Without hesitation, Theodore immediately ran into the house to check on Roxanne and Geoffrey, who had entered the house first. Although Theodore had given them weapons to protect themselves, if there were zombies that had power, it would be difficult for them to defeat them.

"What happened?" Theodore immediately ran towards Roxanne and Geoffrey, who fortunately were not too far into the house.

Theodore still hadn’t realized what was happening; his gaze only fixed on Roxanne and Geoffrey, who were standing there raising their swords, ready to fight.

"There’s someone else in this house," Roxanne whispered softly to Theodore, who was next to her, looking very worried at the moment.

Only when he heard that did Theodore choose to look up and look towards the front and he could see that there were 3 other people inside this house. Theodore didn’t expect there to be other people in this area.

"We don’t mean any harm; we just want to rest after being chased by zombies all day," Theodore said kindly; he didn’t want the three people to feel threatened by their arrival.

"Everyone will say that, but in fact, they will try to kill us," said the only woman among the three.

Roxanne and Geoffrey turned to Theodore and glared at him. Seeing that Theodore only grimaced, not expecting him to say the wrong words this time.

"Then we’ll leave if you don’t want us here," Theodore replied, finally choosing to give in rather than kill innocent people.

"Are you sure you want to leave, brother? It’ll be hard for us to find a safe place again later," Geoffrey said, turning his head fully towards Theodore.

"It’s better that way than disturbing people who are already in this place." Roxanne agreed with Theodore’s words.

The three people inside the house began to think and whisper as they saw Theodore and the others begin to leave. Until finally one of the tall men stopped Theodore and the others.

"If you really came here to rest, I will allow it. It’s just that tomorrow morning you have to leave this place," said the tall man in a cold voice.

Theodore turned around and tried to smile kindly, "Thank you. Believe me, we have no bad intentions." Theodore was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief this time.

Although Theodore was okay with not resting, Roxanne and Geoffrey were in dire need of rest, considering that they must not have gotten enough rest because they had to meet him in the middle of the night.

"You can rest here, and we will keep an eye on you. Please don’t try to negotiate on this," said another man from the group.

"No problem, right?" Theodore turned to Roxanne and Geoffrey, who were behind him. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"As long as we can sleep, I have no problem," Geoffrey replied, nodding his head, not objecting at all.

Roxanne just nodded her head. To be honest, she was already exhausted. Not only that, Roxanne felt that her stomach had been rumbling since earlier.

Since no one objected to the conditions given by the three people, Theodore and the others decided to rest in the living room of the house and asked permission to move the sofa and table there; fortunately, they allowed it.

Theodore saw that his friends were fragile. He thought that they should eat first before going to bed because they must be starving after what happened that day.

"Should we eat first?" Theodore asked as he looked at Roxanne and Geoffrey in turn.

Eagerly, they both nodded their heads with sparkling gazes; they knew how delicious the food Theodore cooked was.

It didn’t take long for Theodore to take out several kinds of food; he had previously prepared food for them to eat because he already knew that they would escape from the base, and that required a lot of food supplies.

Theodore slowly took out a large bowl of fried chicken, baked potatoes, fresh salad, and some fruit.

"You’ve prepared a lot of food, brother!" Geoffrey’s eyes lit up when he saw that there was a lot of food in front of him. It was a coincidence that he was starving at the time.

"It’s not wrong to follow you!" Roxanne excitedly grabbed a fried chicken and ate it with gusto.

Theodore just chuckled and started eating with his friends. Honestly, Theodore had intentionally done this in front of the three people who owned this house. He wanted to lure them with food.

Sure enough, as Theodore expected, the three people seemed interested in the food he put out. Theodore knew that it would be tough for these people to survive outside the base like this.

Not only that, but the effect was immediate as Theodore noticed that the tall man who seemed to be their leader walked up to Theodore and cleared his throat softly.

"Do you need our help?" Theodore turned his head and spoke kindly.

"This sounds shameless, but can we come to eat with your group? My friends are very hungry because it’s very difficult to get food these days," explained the tall man, holding back his embarrassment as he spoke to Theodore.

"No problem, come and eat with us." Theodore secretly grinned as he had not expected it to be this easy to lure them to him.

"Thank you," said the tall man and immediately called his two friends to join Theodore and the others.

Because of the additional people, Theodore also shifted closer to Geoffrey so that the other three people could join them.

Geoffrey, who was next to Theodore, whispered softly to Theodore, "Is it okay to let them eat with us?"

"No problem, we have plenty of food anyway," Theodore replied back, whispering to Geoffrey, who looked curious.

After that, Geoffrey just nodded his head, said nothing more to Theodore and focused on eating.

The three people shyly ate with Theodore and the others. Theodore who saw that started to open his voice.

"Don’t be too reluctant. I have enough food, so eat as much as you like," Theodore said then.

"Did you prepare this beforehand?" Roxanne turned to Theodore.

"Of course, we’re going from the base, so you made a lot of preparations," Theodore replied, nodding his head.

"So you guys are from the base?" came the voice of one of the three strangers.

Theodore and the others were quite confused as to how they should address the three people at the moment.

"Ahh, stupidly, I forgot to introduce myself. You can call me Maxwell, this is Collin, and this is Violet." The tall man who introduced himself as Maxwell also introduced his other friends to Theodore.

"You can call me Theodore, and these are Roxanne and Geoffrey," Theodore replied while introducing himself to his friends.

"So you guys are from the base?" Maxwell repeated his question.

"Yes, we’re from the base. Why don’t you go to the base? It will be easy for you to get food supplies there," Theodore said later.

"Not only that, the security there can make you all safe from the zombies," Roxanne agreed with Theodore.

Maxwell and the others looked sluggish and sighed when they heard those words. There seemed to be another reason why they didn’t ask for protection at the base.
