Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Small Talk

Carter sat down at the opposite side of Kintaro.

The Silver Blade adjusted himself and leaned back. "I want to know what are the techniques you used back there."

Tenmaru returned with a tray of tea. He politely poured two cups of tea for the two of them.

"Allow us some privacy, Tenmaru."

"Yes, Master." Tenmaru bowed and left.

"The Art that I used is called Primal Art. Art of the Primal Instincts."

The Elite swordsman rubbed his beard. "I see. That’s a nice name for it. You created this?"

"I did." Carter nodded.

He actually fused it out of many types of skills and abilities. But what Kintaro said wasn’t far from the truth.

"Which Sacred Word did you use?" The swordsman asked.

"None." Carter told the truth again.

Kintaro frowned. He didn’t refute what Carter said, only working internally on what could be the case.

"You’re a Primer?" The swordsman said.

"More or less, yes. You know about them?" Carter said.

"Yes. It is not that difficult. The late Emperor learned the truth in his younger years by torturing a few Primers. We have been keeping an eye on you ever since."

"What do you think about Primers?" Carter said.

Kintaro shrugged, "Same old story. Just different flavor. Enemies from outside wanting to reach their claws inside Arashi. The only difference was these enemies are now coming from a different world. Or rather, different worlds."

Kintaro didn’t touch the tea. He stood up with hands behind his back walked in the clean courtyard.

"Arashi was able to keep its independence because we have a pretty good World Border. Only Champion or below can access this world. We are a Rank-4 World. We have many Champions in our world. Not enough to completely ignore every other Minor Worlds of course. But enough so that a full scale invasion will be rather difficult and fruitless."

Kintaro was talking from the point of view of rulers. War didn’t always yield great result. It could only be the final solution.

"So you don’t care if I am here to invade you?" Carter said.

Kintaro chuckled. Then he continued to explain.

"A successful invasion requires the acknowledgment of this world. It’s the only way for the World Key to be found. It’s also one of the reasons why some higher worlds don’t outright massacre is and upsets this world forever."

"I see."

"Enough about politics. I’m only interested in you, Musashi. I’m also a Primer. I walk other worlds many times. But I never saw a Martial Technique such as yours."

"You want it?"

"No..." Kintaro smiled. "I want to fight you."

Kintaro raised two of his right fingers, index and middle. Silver suddenly enveloped around them and formed into a long Silver Blade.

"Blade of Silver Fang. The art I created after many years of traveling the multiverses. It is my path to achieve a Champion Seed and became a Champion. It is also the reason why I have my nickname, the Silver Blade."

Kintaro flicked his wrist and the blade disappeared. "Shoma is a narrow-minded man. He never sees worlds beyond this horizon. You will fight him tomorrow."

"You’re here to beg for his life?"

Kintaro laughed again. "You’re one strong Fighter. But your awfully naive, Musashi. I want you to kill him. That little rat doesn’t know what true strength is. And he keeps bothering me. I can’t kill Shoma because of my honor. But I would like you to."

"As a wise man once told me." Carter stood up. "What’s in it for me?"

"I have the original page for a Sacred Word. Not the fake one or the one that people duplicated. The original one. You kill him for me and I give it to you."

The silver-haired man squinted his eyes. "You just want to give it to me. Why?"

Kintaro smiled, "You’re not that naive after all. Martial Arts have been in a decline recently, Musashi. People don’t care about it anymore. Now they want superpowers or immortal enlightenment. Lacking all of that strength and beauty. Even in the vast Prime Worlds.

I want to preserve it. And to help talents like you. Not vile snakes like Shoma... To excel. But of course, Shoma is strong. So I need to know that you’re talented enough to receive my gift."

The silver-haired man smiled. "I don’t like schemers and planners. If it can be solved with a fist, it should be. I would have killed you right here if you’re trying to manipulate me. But since you’re being direct, and I am interested in that page.

Consider it done."

Kintaro grinned, "Kill me? Is that a promise?"

Then the Silver Blade left. He jumped to the sky elegantly and disappeared.

From their short exchange, Carter noticed that Kintaro possessed a unique aspect just like Spiritual Invoker or Shrine Maiden. He had something like Transcension.

This made him extra dangerous, even though he was only an Elite. But in Carter’s eyes, this man had now become a larger threat than Tengo Ryuja.

’Kintaro is only an Elite. But he has a lot of potential. Killing him would be a waste. I wonder if there is another way...’

Carter couldn’t help but feel at awe when he saw talent. He was also seeing everything as a ruler since he achieved the World Key of Eldritch Arms.

’If possible, I will kill Ryuja and spare Kintaro.’

The short visit of Silver Blade ended. For the next few days, the Chuuchi Tournament continued their qualifications to round down even more contestants.

Carter taught Tenmaru to improve his current skills in between his fights. The kid grew stronger noticeably. Tenmaru was a smart young man.

Night fell on the second night.

The Elite Fighters continued to collide with each other. Kento the Fighter was there too. He used a spear this time and was actually very skillful. He was a Minor Elite but he was able to overwhelm a Medium Elite via incredible timing and precision.

And then it was time for Carter to show off again.

"Ginro Musashi vs. Sakamoto Shoma!"

The two Fighters ascended the Arena. Shoma held many blades on his body. Seventeen in total.

Carter had none.

"Prepare to be desperate." Shoma said.

The silver-haired man smiled gently then went into his stance. "Prepare to die. Turtle Style!"
