Infinite Rebate: I Get Richer Every Time I Spend
Chapter 70: The Warning Call
The moment the call connected, Lucas immediately pressed the phone to his ear.
"Xavier?"
For a brief second, there was silence. Then Xavier’s voice came through. Calm. The kind of calm that made people nervous.
"Lucas. Did you get into a fight with members of the Vayne Clan today?"
Lucas froze. His grip on the phone tightened instinctively. He had thought Blake and Jade were exceptionally skilled fighters. Now it seemed things were much more complicated than that.
"Yes." Lucas nodded before realizing Xavier couldn’t see him. "I fought two people. They were stronger than normal fighters. I didn’t know they belonged to some clan."
There was another short silence.
Then Xavier let out a long sigh.
"That’s troublesome."
Lucas’ heart sank. For Xavier to describe something as troublesome, it definitely wasn’t good news.
"What happened?"
Xavier spoke seriously. "The Vayne Clan isn’t an ordinary martial arts family. They’re part of the strongest ancient clans in the region."
"The two people you fought today were probably younger clan members."
"If the clan decides to investigate further, they won’t send people at that level next time."
Lucas felt a chill run down his spine. The Blake he fought today had already been incredibly powerful. If stronger people came, he wasn’t confident he could win.
Xavier continued. "Listen carefully. For now, you are not safe."
"Don’t stay alone tonight."
"I’ll have Bianca come to your location immediately."
"She’ll protect you until I arrive tomorrow."
Lucas exhaled heavily. The situation had escalated much faster than he expected. A simple conflict with Kai had somehow led him into a confrontation with an ancient martial clan.
"Understood. I’ll send my location now."
The call ended shortly afterward. Lucas immediately forwarded the villa address to Xavier.
Only then did Lucas lower his phone.
Money could solve many problems.
But apparently not all of them.
Not when ancient martial artists were involved.
Not far away, Mason had been quietly observing Lucas the entire time. Although he couldn’t hear the conversation, he could clearly see the change in Lucas’s expression.
The excitement from purchasing the villa had completely disappeared. In its place was seriousness. Even concern.
Mason was no fool. Something had happened.
Otherwise, someone who could casually spend hundreds of millions wouldn’t suddenly look like that.
Out of courtesy, he had paused the payment process and waited.
When Lucas finally returned, Mason smiled politely.
"Lucas. Did something come up?"
Lucas forced a smile. "A little."
Then he looked at the card machine.
"The payment hasn’t gone through yet?"
Mason shook his head. "I thought it might be something important. So I waited."
A trace of gratitude flashed through Lucas’s eyes.
"Thanks."
"No problem."
Lucas took a deep breath and completed the transaction.
220 million dollars.
Transferred successfully.
The villa officially became his.
Mason immediately congratulated him. "Congratulations, Lucas."
Under normal circumstances, Lucas would have been thrilled. But now, he simply couldn’t bring himself to feel excited.
His mind was filled with Xavier’s warning.
You are not safe.
Those four words echoed repeatedly inside his head.
Blake alone had already pushed him into one of the toughest fights of his life. If actual experts from the Vayne Clan appeared, could he really handle them?
After exchanging a few final words with Mason, Lucas walked out of the villa.
The night air was cool. The luxurious villa behind him looked magnificent under the lights. Yet Lucas had no mood to admire it.
The night sky above Willow Residence was quiet.
Lucas stood outside the villa gate, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
Ever since Xavier’s warning, the excitement of buying a luxury villa had completely vanished. In its place was unease.
The Vayne Clan. An ancient martial clan. Just hearing those words made him feel pressure.
Suddenly, a distant roar echoed through the sky.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
The sound of helicopter blades grew louder and louder.
Lucas looked up.
A black helicopter was rapidly approaching from the darkness.
The powerful downdraft swept across the ground.
The helicopter slowly descended onto an empty field near the villa complex.
Lucas blinked.
"Seriously? She came in a helicopter?"
The door opened.
A slender figure stepped out.
The moment Lucas saw her, he completely forgot about the panic on his face.
