Chapter 208: Face It or Leave It?

Fortunately, Roxanne finished casting the spell from the magic scroll in time when the brawling people started attacking their car. Theodore and the others were utterly shocked when they saw how those people brutally attacked them.

"Why are you doing nothing, bro?! Come on, let’s get out of this place!" Geoffrey trembled with fear when he saw how many people were rushing at the window on his side.

"Damn it! I can’t help but crash into them then," Theodore said, still hesitant to step on the gas pedal because he didn’t want to kill another human being.

Although Theodore found it difficult to trust humans and had no intention of befriending them, he also didn’t think about killing humans because he knew that in this destroyed world, there was still a need for humans to continue to maintain life on this earth.

Seeing Theodore’s hesitation, Roxanne thought to say, "Then we better leave them like that. Maybe they will leave on their own if they don’t get a response from us."

"I prefer that. Geoffrey, duck down. If not, hide underneath so you can’t see them," Theodore said, then gave the choice to Geoffrey, who looked scared.

Geoffrey quickly chose to hide under the dashboard, not wanting to see the people who surrounded their car at this time.

Meanwhile, Theodore and Geoffrey remained in their places while watching the behavior of the people who looked crazy. For some reason, Theodore felt strange when he saw these people.

They weren’t zombies because there were no signs of being infected with the virus, but Theodore could tell that these people were crazy because he could see their eyes, depicting an apparent madness. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Moreover, their actions were so brutal and unforgiving that they had no problem killing each other.

"These people are peculiar," Roxanne said subconsciously. Horror could be seen in her eyes as she looked at the people storming their car at the moment.

"This city is not safe. We should leave this city as soon as possible," Theodore replied worriedly; he was thinking of leaving this city quickly.

"Honestly, I was thinking the same thing. I’d rather fight zombies than these crazy people," Roxanne replied with a shudder as she glanced at the people who were still going crazy.

Theodore unconsciously nodded his head. He was really uncomfortable being in this place right now.

It took about an hour for the people to start moving from their vehicles. They moved because they saw other people coming or other vehicles passing on the road.

Theodore could see that those people would chase after anyone or anything that passed in front of them. As soon as the fight opened, the men started fighting each other again.

Fortunately, Theodore’s car was protected by a magic scroll; otherwise, their car would have ended up like one of the cars caught by these crazy people. The car was completely destroyed, and the person inside was pulled out and beaten to death.

It was only when the people were no longer paying attention to them, and they were also far enough away, that Theodore dared to drive the car back and sped up as fast as he could to escape from the road.

Roxanne was so anxious when their car started moving that she immediately looked back to see what was happening back there.

Fortunately, only a few people were chasing them and slowly disappeared after the car driven by Theodore made a sharp turn and disappeared from the road.

"They’re not chasing us!" Roxanne shouted in relief when she didn’t see anyone else chasing them.

"Thank goodness. Luckily, there are other people there who can distract them. Geoffrey, you can ride again. I need your help to get out of this damn city." Theodore extended his hand towards Geoffrey to help him back into his seat.

"They’re really gone?" Geoffrey asked hesitantly, wanting to confirm the surroundings.

"Yes, we’ve gotten away from them." This time, it was Roxanne who answered Geoffrey’s question.

After hearing that, Geoffrey ventured out of his hiding place and sat back in his chair. The first thing Geoffrey did was turn his head towards the window to make sure there were no more crazy people there.

Only then did Geoffrey breathe a sigh of relief when he could only see the deserted city behind the window next to him. Geoffrey quickly grabbed his tablet and directed Theodore to the town exit.

"If I had known the situation in D City was like this, I would have suggested we go through N City instead!" Geoffrey grumbled incoherently as he himself was busy with the tablet in his hand.

Theodore just pretended not to hear Geoffrey’s ramblings; he also did not expect that the situation in City D would be pretty terrible like this. Fortunately, Geoffrey directed Theodore to the fastest way they could get out of this city.

Because he already knew how D City was, Theodore decided that they didn’t need to rest and would drive all day so that they could leave this city today. Their journey was quite long because D City was not a small city.

Actually, from the time before the world was destroyed, D City was famous for its crime. The city was rich because there were many casinos there. But Theodore didn’t think that the town could remain terrible even if the world was destroyed like this.

The atmosphere in the car was quite tense because the crazy people could come back and make a scene anywhere, so they all stayed alert even though they were in a car protected by a magic scroll.

In the midst of the silence, there was suddenly a voice from the very back of their car, a little girl’s voice greeting them hesitantly.

"Hello, can I come with you?" A little girl around Geoffrey’s age suddenly appeared from behind Roxanne’s seat with a body full of blood.

Theodore saw her in the rearview mirror, and he quickly hit the brakes hard, causing all the passengers in the car to be pushed forward and hit whatever was in front of them.

"Damn it! How did you get into our car?" Theodore ignored Roxanne and Geoffrey, who were complaining of pain. He immediately turned back to look at the teenage girl who was staring at him with a flat stare.

The teenage girl tilted her head in confusion, then pointed at the glass at the back that was no longer there, "I entered through there when those crazy people left your car," explained the girl, still without emotion.

Theodore felt strange about the girl. He immediately summoned his sword from the sacred dimension and pointed it towards the girl’s neck.
