In The Apocalypse With My Sacred Dimension System
Chapter 190: To The D
Since their departure from the border town, Theodore had been slowly teaching Roxanne and Geoffrey how to activate his magic scrolls so that he would not have to do it himself, given that he had to drive this car.
"How? Can you guys do it?" Theodore, who was still seriously driving, glanced at Roxanne and Geoffrey.
"I think we can do it, it’s actually not that difficult," Roxanne said, nodding her head with some hesitation.
"But why do I feel that you’re still hesitating like that?" Because the streets this time were not too congested with zombies, Theodore was able to relax a little and turned his head to look at Roxanne, who was sitting next to him.
"I don’t know. From what you said, it seems easy, but I don’t know how it will be when I cast the spell in a real situation," Roxanne explained, then shrugged her shoulders indifferently.
"Don’t worry, I’ll help Roxanne if she gets stuck," Geoffrey said from the back of the passenger seat.
"Besides, is there any problem with the route?" Theodore then turned the conversation to the route they were about to take.
"As long as the zombies don’t interfere with our journey, the route won’t be a problem," said Geoffrey, still focused on the tablet in his hand.
Theodore realized that the zombies on the streets were still numerous, as usual. This was seen after they exited the last town area before they left City A. Theodore could still handle this by driving his car at high speed.
"You better be careful, sis. Our journey to City D will be quite long, and the road that connects us to it is surrounded by forests," Geoffrey said after a long silence.
Honestly, Theodore, as a rich kid, had never traveled long distances by car; he could just buy a plane ticket if he wanted to go where he wanted.
So Theodore didn’t know that the road connecting City A to City D would be surrounded by forests; actually, if they went through that road before the apocalypse, then it would look shady and soothing.
But, considering that the world was currently in the middle of an apocalypse then Theodore could already imagine how terrible it would be for them to pass through the road which was surrounded by forests on the right and left.
Moreover, the zombies were already in their first stage of evolution, so Theodore could imagine that they could already think of a simple plan to intercept their car later.
"But I haven’t seen the forest yet? Is it still far enough away?" Theodore looked around and there were only a few buildings which were rest stops.
"After this. You see in the distance, the forest is already slightly visible," Geoffrey said as he pointed towards the front there to show Theodore.
"Gosh I didn’t expect that it was a forest. I think we should stop here first for gas," Theodore said and decided to stop at the rest area first.
"I think there will be a lot of zombies in this place," Roxanne said, not surprised that Theodore intended to stop at this suspicious place first.
"Of course, we have to kill at least a hundred zombies first before we can get gasoline," Geoffrey replied while rolling his eyes lazily.
Theodore, who was listening to that, just chuckled; it was actually not too difficult to find a gas station because this area was a rest area made for people to rest and fulfill their needs when traveling between cities.
"Come on, it won’t be that bad," Theodore said finally. He turned the car into one of the gas stations in the area.
"Don’t forget to bring your swords," Theodore continued, reminding Geoffrey and Roxanne to bring their swords when getting out of the car.
"I won’t forget this sword, if it means I choose to die," Geoffrey replied following Theodore out of the car, he carried the black sword and left his tablet in the car.
After the three of them got out of the car, they were immediately greeted by zombies dashing towards them with disgusting faces.
It seemed like Roxanne and Geoffrey had gotten used to their swords. They no longer looked hesitant or afraid when using the sword to cut the zombies’ necks.
"You guys fill up the car with gas, I’ll take care of it." Theodore immediately ordered Roxanne and Geoffrey to fill their car with gas.
"Be careful, I see a lot of them coming." Roxanne reminded Theodore to be careful because the noise they made was enough to attract the attention of the zombies living in this place.
At first, they did well, and nothing unusual happened. Theodore could handle the zombies coming towards them. Then, Geoffrey also took good care of Roxanne, who was waiting for their tank to be full.
It was just when they were almost done filling up their car’s tank that they heard someone calling for help in the distance.
This was the first time they heard someone asking for help, so they immediately froze in their places and looked at each other.
"I’m just making sure but you guys also heard that cry for help, right?" Geoffrey, who was afraid of ghosts, immediately said what was on his mind.
"Yeah, from what I heard it seems like there are other people up ahead," Theodore said then, still busy killing the zombies that kept coming.
"Shouldn’t we help them?" Roxanne’s face took on a worried look as she heard the voice calling for help more clearly. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"I don’t think so," Theodore replied, feeling that it wasn’t their business to help others because he couldn’t just trust others in the midst of a destroyed world like this.
"There’s nothing wrong with us helping them. After all, they’re ahead of us, and we’ll pass that place," Roxanne replied, still unwilling to give up on her rescue idea.
"Whatever, what matters is whether the tank is full?" Theodore chose to ask what was more important to him.
"Yes, I’ve finished filling the tank to the brim," Roxanne replied, having finished her part.
"Alright now get in the car, I’ll catch up after finishing this zombie." Theodore slowly walked back towards his car.
The zombies around Theodore also followed Theodore’s movements, but when he was next to the steering wheel door, he immediately used his Wind Slash skill and knocked the zombies around him back five meters.
Theodore immediately took advantage of that moment to get into the car, then he quickly started the car pressed the accelerator hard, and drove away from the gas station.
It was quite easy for Theodore to avoid the zombies chasing from the gas station, he then glanced at Roxanne who was sitting beside him.
"Are you still thinking of seeing the person who cried for help?" Theodore asked Roxanne seriously this time.
"Yes, we can’t just leave them alone. No matter what, we need to save more humans so that our numbers won’t be further eroded by these damn zombies," Roxanne replied, still firm in her thinking.
"It’s fine if you think that way. Geoffrey, do you know where that person is?" Theodore also asked Geoffrey to find that person’s whereabouts.
"Of course. I’ll guide you there!" Geoffrey, with a big smile on his face, immediately and excitedly guided Theodore to the person’s location.
