Chapter 676: Chapter 676 - Wedding Preparations (Part 4)

By the time I reappeared at the temple grounds for dinner, the walls have already been built, the farmlands have been tilled, the fruit-bearing trees, saplings and seedlings have been replanted. For now, I used spells to keep the temperature and moisture of the soil in check since there are no farmers assigned to take care of them just yet.

Since I had so much time in my hands if I wanted to, I also allotted a spot in the flat fields for livestock rearing, built water wells for easier watering of plants and even carved a river connecting the waterfalls from up the mountain to a pond on the left side of the farm lands so they can keep fresh water running and take care of some fish too. I might need to ask my in-laws in Arista to sell me more seeds to fill this place up.

The next day was spent the same way in terms with the forest mission. This time, it was a new team except for Darth who ihas decided to be a main stay member. We went to the south side this time. All in all, we had the same amount of members and roles. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

We spent almost the whole day out and got a big haul of items once more. The only difference was that the last two hours before sunset was spent by me, planning the village area this time. I made another wall, this time made purely of stone similar to the fortress I made in the Larkspur territory. I paved roads and planned how land will be used efficiently. I made markings where houses can be built in the future too. I also placed wells, ready for use for the future inhabitants.

Since I am from the modern world, I added plumbing to the whole place. I can’t do nothing about the temple anymore since it has already been built but for everything else, I can definitely do something about it at least.

As for the waste, it will be siphoned back to the area of the farmlands. I used magic to create a spot where fertilizer can be taken out of endlessly as long as there are people living in the village and there are animals in the livestock area. They do not need to know what it is made of and how it is made anyways as long as the result is useful for farming.

When I returned to the temple, it was again dinner time after a very long day. I called for the second day leader of the forest foraging team called "Kyle" and was about to give instructions to create a new team for the next day when a loud series of coughs interrupted my speech.

I couldn’t help but look towards the direction of the sound, thinking it was a very sick person but saw Clarence glaring at me instead. Kyle, being glared at by the high priest, immediately excused himself as if trying to avoid an impending storm like his life depended on it.

My soon-to-be husband sat ungracefully next to me. With a gentle smile on his face that doesn’t match the glare that he is giving me at all as he spoke, "We are getting married tomorrow afternoon. Did you forget about it? Are you planning on spending the whole day in the forest again?"

Oh. I totally forgot about that tomorrow was indeed the day. My bad.

Not hearing a response from me, Clarence clicked his tongue in annoyance and said helplessly, "I never thought that you would be this addicted to working. Aren’t you going to rest even for just a bit?"

I reached for Clarence’s hand and started explaining, "I only have so many days to spend here before I have to leave for my academe immersion. I have to fit as many tasks as I possibley can while I am here because it may take some time before I could come back. Don’t worry. I will be able to rest a bit once I am in the place where the immersion will be completed."

Clarence looked at me, still not convinced that I am okay after tiring myself out for three days straight. I laughed softly and whispered, "I will go alone in the western forests tomorrow morning since I would be able to work faster that way."

He was about to complain again when I cut him off with a kiss on the lips. Clarence looked stunned which was the effect that I was aiming for. I then added, "Don’t worry. I will be here for the wedding and I won’t shortchange you during our consummation afterwads if that is what you were worrying about."

Clarence’s eyes widened as his face turned red. He started stuttering a response as he said, "Th- That- That is not what I- You! I am worried about you! Not that... That thing. You pervert!"

This time, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud which in turn, got the attention of everyone working around the dining hall. Clarence had no choice but to cover his face with both of his hands to hide his shy expression.

As I was teasing Clarence, I could feel another glare burying at the back of my head for some reason. When I looked back, Darth was standing near one of the walls just watching me speaking with Clarence. I could only sigh at the situation. I really feel more tired when my people are fighting or getting jealous with each other than a lot of physical work.

I just smiled back at Darth since I don’t have any other ideas on how to respond to him. Darth smiled back with an evil smirk, turned around and walked away. I shook my head helplessly as the one in front of me will definitely create more drama if I leave this place.

Wait a minute. Why do I find the need to explain my side to Darth when we weren’t even in THAT kind of relationship?

(A/N: You aren’t in that kind of relationship but you just grouped him together with "your people". YEAH, RIGHT.)
