I'm Crushing on Gorgeous Faces in Variety Shows!
Chapter 570 - 569: Anyway, They’re Not Good People
"I’ll count down from three, two, one, then you rush out and retch, and I’ll go out after you, pretending to take care of you. Got it?"
Zhao Yu signaled okay with her hand: "Understood."
After making the gesture, she stood up and quickly took a few steps outside, pretending to hold onto the door, feeling physically sick, paused for two seconds, and let out a feeble retching sound.
Mu Qiu gave her a look of appreciation, then immediately rushed out, supporting Zhao Yu as they walked a few more steps outside, showing a worried expression and whispering a few words.
"Very good, if you’d had this level of acting skills back in high school, you wouldn’t have gotten punished by standing outside those few times."
Zhao Yu maintained her weak voice: "It’s not bad, right? I did watch Lin burying flowers six, seven, or eight times. Can we go now?"
"Wait a bit longer, move a couple steps to the side. Okay, perfect, run!"
The sense of weakness vanished instantly, and the two of them grabbed their waistbands and rushed outside. The cameraman stunned for a moment, hurriedly followed them with the camera.
They ran out from the left side of the supermarket, moving parallel to the wall, passing several small shops along the way—clothing stores, a flower shop, and a dry cleaner.
But they didn’t care, they kept panting while running to the end, then turned a corner, finally stopping on the large road of the entire ruin.
"Head to the residential building, then go to the hotel," Mu Qiu said, panting.
If an individual had hoarded supplies, their first thought would likely be to hide them in their most familiar place, preferably somewhere only they could open.
Secondly, a hotel would be ideal, with lots of rooms all closed off. If you get one room or all the room keys, you can hide in any room, and others searching like crazy probably won’t find you.
And the location where the show crew hides the monster file cards isn’t fixed, nor follows any logic. You can only speed up the search, expand the search area, and reduce the time finding the file card, trying your best to hold it and keep yourself alive.
Zhao Yu nodded, swallowed, and followed Mu Qiu toward the residential building across the road.
The roadside was still piled with all sorts of stuff, like trash.
The ruin constructed by the crew really was quite realistic. When the apocalypse arrives, the city’s order begins to weaken, and in merely three days, the sanitation environment changes drastically, and betrayal and slaughter become normal occurrences.
The sight was all desolation, somehow eliciting a sense of sadness and bewildered confusion.
They entered through the forcibly opened front door of the residential building, heading straight up to the third floor.
Both rooms on the third floor had their doors open, indicating their owners fled urgently.
They entered the room on the left first.
The room here was cramped, typical of the old city center buildings. It was filled with living supplies, with the kitchen and bathroom close together, looking very congested, engendering an oppressive feeling upon entering.
The residential building only had the two of them and the cameraman inside, the quiet environment made their slightly hurried breathing quite noticeable.
Mu Qiu held her hand against her nose, tried to slow her breathing, and carefully looked around from the doorway.
Seeing nothing suspicious, she raised her hand towards Zhao Yu behind her.
"Go, search."
They rushed inside, searching places possibly hiding things, like intruding thieves.
Mu Qiu entered the bedroom, opened the wardrobe, found no hidden supplies, then lifted the blankets and sheets, even reaching under the bed.
Nothing suspicious was found.
Maneuvering quickly, she performed a thorough search of the bedroom and then went to search the side room again.
Balcony, curtains, under the bed, wardrobe, bathroom, under plant pots, she didn’t overlook anywhere she might suspect.
She sweated a lot, but aside from a pile of trash, found nothing.
Zhao Yu likewise, rifled through the trash can but found nothing useful.
They leaned against the wall, out of breath, fanning themselves.
"No supplies."
"Nor any file cards. Could it be the search was too simple? What would the file card look like? An A4 paper?"
Mu Qiu thought for a moment: "I don’t think it would be so crude, more like a host’s hand card, or maybe somewhat high-class, made into a metal plaque."
"That would also be hard to find," Zhao Yu frowned, "so thin, easily hidden and overlooked."
Searching such a vast ruin for a few hand cards has some difficulty.
"But there’s no other way. Okay, when we’re searching, focus more on anything unusual. If a file card is placed there, it would surely be different from other places, right? Like having cameras or crew around?"
No way they want the guests to not find them—what’s the point of the game then?
"That’s the only option... Hey, wait, can we borrow props from the crew?"
"You mean..." Mu Qiu’s eyes lit up.
Although no one has tried yet, it seems that being thick-skinned would suffice. If the crew refuses, then just steal them (of course not).
So when they returned to the residential building, the cameraman stationed at the building entrance saw them carrying a large black object.
Like the female knight wielding a heavy sword in martial arts films, except their attire looked rather off, and what they carried wasn’t a heavy sword but a modern, high-tech product.
A metal detector.
The harness for the metal detector was borrowed by Mu Qiu from the staff, casually tied it, slung it over her shoulder, exuding an air of magnificence.
Packing pockets of cargo pants full of food added a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment, unimaginable to most.
They boldly returned to the third-floor room with plans to search once more using the metal detector, to see if the show’s crew really made the file card into a metal plaque.
Their silhouettes disappeared at the entrance of the residential building, while simultaneously, two people emerged from across the large road.
Shu Ran furrowed her brow a bit, squinting at the two sneaky individuals opposite.
Han Xizheng was wiping sweat with a wet towel, asked: "Is that Mu Qiu and Zhao Yu? What are they carrying?"
"Certainly not something good," Shu Ran said waving the plastic half of a folder, "I mean the people."
"..."
"Come on, let’s follow and see."
They followed the cameraman’s trail all the way to the third floor.
It didn’t matter that the cameraman saw them, but they couldn’t let the people inside see them, so they had to stay in the hallway, peering around the door frame, listening to the activities inside.
No sounds of speaking were heard, but a strange beeping rang instead.
The constant beeping that started discomforting Shu Ran’s ears finally halted, followed by Mu Qiu’s calm voice.
"Nothing, let’s go to the room opposite."
Shu Ran and Han Xizheng exchanged a glance and quickly sprinted down, but Shu Ran’s heeled shoes clattered, impossible to sprint silently yet rapidly.
So in the end, she didn’t manage to escape, promptly caught by the emerging Mu Qiu.
"Sister Shu Ran? Are you racing in the stairwell?"
