Invincible Snake Emperor
Chapter 364 - 360: Adding Another Battle Companion (Part 1)
Inside the residence, the smell of seared flesh permeated the air.
Cough, cough...
Luo Zixiong, the Werewolf embedded in the wall, coughed up blood continuously. His Life Force was fading fast, leaving him incredibly weak.
The relentless barrage of heavy blows had left him on the verge of death. The last punch, in particular, had been imbued with Flame, charring the skin on his chest and inflicting a pain beyond what any ordinary person could endure.
"Stay back! Don’t come any closer!" A terrified Luo Zixiong was like a helpless piece of paper, battered and torn by a raging storm.
He watched Tu Xiao’an approach, the expression on his face like that of a smiling Demon—it sent a chill down his spine.
Suddenly, Luo Zixiong’s Demon form began to change, his body flickering with light.
In an instant, his body shrank back to its normal form.
AWOOO—
The howl of a wolf soared toward the heavens.
Tu Xiao’an paused. A giant wolf, covered head to tail in blood-red fur, lunged at him. It radiated a terrifying aura and its eyes glowed with a sinister light, its charge both Spiritual and Fierce and overwhelmingly powerful.
"Blood Moon, kill him!" Luo Zixiong roared, using the last of his strength.
Hm?
"Ding... Blood Moon Giant Wolf. The combat form of the Silver Moon Giant Wolf. Level 23. A king of the Wolf Race with a noble bloodline. A High Rank Creature."
’What a fierce wolf. Noble bloodline, a superb specimen... I like it.’
Seeing this, Tu Xiao’an neither dodged nor evaded. His bewitching eyes narrowed, and the space before him began to ripple.
The charging Blood Moon Giant Wolf was instantly frozen in mid-air. It howled again and again, its eyes filled with savagery.
"Your Level is too low. A mere Level 23 can’t break the hold of my Consciousness Power," Tu Xiao’an said with a faint smile. The Blood Moon Giant Wolf had separated from Luo Zixiong to protect its master.
Wolves are the kings of the plains, and their gaze always holds a hint of killing intent and terror.
This was clearly a Wolf King. Though it still had a long way to go before reaching its full potential and becoming a true Wolf King, it was undoubtedly a leader in its own right. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Unfortunately, this Wolf King was a general without an army; it had no pack. A single wolf can hunt a sheep, but a hundred wolves can slaughter ten thousand. Two fists are no match for four hands, and even a fierce tiger is no match for a wolf pack.
Even though it had reached the Spirit Monster Level, it was facing the Level 28 Tu Xiao’an, whose combat prowess surpassed that of an ordinary Rank Three Demon Spirit. The gap between them was as wide as a chasm.
"You’re quite impressive, but your master is nothing special. He isn’t worthy of you. How would you like a new one?"
A playful glint appeared in Tu Xiao’an’s eyes. He looked at the Blood Moon Giant Wolf suspended in the air, raised an eyebrow, and let a faint smile play on his lips.
At these words, the Blood Moon Giant Wolf’s eyes blazed with fury. It craned its neck and let out a long howl that shook the very air, but it was powerless to break the restraint of Tu Xiao’an’s Consciousness Power.
Luo Zixiong, still embedded in the wall, heard Tu Xiao’an’s words and found them strangely familiar. ’Wait, didn’t I say something just like that to the Peacock?’
’What is he trying to do? Is he trying to steal my Blood Moon Giant Wolf?!’
"Here, let me help you with that." Tu Xiao’an completely ignored Luo Zixiong. His eyes narrowed sharply once more as he unleashed a wave of Consciousness Suppression.
The Blood Moon Giant Wolf immediately began to howl. A moment later, both it and Luo Zixiong simultaneously coughed up a large mouthful of blood.
Tu Xiao’an had used his powerful Consciousness Power to shatter the Blood Contract between the giant wolf and Luo Zixiong.
"What’s going on?! What did you do? Why is the Soul Contract between me and Blood Moon gone?"
Luo Zixiong panicked, his mind going completely blank. He could no longer feel the intimate connection with his Battle Companion.
In other words, the Blood Moon Giant Wolf now had absolutely nothing to do with him.
