Chapter 90: Hallucinogenic mist

An hour later, in the forest, CharmingPrince sat on the grass, gritting his teeth, wiping away tears with his sleeve constantly.

"It’s too much! It’s really too much! I’m going to kill those bastards! I’ll mince them!"

The surrounding disciples of the Order of the Wandering Oracles were in utter shock.

In their memory, Elder CharmingPrince was always a stern and cruel individual. They had never seen him in such a distraught state.

"Elder, what happened?" One of the worried disciples asked.

CharmingPrince, with bloodshot eyes, bit his lip and glared at him, "Tell me, do I really look that ugly?"

The disciple scratched his head in confusion and replied, "Elder, why do you say that?"

CharmingPrince gritted his teeth, "Those bastards laughed at my face for a whole half hour! If they weren’t so numerous, I would have killed them on the spot! Do I really look that hideous?"

The disciple smiled gently, "Elder, you shouldn’t think this way. We are cultivators, and our bodies are but mere vessels. What does beauty or ugliness matter? We shouldn’t care about such things."

Hearing this, CharmingPrince felt deeply moved.

Yes!

As cultivators, why should one be concerned with their appearance?

He sighed in relief and nodded, "Yes, we shouldn’t care about these things."

Then he removed the mask from his face.

The disciple’s eyes widened in surprise. He burst into laughter, "Lol! Why does someone’s face look like a squash that’s been punched, with the features all squeezed together? Lol!"

Tears streamed down from his laughter, and he couldn’t stop himself.

Then he suddenly turned pale.

What... why did I...

As he looked up, he met CharmingPrince’s eyes filled with murderous intent.

"Hahaha! Elder, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to... I just can’t help it when I see your face... lol..."

"Beat him! Beat him senseless!" CharmingPrince roared.

...

Under the dark, cloud-covered night, in front of the hotel, four people helped each other, looking extremely "exhausted" as they made their way.

Alexander gasped, "I can’t take it, my stomach hurts from laughing. I’ve never laughed this much in my life!"

The High Priest rubbed his face, "Same here! Ouch, I have a muscle cramp in my face, I laughed so hard I thought my heart would stop!"

All four supported each other, looking as if they had been through a significant battle.

Once back in the hotel, Alexander secretly sent a photo he took with his phone to Laura.

After viewing the photo, Laura covered her mouth with her hand, bursting into laughter. As she laughed, her ample chest moved up and down with her body.

Alexander, sitting on the bed, laughed out loud, "Laura, stop laughing! You always laugh the longest."

Despite trying to control herself, Laura continued, "Haha, it’s my first time seeing something like this. Sorry, but I can’t help it!"

Alexander smiled, then swallowed a system-rewarded elixir, "He’s also a cultivator."

Laura paused, "What did you say, dear?"

Narrowing his eyes and his face becoming serious, Alexander responded, "When we were mocking him, I noticed he’s different from ordinary people, aside from his unique appearance.

When he got angry, he unintentionally revealed a hint of spiritual energy. Everyone was too busy laughing to notice, but I did."

Alexander stood up, looking out the dark window, "That was a very refined spiritual energy. I estimate that anyone with that kind of aura must be at least of S-class level. His cultivation level is higher than yours, possibly even surpassing your master, the High Priest."

Laura exclaimed, "Dear, even my master didn’t notice that, yet you did!"

Pondering, Alexander said, "I reckon his cultivation level is around 25. Even in that situation, he didn’t attack us, showing strong restraint. However..."

Turning towards the window again, he continued, "If I’m not wrong, he might make a move tonight. I just don’t know what method he’ll use."

...

Time ticked away.

Though Alexander and Laura shared the same bed that night, they didn’t make love.

Suddenly, Alexander felt something and opened his eyes instantly.

He noticed pink mists seeping in through the door frame, unsure of when they had started to appear.

Outside, the view had somehow become obscured in a haze.

Alexander pondered, "Mist? There wasn’t any forecasted fog today. Something’s amiss."

Within the pink fog, he detected a faint fragrance.

Laura warned, "The fog is poisonous! We need to act fast, dear."

Quickly, Alexander produced two antidote pills, and while Laura was speaking, he swiftly placed them in her mouth.

Laura mumbled, "Uh..."

Moving to the window, Alexander confirmed his suspicion, "Toxic mist, just as I thought!"

With concern, Laura asked, "What should we do next, dear?"

Alexander glanced at the guard post outside the window. It was deserted. Evidently, the guards had succumbed to the effects of the mist.

Immediately, Alexander swung the room door open, saying, "We need to check on the others."

...

Meanwhile, in the sky above.

The pink fog enveloped the entire military base. Oddly, it did not disperse, signifying this wasn’t a natural occurrence.

Beyond the forest, leaves rustled.

Giant shadowy figures emerged from the ground, their crimson eyes gleaming outside the woods.

"Master!" The disciple, still bearing the wounds from earlier, sneered,"Everything’s set. The hallucinogenic mist given by Elder Dalina will ensure they sleep soundly tonight. The 500 beasts supporting us are in place. We can attack at any time!"

CharmingPrince opened his eyes, commanding, "Good. I’ll scout first. Wait for my signal!"

"Yes, Master!"

...

Meanwhile, inside the hotel.

With a forceful kick, Alexander broke down the door to Louis’s room.

"Louis! How are you?" he shouted.

Louis was sprawled unconscious on the bed.

Rushing over, Alexander grabbed Louis’s collar, slapped him twice, and yelled,"Louis! Wake up! We’re in deep trouble!"

Louis’s head lolled, showing no sign of consciousness.

Frowning, Alexander remarked, "He’s definitely been drugged."

Swiftly, Alexander fetched another antidote pill from his pouch, placing it into Louis’s mouth and ensuring it went down his throat.

Two minutes later, there was still no response from Louis.

Alexander slapped him again, urging, "Louis, wake up!"

Laura interjected, "Maybe be gentler? His face is swelling."

Alexander retorted, "No, gentle actions won’t work!"

He delivered another forceful slap, calling out, "Louis, wake up!"
