was shaken until he saw stars. Moon had to dodge the magic fire from behind while flying, and unable to brake in time, crashed into a tree trunk. Both children fell to the ground, hugging each other as they rolled down the slope.

Evan cast magic wildly, only hoping to summon a Nature Warrior. The Nature Warrior was nowhere to be seen, but fortunately, a soft vine bush, enhanced by the wood-element magic, quickly grew. Its branches wove together into a net, catching the two kids just in time before they fell off the cliff.

Although they had narrowly escaped death, if they didn’t leave immediately, the Evil Dragon would still find them. Moon used a claw to slash a line on his arm, and golden blood immediately flowed out; he was in so much pain that tears fell. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Using the blood to draw a spatial array on the cliff face, the moment the array was completed, Moon shouted:

"Hold on to me tightly!"

Evan immediately hugged Moon tightly. A red light flashed, and the two children disappeared right before a fireball zoomed past.

---

In another part of the foggy forest, a red light flashed, and two small figures, one red and one white, dropped into a thorny bush, their bodies getting scratched in several places.

Moon crawled out of the bush, muttering curses:

"Damn it, we escaped. I shouldn’t have agreed to bring you here."

Evan also crawled out, saying guiltily:

"I’m sorry, it’s my fault."

Moon waved his hand: "Forget it, we’re already here anyway. Let’s scram quickly; it’ll be dangerous if it finds its way here."

The two children supported each other as they headed back toward the dense Elf forest. Just as they reached the edge of the forest, they encountered people from both races searching for them.

"Evan!"

"Moon!"

After being hugged and comforted, the two kids immediately received their mothers’ "affection".

"You, you naughty child, daring to sneak out to play, and even letting yourself get so battered like this. Do you know your mistake yet!?"

"Waa waa, it hurts, Mom, I know I was wrong, please don’t hit me anymore."

After a round of scolding, the two races said goodbye to each other, everyone returning to their respective homes.

Evan, reluctant to part, grabbed Moon’s hand: "Moon, will you come visit me?"

Moon craned his neck and said: "Of course, our homes are next to each other, we just need to pass through the spatial array to get there. When the time comes, I will definitely come visit you."

Evan looked at the sparkling ruby eyes and the pretty little mouth opening and closing; hot blood rushed to his head, and he leaned down to plant a smack on Moon’s lips. All the dragons present stiffened, and Moon’s face looked even more dumbfounded. Evan still didn’t know what he had just done, stammering:

"Moon, I, I really like you... When we grow up, will you be my wife?"

Moon’s eyes widened, he ground his teeth, then jumped up and punched Evan right in the left eye:

"Damn it, I am a male dragon! Who gave you permission to kiss me!! Be your wife? I’ll beat you to death right now without waiting for you to grow up!"

Elf Prince Evan hadn’t even recovered from the shock that his crush was male, and on top of getting beaten up mercilessly, he burst into heartbroken tears.

From then on, any dragon, no matter which dragon it was, Evan would beat them up upon sight without needing a reason...
