Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster
Chapter 168 - 167: Otherwise, She Will Regret It
After breakfast, when it was time to go to school, Harold Foster said to Nathan Foster:
"Since you’re returning to the military base and you’ll pass by their school, give them a ride to school."
Before Nathan Foster could respond, Fiona Grant spoke up:
"Grandpa, no need. I can ride a shared bicycle. It’s good exercise and environmentally friendly. Grandpa, I’m an environmental expert. When you’re better, you should go out and ride a shared bicycle with me. It will be great exercise, and you’ll live a long life."
Fiona Grant’s words were sweet and playful, lifting Harold Foster’s spirits.
"Okay, okay, when I’m better, we’ll go together."
Harold Foster looked at Fiona Grant with eyes full of affection.
South Grant watched and just smiled, saying nothing.
Indeed, when it was time for school, Fiona Grant found a shared bicycle nearby and rode it to school.
South Grant didn’t think much of it.
Nathan Foster noticed South Grant’s silence during the ride. Just before they arrived at the school, he spoke up:
"The old man is getting on in years. Your mother’s disappearance has been a lingering pain in his heart. Fiona Grant is a girl, and the more guilt he feels for your mother, the more love he shows to Fiona."
Nathan Foster assumed South Grant was melancholic because of Harold Foster’s affection for Fiona Grant.
"I know. If she makes Grandpa happy, then that’s great."
Nathan Foster turned to look at her. Her mood was clearly low, and she couldn’t hide it.
"You’re obviously saying one thing and feeling another," Nathan Foster said. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
South Grant’s gaze fell onto him, then she smiled, shook her head, and said:
"I’m not that petty. I won’t be upset just because Grandpa likes Fiona."
South Grant thought of Fiona Grant from her previous life; she used to get close to Nathan Foster by staying close to her.
She was great at reading people and pleasing them with what they liked.
Every word she said was flawless.
Just like now, she’s pleasing Harold Foster.
If she could deceive me for a lifetime like this, I wouldn’t have felt that piercing coldness before I died.
Soon they arrived at the school, and South Grant still carried a somewhat gloomy demeanor.
Nathan Foster watched her get out of the car, then rolled down the window and said to her:
"If you don’t want to stay at the old house, I’ll take you back to the military base tonight."
"No need, it’s just over a month and I can spend time with Grandpa. After that, I’ll be staying in the dorms at university. I’ll have even less time to spend with Grandpa."
When Nathan Foster heard her mention staying in the dorms, his eyes flickered slightly. He didn’t say anything further, just nodded and gave her a reminder before driving off.
As South Grant walked down the tree-lined path on campus, her mind was full of thoughts.
After all, she wasn’t Fiona Grant and couldn’t act so heartlessly.
Having been reborn, she could easily use her advantage to deal with Fiona Grant, making her pay for her past deeds.
But every time she thought of her mother’s words to take care of her siblings, she found herself unable to be ruthless.
No matter what, for her mother’s sake, South Grant didn’t want to bicker with Fiona Grant anymore.
In her past life, taking the fall for her in jail was already fulfilling her mother’s wishes.
In the end, she used a scalpel to end her own life, severing the last bit of sisterly bond.
Now, no matter what she did, to her, she’s just a stranger.
South Grant decided not to let any of Fiona’s actions bother her. As long as she didn’t cross her boundaries, South Grant could let bygones be bygones.
If she did, she’d make Fiona Grant regret it.
Having figured things out, South Grant stopped dwelling on these matters.
In the future, to her, she’d just be another ordinary stranger.
