I Will Conquer The Seas and Gods
Chapter 110: Storm vs Storm
Roseus couldn’t stop staring at this figure.
There was a deep familiarity that he felt when looking at him. Not because of his appearance, but rather because of his presence.
It felt similar to what he had felt when he was swimming through the body of water at the top of Thunderpoint Peak, before he had become a priest.
To him, this could only mean one thing.
"Rai’zac?" he said.
"Aye," Rai’zac responded.
As the thunderous words left his mouth, Susanoo swung down his blade.
A tremendous force of lightning suddenly came tumbling towards them. It was like a slash of pure storm that contained wind, lightning, and heat. It was twenty meters in length and travelled horizontally across the water, cracking through the air as it did.
Roseus nor Lionheart knew how to react. Luckily, neither of them needed to.
Rai’zac’s human vessel lifted a hand like he was attempting to grab something from the sky. When he clenched his fist, three bolts of lightning struck from a singular cloud in rapid succession, crashing into the travelling bolt.
The purple bolt slowly dissipated from the air after suffering the strike. It left a shockwave that sent waves through the seas.
Roseus and Lionheart suddenly had to start giving orders to control their ships, as the waters became more turbulent.
Meanwhile, Rai’zac had already used Storm Jump to teleport onto Crow’s Nest.
The yellow-haired sea god, whose facial features were obscured by lightning, seemed to be more comfortable higher up, especially at that particular point.
The reasoning was simple. Above his head was the single cloud that he currently had control over in this domain. Every other cloud currently belonged to Susanoo, who had more power due to being in his true form.
Rai’zac knew the risks of revealing such a form. If someone managed to slay that form, then returning to the physical realm was impossible. It was why Nammon, Sea God of Avarice, was currently being mourned in the realm of gods.
Instead, Rai’zac would fight as hard as he could whilst maintaining a human form. Yet at the same time, he was not sure what desperation could lead him to.
He wanted nothing more than to cross this sea and enter the third ocean. The question was, how much was he willing to sacrifice?
"Loose as much cannon fire as you can," Rai’zac’s voice travelled across the entire sea. "Both of you!"
His words were addressed to both the Redflowers and Lionheart’s crew.
At that moment, he was like an Admiral.
It reminded him of times of old.
The two crews obeyed his orders, loosing cannon fire in rapid succession. Giant black bullets shot from the ships, and as soon as they did, Rai’zac pointed his finger towards them.
This point imbued the cannonballs with incredibly powerful lightning currents that turned them golden. They travelled towards the enemy sea god, who momentarily looked to be in a state of disbelief.
He had previously had the upper hand. What he wasn’t expecting was for another sea god to join the battle.
Of course, Susanoo could sense the priest, which was reason enough not to let the ships pass. But for the sea god to arrive himself...
Susanoo’s true form let out a gargled laugh as it swung its purple sword in a horizontal arc. The sword sliced through each of the cannonballs, creating an explosion of golden explosions in his face.
Just as the golden explosions were about to disappear, Sea God Rai’zac used Storm Jump, appearing amidst the explosion.
When Susanoo saw the golden-haired man, the man was pointing his finger at him as though he were a piece of art to be admired.
From the point of the man’s finger, a golden bullet flew. The bullet was the size of a small boulder and was amplified with the powers of lightning.
Susanoo was too large to react. He knew that he could use Storm Jump, but trying to teleport with such a heavy body would drain much of his power.
He knew that he had to take the attack head-on.
Crash!
The bullet hit the creature’s chest, burning a small crater into the flesh. He stumbled backwards, causing more waves to form, as the creature almost stumbled into the water.
He quickly recovered, swinging his blade once more towards the location where Rai’zac should have been.
His blade only swung through empty air, as Rai’zac had already used Storm Jump to return to the ship of the red-haired captain.
The enraged Susanoo, who had managed to regain his balance, looked up at the clouds. He was enraged, seeing the singular storm which was being used by his opponent to stay in this battle.
He decided that his best bet would be to get rid of that.
Using the powers of storm sovereignty, he focused his powers on the clouds, ordering the ones that he controlled to devour the sole power under the control of his opponent.
Immediately, the clouds that were filled with purple lightning encircled the only cloud in the sky that was not under Susanoo’s control. Not even ten seconds later, the cloud had almost been completely devoured.
Susanoo turned his attention back to the pirate ship. Now, he could attack without having to worry about his strikes being defended.
He swung his blade again, sending another arced strike of lightning towards the two seemingly helpless ships.
As he watched the arc travel towards them, Susanoo wanted to rejoice. The battle had been won far easier than he expected.
Or at least, that was what he had thought.
Susanoo looked past the travelling arc of lightning, only to see that it no longer had any target to hit.
The two ships had simply disappeared. He wondered whether Storm Jump had been used, but knew that he had seen no lightning.
Before Susanoo was able to figure out why his strike had suddenly become useless, he felt twenty successive strikes crash into his back.
Not only was the impact so great that it forced him to fall face-first into the water, but it had also been charged with so much lightning belonging to Rai’zac’s domain that he was momentarily left in a state that left him unable to move.
