Chapter 165: Chapter 165: The Green Dragon

The twelve piles of silver transformed into twelve statues of Carter’s Spirit Animals.

Bear Guarido. Boar Guardian. Deer Guardian. Fox Guardian. Hare Guardian. Hornet Guardian. Ox Guardian. Snake Guardian. Spider Guardian. Tiger Guardian. Turtle Guardian. And Vulture Guardian.

Twelves of them stood on either side of the entrance hallway. The Tiger stood in the front of the right side, representing power and violence. It was the leader of the Power Guardians, Bear, Boar, Deer, Ox, and Turtle.

The Snake stood at the front of the left side, representing wisdom and trickery. It was the leader of the Wise Guardians, Fox, Hare, Hornet, Spider, and Vulture.

For some reasons, Seija could feel the power of the Snake Guardian statue calling to it. A connection was established between Shrine Maiden’s Guardian and Spiritual Invoker’s Zodiac Statues.

Carter retracted his stances. He had finished constructed the Zodiac Statues. The Zodiac Statues were the same as Divine Statues but much weaker.

Carter’s Spirit Animals didn’t have a mind of their own as well so they operated entirely on Carter’s will. That made them much less animated and influential than the statue of the Unnamed.

But the solution had presented itself.

"What’s wrong?" The silver-haired man asked Seija.

"I feel it’s calling for me..." Seija said. The Dragon Gem within Seija was also reaching out. It thirsted to fuse with that statue. Seija knew that the Zodiac Stague would accomplish something in her.

"To become a River Dragon, you must have the faith of the locals." Carter said.

This time, he wasn’t lying. He learned that through Shrine Maiden’s Transcension. That ability allowed Carter to understand many things that the ordinary people didn’t.

This world operated purely on physical prowess. The Fighters were the obvious sign. But that was only on the surface level.

The truth was that Wild Earth operated through Will and Faith. "Rin" was a manifestation of the will. The will affected the body.

That was why "Rin" could be stacked with Adrenaline. "Rin" was a mental skill while Adrealine was purely physical.

This was also true for Seija. To become a Water Dragon, or River Dragon as Carter said it, Seija must do good deeds and gained the approval of the locals of a river. She needed to build the faith of the people in her.

That faith would manifest into a Dragon Gem. Give it enough time and that Gem would become one with Seija and made her an actual River Dragon, not a River Serpent anymore.

Seina nodded at Carter’s words, "Since joining Mikoto, I have learned many things. She made me realize that Fate has arranged everything for me."

"And now. Here is your reward. Come, Seija. Take your rightful spot in the Shrine of the Gods."

The Green Serpent aproached the statue. The Dragon Gem within her pulsed even more.

Outside Giyaku, the river that was dried for hundred of years suddenly shook.

Seija was pulled within the Zodiac Statue. She and it became one. The Dragon Gem pulsed intensely, changing both the statue and Seija.

The Dragon Gem was Faith itself. But it was tainted by Ryuja. Carter intended to deal with it once he returned as Shrine Maiden.

"I can’t finish the transformation. I don’t have enough power." Seija grunted.

"You are the servants of the Gods now, Seija. Ask your Master for help." Carter said.

The silver statue turned over and looked at the obsidian statue of the Raven Knight. The silver statue opened it mouth.

"The righteous Knight above. Please assist me!" Seija shouted. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Carter smiled. He could feel her call even without switching skin. Secretly, he answered it.

The Golden Skeleton inside the obsidian statue shined brightly. Carter shared a portion of the enormous faith he had flowing from Eldritch Arms and gave it to Seija.

A gold stream climbed out of the Raven Knight statue and went into Seija.

This power completed her transformation. She detacted her self from the statue and shot out of the Shrine, leaving only a gust of wind behind.

"Where is she going?" Chiaki said.

"To find her new river." Carter said.

The Green Serpent landed on the dried river. Immediately, water flooded the area. It poured out from underground and turned this dried river into what it once was.

Seija writhed inside the water. Her green skin peeled off, scales replaced. The face of a snake slowly transformed into the face of a dragon. She grew dragon teeth and snout.

Legs burst out from the smooth green snake and claws formed.

The entire area of Giyaki trembled. A new powerful Yokai was born.

But Seija was not entirely a Yokai. She was different from those that Carter had killed. Because Seija was also a River Spirit. Similar to Kazou as Land Spirit.

She was a mix between Yokai and Nature Spirit. Seija had strength of a Yokai and the wisdom of a Spirit.

Carter arrived at the new river. Chiaki and the others also followed. Minato couldn’t help but gasp at the changes one simple act could make.

’I wonder what Master Musashi’s Sect actually practices. Heavenly Sky... It’s as if they were practitioners of Fate and Gods.’ Minato thought to himself.

"How are you, Seija?" Carter said.

The Green Dragon emerged from the water. Seija was bigger now. Her entire head could easily crush an adult man. Carter looked like a baby for her.

But the Green Dragon knew who had given her this blessings.

"Thank you, Master Ginro. I am forever grateful to you." The Dragon bowed.

Seija didn’t have any horns yet. Only a True Dragon had horns. She was only a River Dragon.

Carter patted Seija’s large head. "Don’t thank me, Seija. Because this gift comes with weight. Your responsibility is now clear. You shall give water to Giyaku. You shall protect the Shrine of the Gods."

"Of course, Master Ginro. I shall fulfill my role."

Seija leaned back and roared. Her roar caused the cloud to condense and darken. Rain fell down to this once cursed land and cleansed all of its filth away.

Seija, an Awaken Green Serpent, just jumped through two Ranks. She didnujust become an Elite. She became a Minor Champion Water Spirit.

Even Minato was in shock from finding that out. He wasted years and years to reach Champion. And this snake just got it in a few minutes.

However, he understood what Carter implied. The Raven Knight gave Seija the power to reach Champion. Without the Gods, it wouldn’t be that easy.
