I'm in Senior Year, and the System Says I'm Going on a Blind Date with My Childhood Sweetheart
Chapter 83: These Are Your Study Materials
As the saying goes, some are happy, some are sad.
After Li Zhi saw Shen Yuan’s total score on the report card, the light vanished from her eyes.
Suddenly, her own total score of 689 didn’t feel so great anymore.
"La la la, 623~"
Shen Yuan leaned in front of Li Zhi, bobbing his head smugly. He was the very picture of cocky.
"What are you so proud of! There’s still that girl Tong’s score from next door! If you don’t score higher than her, you still lose!"
Shen Yuan chuckled. "Sweetheart, let me tell you something. Tong Churou told me yesterday that her estimated score was 625."
"The highest she dared to estimate was 625. Do you really think she can beat me?"
Clearly, Shen Yuan was getting a big head.
Before, would Shen Yuan have dared to speak so boldly?
Hilarious. When it came to grades, Shen Yuan would never have dared to talk to Li Zhi like that.
But Shen Yuan knew he had to be this bold not just now, but in the future, too!
His improvement in math was only the beginning.
’I haven’t even fully digested the abilities the system gave me yet!’
Li Zhi watched Shen Yuan’s arrogant display, lightly biting her lower lip.
Finally, Young Master Li made a decision.
"Go ask, then! Go get Tong Churou’s score! I want to see who’s really better between the two of you!"
Li Zhi had seen the head teacher of Class 14 walk past, and judging by the noise coming from their classroom, it was obvious they had just gotten their scores too.
"Fine, I’ll go!"
Shen Yuan jutted out his chin. Just as he was about to turn and leave the classroom, he turned back.
"Nope, you’re coming with me!"
"Why?"
"What if you don’t believe me?"
Li Zhi rolled her eyes. "It’s just about a 620. What’s there to not believe?"
Listen to her. Could she be any more heartless?
"Then that means Tong Churou didn’t score as high as me."
Li Zhi’s brow twitched. She gritted her teeth and said viciously, "Fine! I’ll go with you!"
Shen Yuan quickly led Li Zhi to the back door of Class 14’s classroom.
However, almost all the boys from Class 14 were crowded at the back of the room, and no one was outside.
Besides Tong Churou, Shen Yuan only knew one "big sister" type and Guo Weifeng in Class 14. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
As for Guo Weifeng, there was no way he would even talk to him, so there was no point in thinking about it.
’Forget it, I’ll just call out to her.’
With that thought, Shen Yuan immediately opened his mouth.
"Tong Churou!"
His loud shout immediately attracted the attention of most people in Class 14.
Tong Churou looked up from her seat.
Although she was a boarding student, Tong Churou usually didn’t go back to her dorm for the afternoon nap.
A fifteen-minute nap at her desk was enough; any extra time was better spent reading.
When she saw Shen Yuan, Tong Churou frowned subconsciously.
Tong Churou hadn’t forgotten what she said yesterday.
When she reached the classroom door, Tong Churou saw a girl standing next to Shen Yuan.
Tong Churou, of course, remembered Li Zhi.
Li Zhi’s words, "Hominid, stay away from me," had dealt her a heavy blow.
She had even gone out of her way to ask someone what it meant.
’Oh, right. She seems to be Shen Yuan’s deskmate.’
’Their relationship isn’t ordinary, is it?’
Seeing Tong Churou’s gaze fixed on Li Zhi, Shen Yuan said with displeasure, "I’m the one who called you."
"I know. You want my score, right? My total is 619."
After Tong Churou finished speaking, a brilliant smile spread across Shen Yuan’s face.
"You lost."
Tong Churou froze for a second, then quickly asked, "What did you get?"
As the words left her mouth, Tong Churou realized Shen Yuan wasn’t looking at her.
His previous sentence had been directed at Li Zhi, who was standing beside him.
"If I lost, I lost. No need to remind me. I’m not a sore loser."
