Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster
Chapter 215 - 214: Please Give Me a Way Out
Wendy stared at her, eyes wide and full of emotion at this moment.
Oh, my God!
What on earth happened? Why was Wendy looking at her like that?
When South Grant realized the severity of the situation, she felt a chilling coldness coming from a corner of the room.
She couldn’t help but look up at Nathan Foster, only to see Nathan’s face as cold as if it was covered in ice shards. South thought of what he had just said.
You reap what you sow...
The problem was she had just smoothed things over with the brother, so why was the sister stirring things up?
South looked into Wendy’s eyes. Since she couldn’t reciprocate, she wanted to pull her hand back, but Wendy held on tightly.
"Well, we’re schoolmates, and in matters of life and death, I couldn’t possibly not rescue you. Not just you; even if it were someone else, I would have saved her."
South attributed Wendy’s admiration to the fact that she saved her from the fire, so she used this explanation.
After South finished speaking, she withdrew her hand. Wendy could see South was rejecting her.
Wendy’s face showed faint disappointment, looking somewhat aggrieved at South.
"Do you think I’m too young? South, I’ll grow up."
Wendy laid it bare, and South felt even more troubled.
Acceptance was certainly not an option; she was a woman, how could she accept Wendy’s affection?
But if she rejected her, Wendy was in her rebellious teenage years. If this impacted her psychologically, it could have significant consequences in the future.
South pondered, remembering that Wendy had a formidable presence behind her.
If she didn’t sever this peach blossom, she feared the formidable one would end her instead.
After thinking for a while, South said to Wendy:
"Wendy, listen to me, there’s an old saying that everyone has their preferences, and it’s the same in love. You can force many things, but you can’t force feelings. You’re great, excellent, with good grades, a good family background, good looks, you’re more than enough for anyone. If I were a normal person, I’d definitely like you."
Wendy was stunned hearing South’s words.
"South, I don’t quite understand what you’re saying." What did he mean by a normal person, was he not normal?
Hearing Wendy’s question, South was a bit embarrassed and said to Wendy: 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"I, well... I have issues in that regard."
Seeing Wendy’s bewildered face, South explained again:
"I like men."
Seeing Wendy’s shocked expression, South felt she might have been a bit harsh.
But if she didn’t completely cut off Wendy’s hopes, it would only hurt Wendy more.
Yesterday, she saved Wendy just to purely save her life, not to create romantic debts. The development of events had caught her off guard.
South originally thought that by saying this, Wendy would give up. Instead, she saw tears welling up in Wendy’s eyes, about to spill.
Just as South was wondering how to comfort her, Wendy looked up and asked South:
"Is what they say true, that the one you like is actually my brother? Is my brother my rival in love?"
"Ahem..." Wendy’s words caused South to cough uncontrollably. Holding her chest, she couldn’t help but think:
Oh heavens, are this brother and sister pair not going to let her go?
Seeing the storm brewing behind, could she not be given a break?
