Infinite Skin System: Starting as An Eldritch Knight
Chapter 157: Enrei Inn
The long broad steel sword came at Carter. But he was too quick for Shoma this time. Carter disappeared from his location.
No one was able to track his movement. Not even Kintaro. They could only spot him when everything was done.
Shoma gasped. All the air in his lungs were drawn out. Blood dripped down on the ground from the gaping large hole in the middle of his chest.
"So fast..." Shoma said. He fell down on the ground and became a cold corpse.
"Elder!"
"Master!"
The disciples of Steel Blade Sect and Shoma’s students stood up. Their eyes widened because of the horror in front of them.
They rushed to the Arena blindly. It didn’t matter if Ginro Musashi was strong. He just killed their Elder and that must be paid by blood.
"Stop!" The referee shouted. "Shoma signed the waiver! You must not seek revenge."
"To hell with your waiver!" A disciple shouted.
They ignored the referee and climbed onto the arena.
Carter glanced over to Kintaro. The Silver Blade gave him a nod. He was basically saying he could do whatever Carter wanted.
The tiger-shaped Fighter clenched his fists. His body disappeared from its location. Three disciples flew to the air.
Carter showed mercy this time. Jado might be a lawless place. But a Fighter that went around killing people without restrains was still looking down upon. The only exception was their king Ryuja.
The other disciples took their blades out and rushed at Carter also. They couldn’t even touch him. Instead, they were sent flying off the arena and fell heavily on the ground below. Each strike was precise enough that made them unable to stand up.
The referee swiped his forehead full of sweat.
’Luckily Master Ginro is a reasonable man. If he kills all of these disciples, Steel Blade’s Grandmaster will have my head.’
"Enough." Kintaro finally spoke. "Your Elder lost. He signed the waiver. The blade knows no bound! And when it is drawn, there will be blood!"
Kintaro was using a traditional saying in Arashi. It meant that on the battlefield, there was no mercy.
"But..." A disciple’s lips trembled.
"If you have a problem with Master Ginro, call your Grandmaster over and have a fair match." Kintaro said.
The other gasped. The Silver Blade just called Musashi a master. That was enough recognition for them to back off.
"Please accept our apologies, Master Ginro." The head disciple bowed and pulled the other back.
He showed politeness but his eyes were full of rage. He would be back.
Or maybe Carter would take care the Steel Blade Sect by then.
"The winner is! Ginro Musashi!" The referee shouted.
Tenmaru smiled and clapped. He had no doubt about his victory. Even when the disciples came, he knew his Master would take care of them easily.
’I wonder who is stronger. Lady Shinto Mikoto or Master Ginro Musashi...’
His instinct told him that Musashi was stronger. But he also knew what Mikoto the Shrine Maiden was not simple. She might not be physically destructive but her powers were difficult to understand.
Tenmaru would not be surprised if Lady Shinto would be able to ask the gods to smite Musashi.
The Tournament continued as usual. But Carter had no interest in the rest of them.
"Follow me, Master Ginro." Kintaro said.
The two of them left the arenas. Tenmaru followed right behind.
Their leaving made a few people to turn their heads around. Now they knew that Kintaro knew Musashi. The rumor of a new animal style Fighter quickly spread. They called him the Zodiac Master.
Kintaro stayed in a high quality inn inside Kyoma. People called this place the most beautiful structure within the capital, only after the Royal Palace.
Carter looked up to see the tall red roof of the Enrei Inn. Beautiful women stood on the second floor windows and did all kinds of poses to attract the visitors in. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
The place was both a brothel and an inn. It didn’t have the depravity of a straight brothel however. The girls in this place sold their ’craft’ only. These crafts were mostly musical talents.
Officially the Enrei Inn did not partake in prostitution. But no one could stop the guest from having actual intimate relationships with the customers.
"I didn’t know you’re a man of culture, Master Kenzaki." Carter said.
Kintaro laughed and shrugged, "A man needs to have a hobby after all."
Tenmaru kept his eyes stayed in the front, trying to avoid looking at those alluring figures.
They rent a private room within the establishment. Kintaro called a few dancers and wine up. This man was a fiend.
He drank like he was a desperate man in a desert. And he’s fully enjoyed the alluring scene in front of him as well.
Carter also drank. But Evaporative Decompression shoved that poison out of his body at the moment it entered. He stayed composed and enjoyed his wine.
Tenmaru copied his master’s posture but he drank only tea.
Once Kintaro was satisfied after teasing the beautiful dancers, he returned to the table and took out a piece of paper.
"As promised, Master Ginro. The page for Rin."
Carter picked up the page and examined it. It was made of unknown leather with one giant single letter on it. The ’Rin’.
The letter pulsed an orange color, showcasing its power.
"An original page... How rare." Tenmaru said.
"You know about the originals, kid?" Kintaro said.
Tenmaru nodded, "There are many ways to learn the Sacred Words. The original pages are the best way. It is rumored to contain the purest principles of the Sacred Word."
Kintaro nodded, "Very precise."
When Carter’s eyes met with the letter, his mind became agitated. He finally understood what the Sacred Words were.
His Primal Spiritualization worked overtime and they absorbed the knowledge hidden beneath the strokes.
Sacred Words was a type of enlightenment. It used the power of the mind to affect the body.
This was why Carter felt Rin was very similar to Adrenaline but also different. They were basically the same thing.
But Adrenaline used Metabolism Manipulation to achieve its enhancement effect. Rin used the mind to gain the power of enhanced strength only.
In a way, Rin was a simpler mental-focused version of Adrenaline.
Carter smiled and pocketed the page, "This is very useful to me. Much appreciated."
