Chapter 41: Chapter 41 - Surprise Raid (4)

Vincent watched as Werewolf sliced off his finger with a knife and let down the blood to the two bottles. He flinched inwardly, looking at the expressionless face of the Hero.

After filling up the two bottles, he gave back to Vincent and nodded with enthusiasm.

Vincent coughed and prepared a mood for the atmosphere. He dimmed the car light inside and placed the bottles in front of him.

He then clasped both of his hands and acted like he was praying to the higher form of excitement.

"Spirit of the Wolf!"

"You who wander the wild lands. You who stalk in silent shadows. Lend me your primal strength and the wisdom of your glowing eyes. Teach me to relentlessly track my desire. Show me the hidden path and the moonlight field."

"Fierce spirit! Walk with me in my solitude. Howl with me in joy."

Vincent purposely took the dramatic stance in his performance. He rubbed his nose in pride and looked at the two men.

Werewolf’s eyes were like a puppy, shining almost as if he was looking at the new toy.

In contrast, Jason shook his head and let out a sigh.

Vincent smiled and warped the bottles and placed them inside his pocket.

"The ritual is done. It is quite underwhelming. Because I don’t have the desired place to perform. Let’s hope the ritual works."

Werewolf nodded.

After the small prank by Vincent, the group of men resumes to normal. Jason was looking at the nightclub with his tired eyes. His hands reached to the guns on his waist, playing around like a child.

Vincent looked down at his watch and saw the clock reached 1:30 AM.

Time for the raid.

Vincent looked at the two and they all exchanged knowing nods and left the car.

Werewolf crossed the road and went in the direction of the Nightclub. But his goal wasn’t the front door as with his superpower the chance of him alerting Eric was high.

And with the numerous escape routes on Eric’s nightclub, they didn’t want that to happen. So, the role Werewolf was going to take was to block the escape route.

Vincent and Jason slowed down their steps and approached the nightclub.

Even when the dawn was approaching, the night of the city didn’t end yet.

Vincent felt the ground vibrated underneath as the music traveled out from the inside.

Drunken people were in all corners, throwing up or singing a song, living the best to their blissful life.

He smiled at those people.

"Stay alert, rookie. Even if I am the one drawing in attention, you need to stay sharp as well."

"Don’t worry, sir. I will stay sharp the entire time."

"Good, tell me the time."

"1:45."

"It is getting close." Jason said, standing in front of the nightclub. He took out the cigarette from his pocket and took a long puff.

He then blew to the air and looked up at the sky, ignoring the two guards standing in front of the door.

The two guards were tall and imposing figures. One of them had the scar running across his face, showing off the intimidating air.

But Vincent knew that they likely won’t have much better fighting power. Looking at the way they stood, Vincent’s eyes saw through everything.

Standing all night here was taxing on their legs.

Vincent sighed and looked down at the watch.

"1:49."

Jason finished the cigarette and tossed it to the ground, crushing the red butt with his foot.

He then stretched his neck and moved on to the fingers.

"Stay behind me, rookie. And don’t engage in the fight unless you think you can handle it."

"Are you sure you can handle it alone?"

"Beside the nickname of the best detective in the division, I also had another name." Jason smiled, turning to Vincent.

Vincent shook his head. "I don’t know."

"They called me Mad dog."

1:50.

The timer on the EMP device inside the car reached the designated place and the switch turned on.

Almost immediately, everything around the area was consumed by absolute darkness as the wave of magnetic energy pulsed out, destroying everything related to the electricity.

But Vincent’s vision wasn’t consumed by the darkness as he wore the high tech glasses.

The same goes for Jason.

Bang! Bang!

In an instant, the silent darkness descended upon the area, Jason moved his hands, pulling the trigger on his two guns and allowing the bullets to penetrate into the guard’s stomach.

Blood splattered across the door behind them as their bodies fell to the ground.

"Follow me after 2 minutes." Jason reminded Vincent and entered the nightclub.

Vincent was shocked. He knew that he would face death coming up to this place but knowing the future and directly experiencing the present wasn’t the same.

His heart was spewing with agitated emotions. Was it fear or anger? 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

He didn’t know. Even the rational thinking which he could do very well wasn’t being helpful at dictating which emotions he was currently.

Humans were complex.

Vincent sighed and took out the bottle of Werewolf’s blood and drank about 10 ml.

Immediately, he felt his body undergoing the transformation and gained the ability of Werewolf.

He also gained the knowledge on how to use the ability as well.

’It is much harder than I thought.’ Vincent thought.

Suddenly, a wave of people rushed toward him. Judging by their looks, they were probably the people who were partying inside.

Fear awakened their drunken minds as they fled from the nightclubs. Everyone ignored the blood stained ground and left the area.

It didn’t take that long for the entrance to clear. Afterall, not that many parties at this time.

Vincent sighed, suppressing the complex emotions he was feeling and entered inside.

He tightened the grip on his gun and looked around, taking cover.

"I am taking up the left pathway." Jason’s voice echoed inside his head.

"I don’t see any signs of Eric yet." Werewolf also spoke out.

Vincent pressed the button on his glass and spoke quietly. "I am entering inside the building. I will go to the right."

He didn’t hear the response but he knew that the other party was going to do their jobs.

He needed to do his job.

The nightclub layout was simple.

Immediately after the entrance, there was a hallway for clubbing. In the middle was the DJ’s place. The bar was placed on two sides of the hallway.

This was the first floor of the nightclub.

The rest rooms on this floor were just a private room and restroom. And from the blueprint, Eric didn’t place any of the escape routes on the first floor.

The reason was simple, Eric didn’t use the first floor. It was reserved to the customers. And even if he put the escape route in here, the chances of those precious customers discovering the route was high.

After all, this was the place where passion burned like a wild fire.

Vincent quickly scanned the first floor and saw bodies laying around. Probably the work of Jason.

His eyes then moved to the two stairs placed beside the wall.

Since Jason chose the left side, Vincent naturally picked the right one.

The first floor was done.
