Chapter 43: Investment 43— Crazed Sea Dragon (Part Two)

Geny streaked across the mini ocean. Her jagged mantis claws clashed with Leonard’s sword.

"What the hell? I could barely see her coming." Leonard managed to block her attack just on mere instinct. Her movement was so fast—sudden—that his eyes couldn’t follow.

"This is just her physical strength enhanced with mana, no spells at all, and yet I’m being overwhelmed." His knees were trembling already from the weight of her attack just as they were about to give in—a flaming sword appeared right on Geny’s torso and slammed her into a wall.

Elliot landed beside Leonard. "I thought you could use some help." He stretched forth a hand to Leonard.

"Not that I needed it." He grabbed onto Elliot’s arm. "But I really appreciate the kind gesture." He stood.

"Hmm. I accepted." Elliot smiled.

"Sorry we are late to the party." Deria’s voice boomed.

"Ohohohohoho, Futaba, don’t tell me you were having problems." She cooed mockingly.

"Bitch! The battle just started." Futaba pursed her lips.

"That means we can smash them together."

They grabbed onto each other’s hands as their mana flared intensely.

"Yo! Taumus. Took you long enough." August grinned.

"My dude, portal traffic is intense." Taumus said jokingly.

"Hello, Ice Queen. Told you we would meet again in the dungeon." Rose turned her head towards Seria.

"Well, it was quite an inevitable outcome." Seria replied with her usual ice-cold tone.

"I do hope you don’t mind my intrusion." Her crystal blue eyes tilted downwards.

"Thorns of Rose." She made the statement with nothing but pure audacity; it wasn’t a threat or challenge but a truce for cooperation.

"This is going to be a remarkable battle." Rose stroked her hair.

"18th-tier spell: Glia’s Embrace." A huge green spell circle burst forth underneath the bubble dome that August created.

Flowers and grass broke forth from the ground. The wounds of the students that lay on top of the flowers and grass started to heal, and they slowly began to regain their stamina and control over their mana.

"I removed the clog stopping your mana from circulating. I suggest you rest until all your wounds are fully healed and let us take it from here."

Edith addressed the horrified students and managed to calm them down and prevent any casualty that may have resulted from a mental breakdown.

"What a show-off." August grunted.

"It is quite illogical of you to make that statement when I just helped the masses." A wise grin tore across Edith’s face.

"It’s not my fault you can’t cast a single healing spell. Just your boring bubbles."

She pursed her lips. Her words greatly infuriated August just as she expected.

"At least I don’t steal from my academy’s archives for my own personal gain." August’s words hit her at point-blank range.

"Huh?!" She closed in on August and leaned forward. "If you wanna go, let’s go." Edith raved.

"I don’t mind, bitch!" August clenched his teeth.

"Break it up, you two." Taumus came in between them.

The rocks that fell on top of Geny’s body began to rumble. She levitated upwards surrounded by even more sinister dark energy that skyrocketed up to the point that it created numerous cracks on the dungeon walls.

An uneasy feeling crept across their skin, and their survival instincts were screaming just one thing—RUN.

Just from the mana Geny emitted, they knew she was like no other foe or monster that they had come across before.

Geny’s head was raised upwards to the ceiling. She then brought it down slowly. Both her pitch-dark eyes with white dots at the middle stared at them not as foes but as food that she would soon devour.

Her spiky hair loosened and floated upwards—like steam flowing in reverse.

She stretched forth her left mantis-like arm filled with jagged claws. "Little pet."

The sea dragon swarmed towards her like its life depended on it. Dragons were known to be very prideful, yet this dragon shattered that very logic. It answered Geny at her beck and call.

The sea dragon’s large purple eyes were filled with fear. Then she made a hand gesture telling him to come up. The sea dragon elevated itself with a water platform.

Geny flew closer to him and placed her jagged claws on its mouth. She rubbed the mouth slowly. "You have served your purpose."

She forced the mouth of the sea dragon open wide with her two arms. "It’s time to sleep forever."

She ripped the sea dragon in two halves from its mouth down to the tail. Then she bathed herself in its purple blood, mantis-like mouth wide open. She drank the blood and dropped the remains of the sea dragon into the mini ocean below.

The dark energy around her surged even higher. The dark energy that surrounded her looked like overflowing dark flames that would consume anything they touched or came in contact with.

The entirety of the cave rumbled. The cracks on the walls widened up to the point that pieces of stone began falling down on them. The dome protected the other students, so they had nothing to worry or scream about.

Yet they almost screamed their lungs out from the very sight of Geny. They lost all hope and became totally terrified.

"We are done for."

"I wished I spent more time with my mother."

"Oh Sky Father, forgive me all my sins."

"Am gonna miss the hot chocolate cappuccino." Jin cried out.

"Shut up." The other students attacked him. He clearly didn’t have any regrets if all he could think of at this dire moment was coffee.

"I am not so nice as to offer you a chance to say your last prayers." A sinister grin tore across Geny’s face extending just below her eyeballs.

She darted a finger around. "You will be the first to die." The instant she finished the statement, she was already before Elliot. Her jagged claws embedded inside his chest and tore through his heart. Her claws emerged through his back.

Crimson blood dripped slowly on the floor. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"How so weak?" Her grin widened as she saw the light of life slowly go out in Elliot’s eyes.
