Chapter 197: Sun Down

As long as the sun was above them, their surroundings were safe and peaceful and there were no strange zombies chasing them last night. Mostly it was just ordinary zombies that emerged from behind destroyed cars.

Several times, Theodore had to stop to make emergency stops for his two friends. Meanwhile, Theodore himself could take care of himself by entering his sacred dimension.

And now the sky has begun to show signs of change. The sun that protected them had started to set and would be replaced by the dim light of the moon.

"All of you get ready. It will be nightfall soon," Theodore said in a severe voice, reminding his two friends to prepare for their actions tonight.

"Are you sure we can successfully execute this plan?" Roxanne asked with a hint of doubt in her voice.

"There is no other choice. You guys also sensed that they were stalking us from the darkness, right? I’m sure they’ll bring more zombies to attack us tonight," Theodore explained with an uneasy feeling in his heart.

"Is it just that these lights are enough to scare them away?" Geoffrey spoke up this time.

"I hope it’s enough. Now I want you to kill them no matter what, just use those magic arrows, we don’t have to worry anymore," Theodore replied then.

From their observations, the strange-shaped zombies were afraid of light. That’s why they didn’t come out after them when the sun appeared.

After learning about this, Theodore looked for a spotlight at the system store and immediately installed it around his car to deter the zombies from approaching their vehicle.

Not only that, Theodore and the others also agreed to carry out the massacre tonight. They thought this way after realizing that the zombies hiding in the dark were stalking them secretly all this time.

Inevitably, they had to kill them already. They didn’t do anything crazy to kill them.

"This time I will help Geoffrey and join him in shooting the zombies," Roxanne said, already determined to join Geoffrey in exterminating the zombies.

"I entrust this attack to you two." Theodore nodded his head in understanding after he heard Roxanne’s words.

It was just that Theodore thought that their problems would not be solved just like that, even though they had planned this attack on the zombies.

Theodore wanted to get out of this forest as soon as possible, but he really had a bad feeling about it. Especially with the appearance of the strange zombies earlier, Theodore felt that there were indeed strange things happening in this forest.

"Geoffrey, when do you think we can get out of this forest?" Theodore then asked this to Geoffrey who chose to remain seated on the back bench.

"If we keep up this pace, we should be out of this forest by tomorrow afternoon. As long as tonight goes well, we can get out tomorrow," Geoffrey explained as he scanned their route on the tablet in his hand.

"Then tonight we can’t fail. I’m sick of being in this forest," Theodore replied as he clenched his hands on the wheel.

"Even so, you must be careful of the low branches sticking out onto the road," Theodore continued, still concerned for the safety of his two friends.

"For that I hope you can help warn us," Roxanne chuckled softly.

Theodore just laughed and let them chat casually while waiting for the sun to completely set.

At that moment Theodore chose to communicate with the system, he thought that the situation tonight would be quite dangerous for them, so it seemed that he needed a little help from the system.

"System, do you know what happened to this forest?" Theodore began his conversation with the system.

[From the information the system gathered while the host was driving around this forest. The system detected a dangerous figure here, not only that this forest has also been contaminated by something]

"What do you mean by this forest has been contaminated?" Theodore was honestly shocked when he heard the system’s explanation.

Theodore had never heard information about something like this before, even in his previous life. So Theodore really didn’t understand what the system meant at the moment.

[The system still can’t confirm it; this is just a temporary guess. The system hopes that the host will be more aware of the trees in this forest. They will be more dangerous if this forest is really contaminated]

Theodore was silent when he heard the explanation from the system. He did not expect the system to tell him something essential like this.

Theodore needs to be more aware of his surroundings. So far, Theodore had only been wary of the zombies chasing them, and he believed there was indeed a powerful presence in this forest, but he didn’t think that this forest would be polluted.

It turned out that their journey tonight was more dangerous than what Theodore thought before, he hoped they could get through tonight well.

"Look at those zombies already starting to reveal themselves!" Geoffrey shouted while pointing towards the back of their car.

Theodore immediately glanced at the rearview mirror of his car, and sure enough, he could see the zombies crawling from the forest and started chasing their car, which was traveling at a fairly fast speed.

Meanwhile, Roxanne, who was sorting the arrows they were going to use, also looked back, and she could see the dark faces of those strange zombies.

"Should I go out now and start beating them up?" Geoffrey was eager for action, so he immediately asked Theodore.

"As long as you’re ready. Our situation won’t be too difficult if we quickly reduce their numbers at this early stage," Theodore replied, nodding his head.

"Then I’ll be right out!" Geoffrey carried the crossbow with him and exited the open roof of the car.

For starters, Geoffrey immediately used a fire magic arrow and aimed at the center of the horde of zombies chasing their car. The distance between them and the zombies was still quite far, so it was easy for Geoffrey to aim at them.

The fire magic arrow shot quickly towards the moving zombies and in an instant after the arrow hit one of the zombies, it exploded and emitted flames towards the surrounding zombies.

The dark and cold forest began to brighten and heat up that night. Geoffrey grinned happily when he saw his shot hit the target he wanted.

Geoffrey should have used the opportunity he had. He immediately continued his attack to bombard the many zombies.

Although Geoffrey’s attack was effective against the zombies, they did not die immediately after being hit by the magic attack. Geoffrey needed to shoot 4 to 5 magic arrows to kill one strange zombie.

From this alone, they could conclude that these zombies had a more vigorous resistance than ordinary evolved zombies. Theodore also thought that the system’s words about the contaminated forest really happened.
