Chen Changsheng brought the soul clutched from the Evil Hand back to Yun Manor.

The Black Dog seemed to sense something and couldn’t help giving Chen Changsheng an extra glance.

It hadn’t even been that long, had it?

He thought about it. Maybe the Ghost Sword Immortal was right; sticking close to this man probably wouldn’t lead to any trouble.

The Tabby Cat swayed its way over to Chen Changsheng and asked, “Good Human Chen, did you catch the zombie?”

“I caught it,” Chen Changsheng nodded.

He then looked at the Tabby Cat and asked, “Do you know what that Evil Hand is?”

The Tabby Cat thought for a moment and said, “Mo Yu won’t let me say.”

Hearing this, the Black Dog froze.

He quickly stepped forward, covered the Tabby Cat’s mouth, and said, “No such thing, we don’t know.”

Chen Changsheng looked at them both and shook his head with a light laugh, saying, “It’s fine if you don’t want to tell.”

He truly didn’t mind.

Ultimately, letting this cat and dog stay here was just because he, Chen Changsheng, was bored.

Mo Yu paused for a moment. He thought they wouldn’t escape unscathed.

After Lihua spoke like that, he expected to be thrown out, or at least pressured.

But this guy named Chen…

Just brushing it off so lightly?

Mo Yu paused, asking, “Shouldn’t you be kicking us out, or questioning me?”

“What’s the need for that?” Chen Changsheng asked. “Besides, staying here alone at Yun Manor is quite dull. Even though Tabby isn’t too bright, it genuinely helps relieve my boredom.”

Hearing this, Tabby Cat felt a little embarrassed inside.

It stretched out its paw and nudged Mo Yu.

Mo Yu understood what Tabby meant and then patted its head.

Mo Yu looked at Chen Changsheng and asked, “You have the right to ask again.”

“Ask what?”

“About that arm.”

“Hmm…”

Chen Changsheng looked at him with a smile, saying, “I don’t feel like knowing anymore.”

Mo Yu was stunned by these words and immediately grew annoyed.

He said angrily, “Well, I insist on telling you!!”

Chen Changsheng raised a finger to his lips, making a quieting sound. “Shhh.”

Mo Yu was about to speak, but suddenly froze.

“Mm, mm, mm…”

He found he couldn’t speak.

He stared wide-eyed at Chen Changsheng in disbelief.

Mo Yu stood stunned for quite a while.

“Mm, mm…”

He made muffled sounds in his throat, but no words came out.

All he managed was constant grumbling.

Chen Changsheng watched Mo Yu’s flustered expression and figured the muffled sounds were probably a stream of curses.

Anyway, no matter what Mo Yu might be thinking.

Chen Changsheng was delighted.

Tabby Cat blinked at Mo Yu, confused. “Mo Yu, why aren’t you speaking?”

Chen Changsheng echoed Tabby Cat. “Mo Yu, why aren’t you speaking?”

Mo Yu: “…”

He was utterly fed up with this silly tabby cat.

“Huh?”

Tabby Cat turned its head to Chen Changsheng, squinting its eyes suspiciously. “Why are you copying me?”

“Why are you copying me?” Chen Changsheng repeated.

“!!!”

Tabby Cat’s eyes widened. It snorted lightly. “Childish! Tabby won’t play with you.”

Mo Yu cast a helpless glance at the man and the cat.

The corner of his mouth twitched. He then headed for the doorway, flopped down on the ground, and paid them no further mind.

“Mo Yu, wait for Tabby! Heave ho…”

Tabby Cat followed behind Mo Yu and also settled down near the door.

Chen Changsheng chuckled, leaned back in his chair, and let out a sigh of relief.

“Hmm…”

Chen Changsheng raised his hand and turned it over. A soul appeared on his palm.

This soul wore Daoist robes, his hair pure white, carrying a distinguished immortal aura. He didn’t look like an evil practitioner at all.

