Chapter 13: Eric Gets To Live But You, Yes You! Has To Die!

Amongst the peaks of the fogged mountains and the many pavilions built upon them stood a vast forest that spanned several mountain tops. Ancient trees covered the land as thick mist flowed between them day and night. It was mainly used for hunting the remaining Frontier Beasts in the Region.

The moon hung in the sky like a blue orb as the whole Region was submerged in nighttime.

Deep within the thick forest, a young man was tied to a tree with thick ropes. He wore dented armor and had bruises on his body. Tears streamed down his eyes continuously.

Several Frontier Beasts lay dead on the ground around him, filling the atmosphere with a foul smell.

"A command echoed in his mind and ears. ’Do it now.’ Hesitantly, he activated the skills of his Class."

The young man squeezed his eyes shut. A moment later, system messages appeared before him.

[Class Skill Activated]

Blue lines spread across the ground beneath his feet and climbed up the tree like glowing roots. Insects slowly appeared and formed in front of him, increasing in number every passing second. Soon, they formed the shape of a human, and the remaining insects disappeared.

Rohan stretched his neck and rolled his shoulders as if he had merely walked through a door. Still dressed in the armor and mask, he looked sideways before turning to his hostage.

The young man immediately burst into tears. "What do you want with me? Why have you tied me here?"

Rohan tilted his head and moved toward the man, untying him. "You could have just escaped. You could have freed yourself. Why didn’t you do that?"

The man went silent and didn’t reply.

"Thought as much," Rohan chuckled darkly.

Immediately after he untied him, Man of Swarm stood up and staggered before balancing himself.

"I genuinely would have escaped, but you kidnapped me in the easiest way possible despite being a Level One. You... you—"

He stared at the dead beasts and gulped. "—you killed every single one of them without using any skills or anything. I would rather oblige than have you find me and kidnap me again. I have nowhere else to go except here. I have no other choice."

Rohan didn’t reply immediately. "So in other words, fear. You’ve made your ability to control insects through different ways useless but useful tonight. I really appreciate it."

Man of Swarm stood there for a while before finally bowing. "Thank you. So I am free now?"

"Yes, yes... go on. As long as you keep your mouth shut, I will let you live. Remember, there’s a difference between a Legendary Class holder and an Epic Class holder."

Man of Swarm smiled awkwardly. "Ah, I won’t say a word to anyone. But if you truly are Crimson Mage’s nemesis, why not kill him? Why risk just going there and leaving immediately?"

Rohan smiled behind the mask. His voice turned cold. "Why? To establish dominance. Let them fear my return."

"Oh." Man of Swarm gulped. "Well, I’ll be off then."

Man of Swarm staggered and turned to leave. After taking a few steps, he suddenly froze. A sharp pain shot through his body. He slowly lowered his eyes, which immediately widened in horror.

A white blade protruded from his stomach. Blood dripped from the tip and splashed onto the grass below.

His mouth opened, but no sound came out.

Behind him, Rohan stood silently with one hand on the sword.

"You control insects," Rohan said calmly. "For teleportation. For gathering information. For tracking people. I don’t know what else you can do."

Man of Swarm’s pupils trembled.

"Why do you think I refused to let you transport me directly to the mountain?"

Rohan leaned closer. "We were already connected through one of your insects."

The young man’s face turned pale.

"Who says you didn’t see my face?"

The White Sword twisted slightly.

"I can’t take that risk. Trust is for people who can afford mistakes."

He mercilessly pulled out the sword and stabbed him from the back of his chest, finally ending his life.

"You could have run away before seeing my face. Curiosity killed you."

Man of Swarm dropped to the ground lifeless.

[You’ve slain Level Two Awakened, Man of Swarm]

[Frontier Experience Gained: +0.99]

[Stealing Class from foe...]

[Class gained: Insect Summoner]

[Four Skills Gained: [Swarm Movement] [Insect Taming] [Insect Summoning] [Mind Sharing]]

[Stealing Frontier Points from Foe...]

[Stealing Inventory from Foe....]

His mind was immediately flooded with different names and ranks of inventories since Man of Swarm owned a store filled with them.

Rohan stretched and yawned. "Ah, what a hassle. You shouldn’t have snitched. Now I have your Class."

He started walking, not ready to go back to the dorms yet. He dismissed the White Sword and ignored the sounds of beasts deep within the forest.

"I actually did gain a lot of Class today."

He then randomly stopped and rested his back against a tree, then summoned the system.

[Name: Rohan Effiel]

[Class: Infinite Sharing]

[Level: 1]

[Inventory: 22]

[Frontier Experience: 3.1%]

[Frontier Points: 1298]

[Essence Power: 80%]

He grinned seeing the Frontier Points and Inventory. He then assessed his class.

[Infinite Sharing]

[Network Members: 1]

[Class Gained: 10]

A grim expression appeared on his face. "So I didn’t successfully kill all the guards, huh? Well, my plan worked to some degree. I was able to gain different ranks of Classes without relying on weak ones."

[Classes]

[Shadow Emperor] (Common) {Passive}

[Petty Fireman] (Common)

[Stone Shaper] (Common)

[Iron Spearman] (Common)

[Light Binder] (Common)

[Swift Runner] (Common)

[Shield Bearer] (Common)

[Kinetic Thrower] (Uncommon)

[Frost Channeler] (Uncommon)

[Earthspike Warden] (Uncommon)

[Insect Summoner] (Epic)

Knowing it would take him all night to study, he dismissed the system and got ready to go back to the dorms so as not to alert suspicion from Eric and the rest.

More importantly, he was really tired. There is a limit to what this weak body can take, and he was going hunting with a pretty fairy tomorrow.

’Kek.’

---

Soon, he arrived at the dorm and this time decided to go in through the door and not the window, knowing Eric might be back from wherever he was.

Alas, his roommate was back. The only guy who knows his Class.

Rohan might as well kill him now. No, no... let it marinate.

As he continued with his darkly playful thoughts, Eric, who was pacing back and forth, finally noticed him and jumped in fear.

"Ah, it’s you. I got scared there," he said, rubbing his chest. "Where have you been? Didn’t you hear the news about the disappearance of Hunters? We need to get to 10% and leave here as soon as possible."

Rohan yawned, now dressed in blue leather armor and looking clean, innocent, and gullible but still mature.

"Sorry I made you restless. Long queue in the bathroom. So, can I sleep now? We need to keep our strength for tomorrow’s hunting."

He said and went to sleep on his bed. No hint of remorse for making Eric worried was on his face.

Eric stood there not knowing what to say. Then he just went to his bed and slept.

"What the fuck is wrong with this dude?" he muttered, closing his eyes in annoyance and muttering words under his breath before falling asleep.

Rohan opened his eyes and turned to his friend, with an indifferent expression.

"You might just live for a little longer."
