Chapter 194: Chapter 192: Becoming Human

The wish of this Purple gossamer creature was, of all things, to become human!

Mo Ling was stunned, but he also instantly understood why it wanted to do so.

It was like someone who loves cats so much they want to become one.

It was an extreme form of obsession.

But what Mo Ling didn’t understand was why it had to choose this particular method.

The golden light grew ever more brilliant.

Compared to the Wishing Spring of the future, the golden Little Elf of this era seemed to have a very simple and crude way of using its power, and its method for granting wishes was incredibly fast.

It didn’t create any relics, nor did it seem to care whether its abilities were sufficient to grant the wish. It didn’t even mind the drain on its power.

Even though it was already weakening, it continued to output its energy at full power.

Very immature.

However, the Purple gossamer creature’s wish seemed nearly complete. Its original form had vanished.

All that remained was a human-shaped web of gossamer, which was steadily condensing into a physical form.

It was a well-proportioned Young Lady. Her features were still unclear as she slowly took shape beneath the overflowing golden light.

Mo Ling watched as human organs formed one by one, everything that made one human appearing on this unknown creature.

The ethereal and illusory feeling slowly faded. A golden cage seemed to pull it down into the mortal realm, transforming it into an equally soft body of flesh.

The Purple gossamer, made of some unknown material, slowly turned into fair skin as golden light shuttled through it, constructing a perfect body as if with a printer.

This was the Young Lady from the golden vision of the wish, the one who was always walking.

However, just as the Young Lady’s body was nearly complete and Mo Ling tried to get a clear look at her face, the light wrapped around her form, and she vanished instantly from the watery space.

She was gone.

"Where did she go?"

Mo Ling couldn’t help but ask.

"She went back." The golden Little Elf heard Mo Ling’s question and answered, its voice a little weak.

Mo Ling knew the golden Little Elf had been able to see him all along, but he was still surprised that it would answer his question so earnestly.

And its attitude seemed quite friendly, too.

But Mo Ling still didn’t understand what the Little Elf meant. "What do you mean, ’went back’? Back where?"

Although the Little Elf looked a bit drained, the golden light on the surrounding water currents was still returning to its body, helping it recover its energy.

The exhaustion was visibly fading from its body.

"She returned to her proper place," the Little Elf began to explain to Mo Ling. "Her wish was to become human, but it wasn’t as simple as just transforming."

"She wanted to extinguish her original existence and create a ’human’ version of herself. So, after the wish was granted, she went back. She returned to the body of that ’human’ self."

"However, the reunion is coming soon!"

In that moment, the golden Little Elf seemed to have matured considerably, as if it had suddenly understood many things at once.

"Reunion?" Mo Ling pressed.

"Yes." While talking with Mo Ling, the Little Elf had gradually recovered its energy.

With a wave of its tiny hand, a large rift was torn open in the watery space.

The scene outside was revealed in its entirety.

"She’s almost here! Look!" The Little Elf, now full of life again, pointed to the sky beyond the rift, urging Mo Ling to watch.

In the sky, a black dot appeared out of thin air.

It was a Young Lady.

From a distance, however, she looked a bit strange. She seemed to be carrying many odd objects, making her Shadow look bloated.

As the Young Lady fell closer, Mo Ling could finally see what those objects were.

They were shuttles of varying lengths, with colorful threads wrapped around them.

The Young Lady wore a set of clothes in a chaotic mix of colors as she fell through the air.

Seeing the hard shells below, she hurriedly summoned a shuttle tied with blue thread from behind her back.

The thread flew out in the direction of her fall, quickly forming a diagonal line.

Then, the thread rapidly swelled, transforming into a gushing current of water. The Young Lady rode this current downward.

The thread continued to extend with her, and the current buoyed the falling Young Lady, slowing her descent.

Just before she reached the ground, the current of water suddenly curved, turning back and surging toward the sky.

On the verge of crashing, the Young Lady was flung into the air by the reversing current. She leaped from the water’s surface and landed smoothly on her feet.

The shuttle retracted all the blue thread, spun in a circle, and returned to its place behind her.

Other than being soaked to the bone, the Young Lady was completely unharmed.

Mo Ling stared at the familiar Young Lady, unable to contain his shock.

"Li Xiangyi?"

’Why is she here?’

’Isn’t this the past?’

In that instant, the Shadow of the future and the past overlapped in Mo Ling’s mind.

He looked at the Little Elf in disbelief. "This is the human ’her’?"

The Little Elf nodded, gratified. "That’s right. The human her. Now, she should be here to finish what was left undone."

Before the Little Elf had even finished speaking, Li Xiangyi was already in motion.

With a wave of her hands, all the slender shuttles behind her flew out, crisscrossing through the sky.

The multicolored shuttles traced curves through the air. The threads wound around them unspooled in their wake, weaving together.

They gradually formed a colorful net of gossamer.

It was just like what the gossamer creature had done before, only this net had changed from Purple to a rainbow of colors.

Unlike the previous all-encompassing sheet of gossamer, this colorful net seemed somewhat thin, almost difficult to see as it floated in the air.

However, when Li Xiangyi commanded the net to cover the land, a breathtaking scene unfolded.

Black threads drilled into the shells, burrowing deep into the ground. A moment later, a pitch-black energy was drawn out.

As the threads, now growing darker, intertwined with threads of other colors, this energy was rapidly transferred everywhere.

The brown threads transformed into long dragons of soil that slithered across the hard shells. Wherever they passed, they left behind a thick layer of earth, which quickly covered the pale, shell-strewn ground.

The green threads followed the earth dragons, scattering green starlight that burrowed into the soft ground.

Yellow and blue threads followed close behind. Sunlight and water stimulated the green starlight in the soil, causing it to instantly expand. All sorts of different plants sprouted from the ground and began to flourish.

The red threads rose into the air alone, gathering into a ball. They then began to emit a soft, warm light. This light held a powerful allure, drawing small creatures out from the dunes.

Upon seeing these creatures, the white threads wrapped around them, transforming them into all sorts of different species. The once-monotonous animal population suddenly teemed with vitality.

And that wasn’t all. Other strange threads were also producing astonishing effects...

Just like that, on a bed of white shells, Li Xiangyi had created a vibrant Oasis from nothing.

She stood like a goddess in the center of the Oasis, watching it all unfold. The flying shuttles spun around her like orbiting planets.

The intertwining threads continued to repeat the process, and soon the entire area within the ring-shaped salt lake was covered by the Oasis.

Mo Ling was utterly shocked as he watched this Creator-like act.

"What did she draw from underground?" That pitch-black energy seemed to be the source of the power used to create the Oasis.

The Little Elf beside him rested its chin in its hand and replied nonchalantly:

"Turtle jelly."