’How did he do it? How could he break the Blood Contract with my Battle Companion? Monster... Demon!’ Luo Zixiong felt like he was going insane.
In truth, this wasn’t the first time Tu Xiao’an had broken a Blood Contract. Compared to the other man’s utter shock, he was perfectly calm and unconcerned.
"Now, submit to me. Acknowledge me as your master."
Tu Xiao’an began to forcefully subjugate the Blood Moon Giant Wolf, his Consciousness Suppression washing over it like a tidal wave.
AWOOO...
The Blood Moon Giant Wolf threw its head back and howled, its eyes still glowing with a faint, ferocious light as it desperately resisted.
"Ding... Attempt to forcefully subjugate Level 23 Blood Moon Giant Wolf has failed."
Hm?
Tu Xiao’an frowned. He had the advantage of Level suppression. If his target had been a Snake of his own race, he could have subjugated it in the blink of an eye, with no chance of resistance.
Unfortunately, his opponent was a Wolf King with a noble bloodline from a different race, which made it much harder to subjugate.
Furthermore, although Tu Xiao’an had beaten Luo Zixiong half to death, the giant wolf that had charged out was still brimming with vitality; its Essence, Qi, and Spirit, as well as its Life Force, were still flourishing.
It had withstood Tu Xiao’an’s Consciousness Suppression.
’Hmph. If that’s how it’s going to be, then don’t blame me for getting rough.’
Tu Xiao’an looked at the Blood Moon Giant Wolf suspended in mid-air and began to circulate the Power of Thunder and Lightning within his body.
"Thunder Shock..."
CRACK!
A flash of white light erupted, striking the Blood Moon Giant Wolf without warning. Its immobilized body was a living target.
CRACK... CRACK... CRACK...
Five or six bolts of Thunder rained down from above, striking the Blood Moon Giant Wolf repeatedly. The brutal assault beat the ferocious light from its eyes, replacing it with sheer terror.
"Submit to me, or die!"
Tu Xiao’an roared, his powerful Snake Race aura enveloping the Blood Moon Giant Wolf as he once again used his Consciousness Suppression for a forced subjugation.
’It seems a forced subjugation won’t work unless I beat it half to death,’ he thought.
WHIMPER...
The Blood Moon Giant Wolf fell into despair. The vast difference in their power left it completely at his mercy.
It was filled with ferocity and wildness, but before Tu Xiao’an, even a Dragon would have to coil up, and a tiger would have to lie down flat.
"Subdue!"
The suspended Blood Moon Giant Wolf, no longer able to struggle or resist, abruptly vanished.
The next moment, it reappeared, standing right in front of Tu Xiao’an.
Its blood-red fur slowly faded to a silvery white. A low, somber voice emerged from it, "Silver Wolf greets Master."
The Silver Moon Giant Wolf lowered its proud head and prostrated itself at Tu Xiao’an’s feet.
"Silver Wolf, I’m your master! Get back here, you bastard! You wretched beast!"
Luo Zixiong, still embedded in the wall, let out a roar like that of a wounded lion.
’What is happening?’ He stared, wide-eyed, as his own Battle Companion prostrated itself at the Snake Demon’s feet, wagging its tail obsequiously. All of its ferocity was gone, replaced by utter docility.
The Silver Moon Giant Wolf completely ignored Luo Zixiong’s roars, showing no reaction whatsoever.
"Stop shouting. It’s my Battle Companion now." Tu Xiao’an’s gaze shifted back to Luo Zixiong.
Luo Zixiong trembled, as if startled awake from a nightmare. "Fine! The Silver Wolf is yours! Consider it my apology for going after your Battle Companion. Just... spare my life."
This was the perfect definition of trying to steal a chicken, only to lose the rice used as bait. Luo Zixiong’s guts were turning green with regret.
’How could I have known? The so-called ’strongest new student’ is actually a Rank Three Demon Spirit... and I actually courted death by trying to capture his Peacock to give to Young Mistress Evil Qiqi.’
At this point, he didn’t care about anything else. All that mattered was saving his life. After all, where there’s life, there’s hope.
