...

As Roseus sailed across the Southern Sunny Seas with the Alzabe Pirates, he finally found the time to analyse the changes that had taken place in his system.

A lot had happened, as he had absorbed two very powerful souls.

The Elite Soul of Lieutenant Roland, and the Apex Soul of Sea God Nammon’s Vessel.

With this, he had undergone quite a few changes. Most importantly, he had reached the rank of Deckhand.

This change was the greatest change that had happened to him so far, as it came with a bunch of benefits that were not written into his system, but could be understood naturally.

First, he was naturally slightly stronger, faster, and more durable. This increase was enough to put a gap between a Rookie and a Deckhand that could only be closed through skills, treasures, and such.

He would also naturally feel more at home when sailing the numerous seas. It was impossible to become seasick, and he would never miss the land.

Finally, he carried a greater presence. Fodder and lesser sea creatures would naturally fear him and would flee if they came across him at sea.

With these changes, Roseus felt very satisfied. Not to mention, he was already 40% through the Deckhand rank.

Then, he turned his attention towards his skill changes.

His Ranged Combat had increased to Rank III, which was only natural, as he killed both his targets using ranged attacks.

Through this, he had awakened the skill: Distance Multiplier. Attacking from a greater distance would make his strikes stronger.

This made him regret getting rid of the Monochrome Bullet, and he desperately yearned for a new ranged treasure.

At least I still have the storms...

Next, Weather Sense had also upgraded to Rank III, which made sense. After all, during the battle, he was the one who had been controlling the weather the most.

Through this, he had awakened a skill, Whispering Winds, which already came at Level 3.

This skill sounded like the most interesting one he had awakened so far. It would allow him to hear when his name was mentioned over a 10km distance.

It almost felt like an unknown skill, and he was desperate to try it soon. Perhaps he could use it to find his crew.

Hunting Diver had also increased to Level 2, which would now attract sea creatures with mid-tier treasures when underwater. He assumed this had upgraded due to the fact that he spent a lot of time underwater after the battle.

Finally, he was now 40% through the Priest rank of his pact with Rai’zac. This seemed like an incredibly large jump and made him wonder: if he continued on this path with Rai’zac, was it possible for him to exceed the rank of Priest?

He couldn’t even imagine how powerful his abilities in the storm domain would be after that.

...

With his system changes inspected, Roseus made his way to the helm of the ship, where he found Tolu staring out into the distant seas.

He had numerous questions he wanted to ask the man. For example, what was the Alzabes’ relationship with the Templars, who currently had the strongest presence in the Second Ocean?

Also, what were their goals?

However, as he stepped up next to the dark-skinned man in red robes, the man raised a hand and pointed out into the distance.

"We are here," he said in his thickly accented voice.

Roseus looked out towards where the man’s finger was pointing. What he saw in the distance seemed to defy logic.

There was an island that seemed to be entirely made of desert, yet somehow, the water met the sands.

Were deserts not supposed to be void of water?

There was no dockyard built into the desert, yet two other ships were resting on the sandy shore.

In the distance, the sands rose, creating a small hill; however, peeking over it, Roseus spotted a town made from orange sandstone.

Tolu smiled as he looked at the village. It was the smile of a man who had returned home.

"Welcome to RedSand Island."
