Legend of Dragon Son-in-law
Chapter 2557: Long Wu’s Illness
"Mende..."
Long Wu felt something strange whenever she heard that name.
But she still listened to Julius Reed and took off the stopwatch, handing it to the Nine Nether True Lord.
"This thing..."
Before Long Wu could finish her sentence, the Nine Nether True Lord skillfully opened the watch cover and disappeared.
"Damn..."
The Empress rarely cursed, "Who is this guy anyway?"
"A friend, little brother?"
Julius Reed shrugged.
"Why do you call him Lord Mende?" Long Wu looked at him with a peculiar expression, "How come there’s no normal person around you? Or is it because you’ve mentioned this watch before?"
"He once seduced someone else’s wife and was chased down; it’s quite literal," Julius Reed explained helplessly. "As for why he could use this, I guess it’s something from their era."
"Which era?"
Suddenly, Long Wu felt that the battle for the world, fighting Julius Reed to the death, was not as fulfilling as sitting together and chatting closely.
It seemed as if all the smoke, all the battlefields, were far away from them.
What remained was peace.
Love.
Happiness and joy.
All worries were gone.
Why be an emperor?
Isn’t it better to be the emperor’s woman?
So restful!
"From the era before yours. Aren’t you curious, what really existed in the Ancient Era? Including the treasures your Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance acquired, and the legacies left by people from that era."
Julius Reed explained candidly, not treating Long Wu as an outsider, "For now, what I can tell you is that this guy was once a big figure. He was a super strong person in any era. So, show him some respect."
"I should respect him? Why don’t you respect him?" Long Wu snorted lightly, "Just because you’re stronger than me?"
"I beat him fair and square, it’s that simple."
Julius Reed said calmly.
"Hey! Do you think if he goes back to the past, he might..." Long Wu suddenly felt nervous, "He’s a fan of married women, what if... Julius Reed!"
Married women!
Isn’t she also a married woman?
What if that bastard really does something bad to her if he goes back to the past?
Long Wu deeply regretted it!
But even if she was anxious, she couldn’t change anything.
What’s done is done; she could only pray. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Don’t worry, he’s got decent character." Julius Reed showed no concern, and the Nine Nether True Lord was right, it was just his ex-girlfriend who happened to be Emperor Blood Soul’s wife.
That’s all there is to it.
Lord Mende was just joking around.
Not to be taken seriously.
Before long.
The Nine Nether True Lord finally reappeared.
He appeared right where he had vanished from, out of nowhere.
"Where did you go?"
Julius Reed asked curiously.
Meanwhile, Long Wu looked tense, starting to examine her body for any anomalies.
"I was just checking if this watch is real. Now it looks as real as can be. Congratulations, you’ve got a top-notch artifact."
The Nine Nether True Lord played with the watch cover and said to Julius Reed, "Hit me!"
"How much force?"
Julius Reed stood up and twisted his neck.
"Seventy percent." The Nine Nether True Lord opened the stopwatch, but this time he didn’t disappear.
He stood there, letting the sounds of the stopwatch echo.
Bam!
Without hesitation, Julius Reed threw a punch!
Bam!
The Nine Nether True Lord was sent flying.
It was excruciating!
But as the countdown on the stopwatch ended, he slowly got up, grimacing, "You’ve gotten stronger."
That punch was just too fierce.
Absolutely incredible!
But luckily, now nothing seemed to have happened.
"Are you okay?" Long Wu was also very curious.
The strength of a punch from Julius Reed now was terrifying.
Yet this man seemed unfazed.
"Emperor Azure River was a genius, and his stopwatch was lauded as Sacred Time."
The Nine Nether True Lord, speaking of his idol, had eyes full of unabashed awe.
"I’m telling you, this watch has many uses! It can go back in time to eliminate the enemies there and also ensure you won’t die during a countdown period. Even if you’re killed, you can revive within this time."
He rolled up his sleeve, pointing at the black line on his arm, "This is our seal. Once this seal appears in the body, we can’t utilize the invincible power of the stopwatch’s time. Because its principle seems to draw out the surrounding Spiritual Power, infusing it quickly into the body to offset the damage received."
"This black line will gradually disappear. But from what I know, this watch has many functions. It’s one of Emperor Azure River’s greatest creations; I never would’ve dreamed of seeing it with my own eyes!"
The Nine Nether True Lord reluctantly returned the stopwatch to Long Wu: "It’s all about destiny; you’re the chosen one, please treasure it."
Seeing the magic of the stopwatch, Long Wu was deeply shaken inside.
Previously, they would just go back in time to harm people from the past.
Using this power to defeat enemies.
Now it seems like it was underutilized.
The stopwatch has a minute, even a half turn would be thirty seconds!
Thirty seconds of invulnerability, what does that mean?
A top expert could almost use this stopwatch to take down those of equal standing!
It’s too powerful!
Truly worthy of being a divine artifact.
"Is there any harm from this thing to us?" Long Wu asked.
Since someone knew everything about the stopwatch, she might as well get it all clear.
What a good opportunity.
It seems this stopwatch was quite a shocking existence back in the day.
It’s not simple to fascinate the Nine Nether True Lord.
"No dangers, it’s something created by Emperor Azure River. Perhaps you all don’t know, even lost souls can be brought back by time reversal."
The Nine Nether True Lord’s eyes were full of envy, "If I had this thing back then, how great it would be. Alas, before Emperor Azure River even died, Sacred Time disappeared. Can you tell me where you got it?"
Maybe there are other River Azure relics?
"Secret." Long Wu didn’t reply but started coughing after putting away the stopwatch.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Julius Reed noticed something was off with Long Wu.
They were fighting to the death before, and now suddenly, she’s venturing into the pool talking about irrelevant things.
If Julius Reed hadn’t retracted his sword swiftly, Long Wu might have died.
Looking at Long Wu’s expression now, she seemed unnatural.
Julius Reed silently listened to Long Wu’s inner voice.
Once he heard it, he was really startled.
"Your... genetic illness acted up?"
Julius Reed couldn’t believe it, Long Wu’s spirit stayed away from her body for so many years just to escape it, yet it still caught up with her.
"Yes, now I can’t hide it from you anymore."
Long Wu pouted, smiling as she said, "Julius Reed, I think I like you."
