Chapter 1756: Chapter 1756: Time-Space Merchant (33)

Back in high school, Gao Teng was quite the handsome guy, but once he got to college, surrounded by people from all corners of the country, he didn’t stand out as much.

Moreover, his family wasn’t extremely wealthy, so compared to those second-generation rich kids, he had no advantage at all.

"He Yuanyuan, Teng Ge treated you well before, didn’t he? Do you really have to disgust people even after breaking up?" Boy A, who had a bad temper and had been drinking, spoke without any restraint: "You left him for money, don’t you have any conscience!"

He Yuanyuan’s face turned pale.

"Let’s go..."

He Yuanyuan grabbed the second-generation rich kid’s arm, wanting to leave.

Unfortunately, the rich kid had no intention of letting Gao Teng off so easily: "Why are we leaving? What’s wrong? You broke up with him, but your heart is still with him?"

"No..." He Yuanyuan looked awful: "We’ve broken up, there’s no need to make this so ugly, let’s go."

The rich kid arrogantly held He Yuanyuan and showed off: "Yuanyuan chose me, which proves he’s just a loser, right? He’s incompetent himself, so he shouldn’t stop Yuanyuan from finding someone better than him, right?"

Gao Teng sat silently.

His two friends felt indignant for him and started arguing with the rich kid.

Nobody knew who threw the first punch, but both sides ended up fighting right there.

The rich kid called his own buddies, and since Gao Teng’s side only had three people, they were no match and got beaten up badly before being thrown out of the bar.

"Kid, from now on when you see Yuanyuan, walk the other way. If I see you near Yuanyuan again, watch your life."

The rich kid wrapped an arm around He Yuanyuan and went back inside. He Yuanyuan turned to look at the three people on the ground, her eyes filled with guilt and reluctance, but not much regret.

"Damn..."

Boy A wanted to curse but winced slightly.

Feeling dispirited and discouraged, Gao Teng apologized: "Sorry, guys, for getting you into this mess today."

"What are you saying, Teng Ge? That piece of trash is just relying on his family’s money."

"Yeah, don’t worry, Teng Ge. We’ll find another chance to deal with him."

Gao Teng forced a smile, and the three boys helped each other up, limping away from the area.

-

Gao Teng thought losing his girlfriend was the hardest thing he’d face, but then the company that had already notified him to report suddenly told him on his start day that for some reason, he was not hired.

Gao Teng quickly understood what had happened.

It was that rich kid...

The rich kid didn’t even hide it, arrogantly bragging about his accomplishments right in front of Gao Teng.

This caused Gao Teng to languish for several more days. One day, he suddenly remembered that business card and fished it out.

Could it really... be possible?

Gao Teng suddenly felt like he was going crazy.

Those words looked like a scam at first glance.

Gao Teng threw the business card down, covered his face and sat for a while, then picked it up again, repeating this several times.

At exactly eight o’clock in the evening.

Gao Teng hadn’t thrown the card away, and suddenly, the scenery in front of him changed.

In a space full of sci-fi vibes, countless hexagonal objects were floating on shelves. What...what is this place?

How did he get here?

"Welcome to the Time-Space Exchange."

"Who!"

A door on the left slowly opened, and the girl he had seen before, hands in her pockets, stepped out from behind it, looking cool and laid-back.

Gao Teng: "..."

-

"Manager, where should this go?"

"Manager, can this be hung here?"

"Manager..."

Xi Jing was being called left and right. The new store’s renovation was almost complete, the counters were in place, and they were now making final preparations, just waiting to open.

Even though the store hadn’t opened yet, some people noticed the remarkably good-looking boy inside, like a movie star, peering out all day.

Occasionally, brave girls would come in and ask when they would open.

Xi Jing had been busy all day and stepped out of the store to catch his breath.

He pulled out his phone, checked the chat screen, refreshed it several times without new messages, and the young boy looked a bit disappointed.

Just as he was hesitating about whether to text Chuzheng, he caught a glimpse of a figure not far off in the corner of his eye.

The smile on Xi Jing’s lips hadn’t formed before it froze there.

Chuzheng had gone into a menswear store not far away with a guy, and through the glass window, he could see Chuzheng picking out clothes for him.

A chill rose in Xi Jing’s heart. He took two steps forward but couldn’t muster the courage to go on.

What should he do if he went over?

Ask her who that is?

Was she tired of him?

If she was truly tired of him, what would he do?

Xi Jing’s hand holding the phone slowly clenched, a shadow of worry surfacing in his clear eyes.

-

[Miss, be careful, the Good Person Card seems to be darkening.]

Chuzheng suddenly received a reminder from King’s Account, and she felt a jolt in her heart. What’s up with the Good Person Card darkening for no reason?

Chuzheng threw the clothes to Gao Teng and told him to try them on.

She walked aside with her phone, thoughtfully looking towards the store opposite, which was clean, bright, and almost ready from the looks of it.

Chuzheng dialed Xi Jing’s number.

The phone rang for over twenty seconds before it was answered, with the boy’s voice soft and gentle: "Hello."

"I’m across from you, come over for a bit."

"..."

The boy fell into a long silence before vaguely humming a response: "Mm."

Chuzheng hung up the phone, watching the shop door, but Xi Jing didn’t emerge from the store door, instead, he came out from the side.

He slowly walked toward her, looking at her through the glass window.

Chuzheng gestured for him to come inside, and after a moment’s hesitation, head down, he entered the store. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Is there... anything you need?" Xi Jing kept his head down, fingers playing with the hem of his shirt.

Chuzheng wrapped an arm around his waist: "I’m buying you some clothes, take your pick, see if there’s something you like."

"No... There’s no need, I have clothes I haven’t worn yet," Xi Jing quietly refused.

"Then I’ll buy for someone else."

Xi Jing abruptly looked up, eyes slightly red, giving her an accusatory glare.

"Did you see something just now?" Chuzheng lifted her hand to push aside his hanging bangs.

"..."

"Miss Chuzheng, this..." Gao Teng came out of the fitting room, seeing Chuzheng and a boy standing together, looking slightly surprised.

He was surprised by the boy’s stunning appearance.

Chuzheng’s hand was still resting on the boy’s waist, which made the relationship between them obvious.

Xi Jing lowered his head, gently biting his lip, and quietly asked, "Who is he."

"A client."

"Does a client need you to accompany them shopping?" The boy’s voice was aggrieved: "You... aren’t you leaving me."

"You’re doubting me?" Chuzheng furrowed her brow slightly: "If I wanted to do something, would I need to be right in front of you?"

Xi Jing was slightly stunned; there were plenty of places to shop, and Chuzheng could avoid him by going somewhere else. She didn’t have to come here.

She knew he was here...

Xi Jing realized he might have been overthinking it, blushing: "Sorry, I... I shouldn’t have doubted you."

Chuzheng pinched the flesh at his waist, whispering: "I’ll deal with you later tonight. Now pick out some clothes, alright?"

Before Xi Jing could process her first sentence, he got swept along by the latter part.