For a brief moment, even the pressure from the Vayne Clan disappeared from his mind.
A woman walked out beneath the moonlight. She wore a fitted black combat suit that perfectly outlined her figure. Her long black hair flowed behind her in the night wind.
Her skin was flawless. Her facial features were sharp yet beautiful.
Her eyes carried a coldness that made people afraid to approach, yet that same coldness somehow made her even more sexy.
Every step she took carried an indescribable confidence.
Bianca was dangerous. The kind of woman that made people instinctively realize she was out of their league.
Lucas swallowed.
"Now I understand why Xavier sounded so confident..."
Bianca walked toward him without any hurry in her steps. The moonlight fell across her face, making her already stunning features appear even colder.
When she stopped in front of Lucas, she crossed her arms and looked him up and down.
Her beautiful eyes swept over him from head to toe.
Then she sighed.
"What is wrong with you lately? Why do you keep causing trouble everywhere you go?"
Her tone wasn’t angry. It sounded more like someone complaining about a troublesome child.
Lucas immediately felt awkward. For a moment, he didn’t even know how to respond.
Thinking about it carefully, Bianca wasn’t wrong. Even Lucas himself felt that his talent for attracting trouble was becoming ridiculous.
He rubbed his nose awkwardly.
"I didn’t exactly do it on purpose."
Bianca rolled her eyes. The expression was incredibly beautiful. Unfortunately, Lucas wasn’t brave enough to appreciate it for too long. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"That’s what everyone says. Yet somehow trouble always finds you."
Lucas opened his mouth. Then closed it again. Because he realized he couldn’t refute her. Not even a little.
Seeing his embarrassed expression, Bianca shook her head helplessly.
She didn’t continue the topic. Instead, she walked straight past him. As naturally as if she owned the place.
Lucas stood there blankly.
"Hey... That’s my villa."
Bianca didn’t even turn around.
"Not anymore. Tonight it’s also my workplace."
Lucas was instantly speechless.
Before he could say anything else, Bianca had already pushed open the villa gate and entered. Her movements were so natural that it felt like she had been living there for years.
Lucas could only follow behind helplessly.
Inside the villa, Bianca casually glanced around the luxurious living room. She nodded slightly.
"Not bad. You at least know how to spend money."
Then she sat down directly on the sofa. Crossing her long legs, she picked up a bottle of water from the table and opened it without the slightest hesitation.
Lucas stared at her.
For some reason, the anxiety he had been feeling since Xavier’s phone call had eased considerably.
Perhaps it was because Bianca seemed completely unconcerned about the Vayne Clan. Or perhaps it was because she was simply too calm.
Either way, watching her act as though the villa belonged to her somehow made Lucas feel that everything would be alright.
At the same time, across the city, inside Silvermont Private Hospital, the atmosphere was heavy.
Sebastian stood beside two hospital beds. His face was pale. Cold sweat covered his forehead.
Blake was lying unconscious on one bed. His entire body was wrapped in bandages. His face was swollen beyond recognition. Several ribs had been fractured. The doctors had spent hours stabilizing his condition.
On the other bed, Jade had already regained consciousness. Although her injuries were lighter than Blake’s, she was still in terrible shape.
The confidence she had possessed when leaving Mountain was completely gone.
The room was silent.
No one spoke.
Even Kai didn’t dare breathe loudly.
The scene before him had completely shattered his understanding of the world.
Those two experts whom his father had treated like gods had actually lost. And they had lost badly.
Sebastian felt his scalp go numb. He knew exactly what kind of trouble he was facing.
Blake and Jade weren’t ordinary clan members.
Especially Jade.
She was practically the treasure of the younger generation.
If something happened to her, the Vayne Clan would never let him off.
After struggling internally for several minutes, Sebastian finally gathered the courage to make a call.
The phone rang twice.
Then connected.
Alistair’s calm voice came through.
"Sebastian. Send Blake and Jade back tomorrow. I don’t want them staying outside the clan for too long."
Alistair’s tone was casual.
He clearly hadn’t realized anything was wrong yet.