Chen Changsheng asked Jian Shenghua, then asked Manyue, but neither of them recognized this man.

Seeing this, Chen Changsheng drew out a wisp of Magical Power and infused it into the man’s soul.

After a moment, the soul consciousness stirred awake.

Yin Mingcheng looked around blankly, feeling dazed and utterly unaware of what had happened.

In his next dazed moment, he instinctively reached to touch himself.

“My mortal body?!”

Yin Mingcheng jolted fully awake. Suddenly, he realized he was resting upon someone’s palm.

“You…”

Yin Mingcheng looked at Chen Changsheng. “Who are you?”

Instead of answering, Chen Changsheng countered, “That’s the first question out of your mouth?”

Hearing this, Yin Mingcheng pondered briefly, then suddenly realized.

“Of course!”

“It was that Evil Spirit!”

Fragmented memories rushed back.

Yin Mingcheng looked down at himself, then regarded Chen Changsheng cautiously. “So, are you the one who captured me… or the one who saved me?”

Chen Changsheng looked at him and said, “You don’t seem too skilled at speaking. It was I who pulled you out of the Evil Hand’s grip. Putting aside the fact you didn’t introduce yourself, and now you keep questioning me? What’s the meaning of this?”

Yin Mingcheng opened his mouth, embarrassed. Then he quickly added, “My apologies for the disrespect.”

He then began explaining his origins.

“I am Yin Mingcheng, cultivating at the Azure Phoenix Palace. I suffered a sneak attack by an Evil Spirit and fell unconscious afterward. I remember nothing of what happened next.”

“The Azure Phoenix Palace…”

Something clicked in Chen Changsheng’s mind. He asked, “You’re not the Senior Brother of the Azure Phoenix Palace?”

Yin Mingcheng paused. “Sir Immortal has heard of this humble Yin?”

Chen Changsheng said, “While arriving on a Sky Skiff, I encountered cultivators from your Immortal Mountain. They said their Senior Brother died by an Evil Spirit’s hand, and they were searching everywhere for the fiend.”

Yin Mingcheng hesitated, then continued, “Could I trouble Sir Immortal to send me back to the Azure Phoenix Palace? Upon my return, I will offer a substantial reward.”

Chen Changsheng shook his head. “I don’t have that kind of spare time.”

“Sir Immortal…”

Yin Mingcheng opened his mouth to plead further.

Just then, a voice came from outside the door.

“Mr. Chen? Is Mr. Chen here?”

Yun Li had gone to report the matter of the Evil Hand to the Inner Mountain and then hurried back to see Mr. Chen.

With a casual wave of his hand, Mr. Chen had the door swing open.

Entering the room, Yun Li respectfully bowed to Mr. Chen. His gaze then landed on the soul resting on the man’s palm.

“Sir, what is this…?”

“Pulled right out of the Evil Hand,” Chen Changsheng stated. “This man claims to be a cultivator from the Azure Phoenix Palace, victim to an Evil Spirit before. He’s forgotten everything else, including how he ended up trapped inside the Evil Hand. His memory’s lost.”

Yun Li observed the soul.

Yin Mingcheng gave a small bow. “Greetings, young friend.”

Yun Li turned to Mr. Chen and asked, “Sir, what’s his name?”

“Yin Mingcheng, Senior Brother of Azure Phoenix Palace,” Chen Changsheng replied.

Yun Li considered this. “I’ll go ask the Outer Mountain stewards shortly, see if they have a record of this person.”

Hearing that, Yin Mingcheng interjected, “Please investigate thoroughly, young friend. All I ask is to return to my Immortal Sect as swiftly as possible.”

Yun Li said, “If what you say checks out, we’ll send you back.” He glanced at Mr. Chen, seemingly asking for confirmation with his look.

Chen Changsheng met his gaze with a faint smile that held a deeper meaning.

Yun Li instantly understood.

This person probably wasn’t telling the truth!