Li Zhi threw out this sentence before striding back toward her classroom.
Watching the beautiful girl’s retreating back, Shen Yuan broke into a radiant smile.
"Hey! You still haven’t told me your score!"
Only then did Shen Yuan remember Tong Churou was still there.
"623. If you don’t believe me, you can go to our class and see for yourself."
623.
Tong Churou stood at the back door of the classroom, watching Shen Yuan’s back.
At that moment, Shen Yuan’s words from last night echoed in her mind.
"To me, studying is simple—just do more, learn more." "You have your methods, and I have mine." "I accept my life of mind-numbing drills."
’Is doing that really better than my method?’
Tong Churou muttered to herself.
Back in the classroom, just as Li Zhi was about to look at some problems, a very punchable face leaned in front of her.
"What?"
A wave of irritation washed over her.
Shen Yuan flashed a brilliant smile. "Don’t be mad. I’ll treat you to a late-night snack tonight."
"I’m not mad!" Li Zhi glared at Shen Yuan.
’If it weren’t for that murderous look in your eyes, I’d almost believe you.’
"Okay, okay, you’re not mad."
Shen Yuan chuckled, then went to find Zhou Shaojie.
Shen Yuan quickly found Ah Jie at his desk, looking as if his world had ended.
"Hey! Jie! What’s wrong? Didn’t do well on the exam?"
The reason Shen Yuan knew Ah Jie hadn’t done well was simple.
When he was checking the scores, he noticed the guy—Ah Jie was ranked right below him.
Ah Jie looked up at Shen Yuan. "I bombed the test. Are you happy now? You cold, heartless man! I’ll never forgive you!"
Shen Yuan nodded. "He can still quote memes. He’s not completely dead yet."
"Fuck! Why did I only get a 71 in English! Just two more points and I would have beaten you!"
Shen Yuan chuckled. "That’s just fate!"
To be honest, Ah Jie had done pretty well.
The Science Comprehensive paper was a massive boost for him; he got a perfect score on the 110-point physics section.
Ah Jie’s Science Comprehensive score was 294, even more ridiculous than Li Zhi’s 289.
Hearing Shen Yuan’s laughter, a wave of determination washed over Ah Jie.
"No! Yuan! I’m going to study English your way! I will definitely surpass you again!"
"Then get to copying!"
Shen Yuan patted Ah Jie’s shoulder, his expression firm. "I believe in you!"
Ah Jie was so moved he was about to cry.
But just then, Ah Jie suddenly blinked back his tears and quickly kicked Shen Yuan. "Someone’s here for you."
Shen Yuan turned his head and saw Tong Churou.
Seeing Tong Churou approach, Shen Yuan’s mind went blank for a second.
"Couldn’t beat me on the test, so now you’re here to assassinate me?"
Hearing Shen Yuan’s words, Tong Churou huffed. "I’m not that petty. Take it. This is what I promised you."
Shen Yuan stared at the physics materials in Tong Churou’s hand, his brain struggling to catch up.
"Wait, what are you doing?"
"I promised you. If I didn’t score higher than you, I’d give you my study materials. These are for physics!"
Shen Yuan frowned. "I didn’t accept that deal."
Tong Churou placed the physics materials on Shen Yuan’s desk. "That’s your business. If you don’t want them, just throw them away. Anyway, I’m done here."
After saying her piece, Tong Churou turned to leave.
"Hey! Wait!"
Shen Yuan watched Tong Churou turn back around and made a decision in his heart.
"If you really want to get good at English, start by copying vocabulary lists."
Shen Yuan pointed at the bewildered Zhou Shaojie next to him. "His English foundation is weak, so I told him to copy them five times at a minimum. You can figure out what to do for yourself!"
Tong Churou looked at Shen Yuan, nodded heavily, and then left Class 15.
Just then, Shen Yuan suddenly felt his mount beneath him jolt.
Ah Jie’s voice immediately followed from behind him.
"I’m just material for your little act again, aren’t I?"
