Limitless Evolution: Summoning Villains With My SSS-Rank Talent
Chapter 26: Lightbearers
As Alex neared the building’s gates, his eyes drifted toward the two Players standing guard at them.
Over the past few days, he had been secretly watching Allura’s moves, and during that time, he found out many things.
So much so that he knew everyone’s name, talent, motivation, and more. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that he knew nearly everything about them.
Seeing him coming, the Players bowed slightly, and one of them asked with a faint smile, "Why are you here, Alex?"
Alex looked at him and answered with a hurt expression, "So cold. Do you not want me to be here, Cilars?"
Cilars and his companion let out a chuckle, and Cilars responded, "Obviously not. But as you had denied Captain’s invitation to join us, I cannot allow you entry without her permission."
I did that, huh... The day after the uprising, Allura had asked Alex to join her group, but he had respectfully denied her, and the reason was simple.
He had plans that warranted anonymity and power that only he had.
Still, it wasn’t like they were on bad terms with each other – they simply had different goals and plans at the moment.
"I want to meet your captain," Alex answered, and his gaze shifted towards the top of the three-story building.
Cilars nodded. His eyes turned unfocused for a moment, and then he added, "You can enter."
Alex nodded. They opened the gates for him, and he entered.
As he walked, he looked at Cilars from the corner of his eyes and thought, Telepathy is pretty useful.
Upon entering the building, his gaze fell on over ten Players sitting in chairs or sprawling on sofas while either cleaning their light plate armor or polishing their tools or weapons.
He glanced at them, and they simply nodded.
They do not feel like the people who weren’t even able to step out of their cages. He thought and reciprocated their greetings with a smile.
Suddenly, one of the Players jumped from her chair and streaked toward him. "Sir Alex!!"
"Dammit!" Alex stepped aside. The streaking, almond-skinned young woman went past him and crashed into another Player. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Ouch!" She yelped, and the other Player let out a growl, "Get off me!"
Seeing that, he shook his head and said, "What are you doing, Naria?"
Naria rose from the ground, brushed her blonde hair, which only reached her shoulders, and muttered with a wide grin, "I just got excited after not meeting you for the past four days."
Seeing the stars in her blue eyes, he let out a sigh and thought, Why do I already have someone fangirling over me? That’s so annoying.
"Well, you’ve seen me now, so calm down," Alex muttered and stepped toward the staircase.
"Wait!" Naria shouted.
With an annoyed expression, Alex turned his head to her and asked, "What is it?"
Naria opened her arms wide and requested with a tilted head, "Hug?"
Alex instantly turned his head to the staircase and began climbing them.
Seeing that, all of the Players burst laughing, and someone commented, "Why do you have to tease him like this? Haha."
Naria balled her fists and said in a low voice, "Just because..."
Alex soon stopped before the door leading to Allura’s room and office.
He knocked at it and said, "It’s Alex."
A long moment later, Allura responded from inside, her voice charming.
"Come in."
Alex pushed the door and stepped inside.
There, brightened by the dim moonlight streaming through the window, Allura sat in her office chair. Her hair moved slightly with the wind, and her enchanting eyes were locked with him.
Her small lips held a mischievous smile, and she asked, "So what has caused a personality as exalted as yours to meet me, Sir Alex?"
He let out a heavy sigh. "Spare me the flowery words, Lady Allura. I simply want you to help me find something."
Allura tapped her fingers on the table and said, "I myself would love to help you. However, I have to disappoint you this time."
Alex frowned. "Why is that?"
"If it was something to find, you would have found it yourself, and seeing how you have come to ask for our help, you either lack the knowledge or power to do so."
"If it were power, you wouldn’t have come to us. Which means you either have no clue what you are looking for or your information on the subject is very limited."
"..." Alex didn’t answer. More like he couldn’t, he was just that surprised.
Seeing the surprise in his yellow eyes, Allura chuckled and continued after leaning forward on the table.
"With Lightbearer’s connections with the five outer guilds, it would be easier for us to gain that knowledge, but at the time, the other groups that have managed to break free from their cages are competing with one another."
"What? Why are they doing something so stupid?" Alex asked, confused.
He couldn’t understand why they would fight and do something during the tutorial.
Allura let out a troubled sigh and said, "Because they want to grow as much as they can."
"You see, having a group doesn’t just mean that you have lackeys to command. No, each member is a valuable resource, so every leader – no matter what world, always wants to take those resources for himself, and in this case—"
"They want to take over Lightbearers."
Allura smiled bitterly. "Right..."
"This is going to be troublesome," he mumbled while brushing his hair to the back.
"You don’t have to worry, Sir Alex," Allura muttered, her tone bitter. "I would end this within two weeks."
Two weeks... Alex evaluated everything that he had decided to do and asked, "What if I help you?"
Allura blinked in surprise and said, "That would be great, but..."
"But?" He pressed.
Suddenly, her expression turned serious, and she said, "Out of three groups, Dark Wolves has a mage with a hidden class, and Free Sword has a swordsman with A-Rank swordsmanship talent."
