Chapter 74: Sugar Warehouse

A few minutes later, Rylan and Eiden were seen carrying several small boxes and paper bags in their hands. Even though they had already ordered clothes, it would still take 33 days.

So, Lionel decided to still buy them a few ready-made items that they could use immediately.

"My lord, the carriage is this way," Rylan spoke while guiding Lionel through the crowd carefully. As noon time passed, the capital just got more lively as there were more people now.

"Alright," Lionel nodded lightly and followed. Rylan was in front of him while Eiden stayed close behind.

Soon enough, the three finally arrived in front of a plain-looking carriage parked near the side of the road. It was not luxurious at all compared to noble carriages around the capital. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Since Lionel wanted to hide his identity, they purposely chose something simpler from their household. After entering the carriage, the three finally left.

The lively streets slowly disappeared from their sight as the carriage now moved farther away from the center of the city. In the end, the trip itself took almost two hours.

"We’re here, my lord," Rylan informed him after they arrived at what looked like a vast expanse of land. Several massive warehouse buildings occupied the area.

Most of them looked plain and ordinary from the outside, but the size made it obvious that large amounts of goods were stored there. In some warehouses, there were a number of workers going in and out to transport goods.

"The warehouse that I managed to find is located here, my lord," Rylan explained as the carriage stopped in front of one particular warehouse in the middle. Rylan stepped down first before opening the carriage door for Lionel.

"My lord."

As soon as he stepped outside, Lionel was greeted by a humongous, box-like structure.

"We bought almost everything available around the nearby districts and stored it here," Rylan explained calmly. "Some merchants were even confused as to why we suddenly purchased such large amounts, but they were still happy after we paid the original price."

"I see," Lionel slowly walked closer toward the warehouse entrance while looking around carefully.

"I want to see what’s inside."

"Yes, my lord." Rylan immediately nodded at that.

He reached inside his coat afterward before taking out a large set of keys. Soon, he unlocked the warehouse doors. Rylan placed both hands against the massive wooden doors before slowly pushing them apart.

*Creeeak—

The moment the warehouse opened, Lionel’s steps paused slightly. Inside, he saw countless large sacks stacked almost everywhere.

Rows after rows of white sugar sacks filled the entire warehouse from one side to another. Some were stacked high enough to almost reach the ceiling.

For a brief second, Lionel became speechless. He didn’t expect it to be this much!

"We bought from every merchant we could find," Rylan quietly nodded from the side.

Lionel pressed his lips together at that. He didn’t expect them to be this diligent.

"Come in, my lord. We’ll tour you around." Eiden excitedly exclaimed from the back. It was he and Rylan who worked hard for this.

Lionel glanced at the two before slowly walking inside. His eyes were still looking around the warehouse. It was a little funny because everywhere he looked, there was only sugar.

A faint smile slowly appeared on his face after a few seconds.

"Good work, you two," Lionel finally spoke.

The moment those words came out, Rylan and Eiden’s eyes widened. A surge of joy washed over them.

"We only followed your orders, my lord," Eiden answered.

"I agree with Eiden," Rylan also muttered.

But the smiles on their faces were so obvious.

The two looked visibly happy after hearing Lionel praise them. Honestly, just those few words alone already made all their hard work feel worth it.

Lionel just chuckled. They started to walk inside. The two showed Lionel everything they did and how they organized the warehouse. Even at that, the two still looked visibly happy.

The inside of the warrehouse was even bigger than it looked from the outside. There were rows of sugar sacks organized carefully depending on their type and quality. Some sections were stacked higher than the others, while a few empty spaces were left open so they could transport the sugar more easily when they needed it.

"We organized everything according to where they came from," Rylan explained while walking beside Lionel. "The higher quality sugar is stored at the back, so moisture and dust won’t affect it immediately."

"You thought about that, too?" Lionel glanced toward him with slight surprise.

"Yes, my lord. Since this is an expensive investment, we thought it would be better to preserve the quality as much as possible."

"I see..." Lionel nodded at them.

"We also hired workers to transport everything here ourselves, my lord," Eiden added excitedly. "At first, we thought it would only take a day, but there was too much sugar."

"How much did the transportation itself cost?" Lionel suddenly asked.

"Quite a lot, my lord. Especially because of the distance and number of carts and workers needed."

"But we still stayed within the budget you gave us," Eiden quickly added proudly afterr Rylan’s first answer.

Lionel chuckled again.

"You two really worked hard."

However, suddenly...

[Ding!]

A familiar mechanical voice echoed inside Lionel’s head.

[Mission Triggered.]

[Mission: Find potential business partners and successfully create your first sugar trade.]

[Reward: +1 Large warehouse]

Ah... Lionel let out a breath when he saw that. His eyes quietly moved toward the mountains of sugar around him again before a small smile slowly appeared on his face.

Business partners, huh?

Honestly, he was already planning to do that eventually anyway. Since they already bought this much sugar, there was no way he would just let everything sit here without getting his money’s worth.

But the system sounds like an impatient one.

I guess I can start looking at potential people so that selling this much sugar wouldn’t be hard.

Lionel nodded at his own thoughts. He then turned toward the two, "Rylan. Eiden."

The two immediately turned to him after hearing him call.

"Yes, my lord?"

"I have a new task for you two." Lionel lightly crossed his arms while looking at the massive warehouse behind them.

"I have a new task for you two."
