Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies
Chapter 1279: Yasha Langtai Deji
Chapter 1279: Yasha Langtai Deji
Lhasa City, La Min Family estate.
Late at night, a dark figure abruptly appeared from outside and arrived at the room of the La Min family head—La Min Ouzhu.
Among the four great chieftain families of the West, only the head of the La Min family was a woman.
La Min Ouzhu was thirty-six this year, a woman with meticulous makeup. Her long hair was tied into a single long braid resting on her back, revealing a smooth, broad forehead.
No matter the situation, when she looked at people, she would always raise her chin and look down at them with her eyes.
However, she indeed had the right to do so. Looking across the entire Southwest Region, there were few people she would hold in high regard.
But this man was an exception.
A tall figure appeared inside her massive bedchamber. This was a three-story room, yet she was the only one living in it.
Without her command, not even her maids were allowed to enter.
The tall figure, however, sat boldly on the sofa in the first-floor living room, retracting the helmet of his combat suit to reveal a handsome face with sharp, defined features.
This was not an Eastern face. Deep blue eyes were as profound as the ocean, and his slightly long chestnut hair was loose and casual.
He sat in the living room, and soon, the lights on the second floor came on.
La Min Ouzhu, wearing a black nightgown, leaned on the handrail, looking down expressionlessly.
"Where have you been?"
La Min Ouzhu asked as she began walking downstairs.
The man did not turn his head, smiling as he said, "I went to take a look at that place you mentioned. As expected, there was an unexpected harvest."
La Min Ouzhu curled her lips in a cold smirk.
"I told you, even if you found that place, without the help of our La Min family, you could never enter."
The man shrugged. "Had to give it a try. But you are indeed right, my dear lady."
He pulled out a bottle of red wine from under the table, poured himself a glass, and then raised it in a toast to La Min Ouzhu.
La Min Ouzhu walked over to him and sat on the sofa, casually crossing her legs without a care that her thigh was exposed to his gaze.
Unfortunately, even at thirty-six, despite possessing immense wealth and power that allowed her to enjoy every beauty and skincare product in the world, she could hardly defy time.
Her legs were very pale, but thin, taut, and lacking luster.
"What did you find?"
La Min Ouzhu stared directly at the man in front of her and asked.
The man took a sip of red wine, his gaze profound and carrying a hint of amusement.
He looked at La Min Ouzhu. "I found the situation on your Snowy Plateau to be quite interesting. Far more interesting than I imagined!"
"Although it will increase the difficulty of our cooperation, that's what makes it fun, isn't it?"
La Min Ouzhu also poured herself a glass of red wine, swirled it before her, and frowned.
"Whatever you do, do not create complications. The Yasha Langtai, Pagyi, and Xia Zha families, along with the monks of Sangha Monastery, are not easy to deal with."
The tall man spread his hands. "Well said. That's why we still need Your Excellency to devise strategies. But right now, the main conflict isn't focused on you, is it?"
La Min Ouzhu took a sip of red wine, her gaze cold and stern. She gritted her teeth.
"That's true. Let them tear into each other first!"
"The one who laughs best means nothing. What matters most is who laughs last."
...
Sangha Monastery stood before the Great Snow Mountain.
From a distance, it appeared to be backed against the Great Snow Mountain, as if built on its slopes.
Of course, this was just a visual illusion. In reality, Sangha Monastery was still some distance away from the Great Snow Mountain.
This night was destined not to be peaceful.
The Great Illumination Hall.
The Lord of the Charnel Ground sat cross-legged on a meditation cushion. Above him was a statue of the Buddha Shakyamuni.
He sat with his eyes tightly closed in meditation.
A wind arose in the air, not a cold wind. It passed through the central hall of Sangha Monastery, blowing past the three thousand Prayer Wheel Towers, causing them to slowly turn.
An invisible force gathered into the Great Illumination Hall and flowed into the body of the Lord of the Charnel Ground.
At the foot of the Great Snow Mountain, using his own body as a conduit, he had absorbed the power of five Epsilon-level beings to break the first seal on the Demon Kingdom Gate.
Although on the Snowy Plateau, he could continuously receive the empowerment of the esoteric sect's power.
But this power was too immense, making it difficult for him to digest all at once.
At the time, to awe the crowd, he had no choice but to endure it forcefully.
Now he needed time to slowly repair his Vajra body.
Outside the Great Illumination Hall, an old monk walked in.
He wore purple monastic robes. The hair on his head was left only as a thin layer, already grey.
Looking at the Lord of the Charnel Ground meditating on the cushion, this old monk, the current Khenpo of Sangha Monastery and head of the Yasha Langtai family—Yasha Langtai Deji—slowly spoke.
"Loren died today."
"He was killed by the mercenaries hired by the Pagyi family!"
"You have always told me not to engage in disputes with the other families. But a divided Snowy Plateau will only be plagued by endless conflict."
"Jue Guo, when will you agree to take action? To completely unify the entire power of the esoteric sect!"
The Lord of the Charnel Ground slowly opened his eyes.
Facing Deji, whose face showed lament and whose eyes concealed grief, the Lord of the Charnel Ground said slowly:
"Everything is predestined. Loren has merely entered the cycle of reincarnation. This is his karma."
Deji's face turned cold. "Lord of the Charnel Ground, do not forget you are also a member of the Yasha Langtai family. Our family absolutely cannot allow others to bully us!"
"The longer you refuse to act, the more people of the Snowy Region will die!"
The Lord of the Charnel Ground slowly closed his eyes.
"Amitabha."
Faced with the Lord of the Charnel Ground's response, Deji angrily stamped his foot.
"Fine, if you won't act, then I will!"
Faced with the obstinate Lord of the Charnel Ground, Deji had no recourse.
This Lord of the Charnel Ground, the supreme Dharma-protecting deity of the esoteric sect, no one could force him to do anything.
Perhaps in the past they could, but now, the Lord of the Charnel Ground was not just a nominal leader, but a true Dharma-protecting deity possessing great supernatural powers.
It was just a pity that ever since his enlightenment at age eight, he had been confined to Sangha Monastery to intensively cultivate Buddhist teachings.
Buddhist teachings were good, but they might not be suited to a cruel world.
The Lord of the Charnel Ground's single-minded devotion to Buddhism had instead given him a pure and kind heart, making him unwilling to be used as a weapon by the Yasha Langtai family.
This was both good and bad.
From another perspective, if he truly craved power, there would be no place for Yasha Langtai Deji.
Deji stormed down the steps of the Great Illumination Hall.
At the bottom of the steps, his Personal Guards were waiting respectfully.
Deji swept his gaze over the guards before him. These men were the Monk Soldiers of Sangha Monastery, Vajras who served the Buddhas and deities.
But nowadays, they were not much different from the private soldiers of his Yasha Langtai family, all obeying Deji's commands.
"Mukawa, come here."
Deji looked toward one of the guards and beckoned him over.
Mukawa hurried over. "Khenpo!"
Deji reached out and rubbed a circle on his head, then said with a sharp gaze:
"Tomorrow, I am sending you to do something!"
