I'll Just Be Overpowered
Chapter 3: Orion
The Gods were stunned when they saw this, a human soul had completely overlooked the soul pressure of a god, that was something so unheard of that if the gods told the others they would laugh and call it a joke.
The old man stepped forward, "how did you resist that human?" he asked, completely curious.
"Well I felt it, like a wave that came crashing, sadly that pressure will not be able to make me falter." Ken declared, his pride knowing no bounds.
The man’s face twitched hard when he heard that, Ken had basically called his strength nothing, that was the highest disgrace that he could face.
The old man stroked his chin a few times and then spoke, "the only beings that have such soul strength are beings destined to be heroes of worlds, you have not been destined for anything, it’s safe to say your soul is that of the average human, and yet it has grown to such a level of fate defying strength, how is that so?" the old man asked.
"Tch, old man, you ask me too many questions, but the answer is simple, I simply decided to be that strong, if only my body could have caught up in strength, I would have become capable of withstanding bullets," Ken said, clutching his hands in regret.
"Your soul was already defying the logic of your world, I’m sure your world intervened in that moment and ensured you were killed," the lady spoke up. When Ken heard that, his attention was pulled completely, he wanted to know what exactly she was talking about right now.
"Many souls that become too much for a world are removed by force before they shatter the balance, I’m sure that’s what happened to you," she explained.
"Huh, so you mean to tell me I was murdered by my planet, hahahaha, what a way to go, that makes it all better, I can respect that, but it won’t happen again," he declared.
"You think we will let you go with your memories? Never," the man barked.
"What choice do you have, I refuse to be pushed into reincarnation and your presence seems to not work against my soul, I’ll only move on my own terms, or if you send someone even stronger to force me."
They looked at Ken, seeing that he was dead serious.
"We can’t call any of the higher ups for this, it would be a disgrace if they knew that we could not force a single soul," the lady said.
"Those old rats will surely make jest of me for eons to come, I’ll never hear the end of it," the old man said.
"Huh, so what are the two of you insinuating, that we send his soul to a world with memory? That’s something only the fated heroes of worlds can have, not a nobody like him," one man declared.
"His soul is more impressive than that of heroes, even if not fated," the lady said.
"Indeed, and we don’t need to give him what heroes have, but as per the rules, any such transmigration must come with a system, we will give him the basic system and that will be all, whatever fate he faces down there will be his cross to carry," the old man explained.
"Arghh, fine, but I choose the world that he is thrown into," the man said.
"Which do you want?" the old man asked.
"Throw him into Orion."
"Orion? You can’t be serious, that world is far too dangerous, it has had more than ten heroes during its time and all have failed to rescue the world, even Linda the main goddess of the world is powerless to control it," the lady said.
"I choose the world and that’s final," the man said, not budging on his stance at all.
The lady let out a sigh, she looked forward at Ken with pity, but what she saw was Ken with a smug smile.
"This world seems pretty nice, I want it," he said, he overheard everything that the man said and he had to say that the world did sound enticing.
"You are one weird being," the old man commented.
"In this world, magic and martial arts exist, you should learn one to survive, train your body, hopefully you make it out alive," the lady said, not out of concern, but rather a warning.
"Enough talk," the man said and then snapped his finger and a blood red portal appeared, he then turned and looked at Ken, "you wanted a world, then here you go, step in."
Ken looked at the portal, the beginning of his second chance, the opportunity to rise even stronger in this powerful world, he could barely contain the happiness that he felt, he strutted toward the portal, then stopped and looked at the gods.
"Twas fun meeting you three, I’m sure I’ll rise high enough to speak to you again, so wait for me."
"Haha, such bold words," the old man said, "I’ll be waiting."
"If you manage to do that, then come meet me, I’ll let you have me," the lady said with a wink.
The man heard what she said and his blood boiled even more, he loved the lady and yet she never looked at him, and now she promised herself to this human.
He would never allow it, no matter what it took, he would make sure that Ken died in this world and was forced to reincarnate.
Ken could see the animosity of the man towards him, but rather that made him smile more than anything, he turned and walked into the portal, it shut immediately after he was through.
Ken had now been sent to a new world, one that would either break him or make him into the strongest being ever, and Ken being Ken, there was only one true answer, he would be the strongest and rule over all in dominance.
