Alex raised his hand and touched the glowing orb.

Light spilled out of it and wrapped around his body before pulling him inside the cell.

[System: Host Alex, you have entered a cell.]

In the original story, Alex didn’t have the Evolution System, yet he was able to reach heights that most could only dream of.

He had done so by relying on two main benefits of the Hall.

The first of which was the difference in the flow of time.

Time within the Hall and its cells passed much faster than in Zyandra and Earth, so he had more time than anyone to train and hone his skills.

"Fresh apple! Just two copper for a dozen!" A vendor yelled cheerfully and pulled Alex out of his reverie.

It was his first time entering the Hall and one of its cells, so he had been overwhelmed by the information he had about this place.

He took a deep breath and finally looked around himself.

At the moment, he was standing at the heart of Glemora City.

The streets were full of chattering youth, chuckling elders, and energetic children. Most of the buildings were made out of stone and wood pillars, yet he could see that all of them had glass windows, tiled roofs, and a faint homely ambience.

Vendors shouted. Carriages went past him, yet not even a single person stopped to look at the young man who had suddenly appeared in their city.

Alex stared at the passing civilians with a keen gaze, but none seemed to be bothered by it – instead, they even offered him a smile and continued on their way.

No matter where he looked, everyone seemed happy. Everyone looked content with their life, and involuntarily, his lips spread into a smile.

"Well. That’s Glemora for you," Alex whispered and turned backward.

Behind him stood a tall statue carved into the shape of a man wearing a wizard’s robe, his arms were wide open, and a short beard hung down his chin.

It was the statue of the Mayor and the Savior of Glemora City — Cedric Ivaxius.

Alex clenched his fists and turned his head to the left. His gaze fell on a tall wizard tower that seemed to touch the sky.

Without ceremony, he moved toward the tower.

Like every other place, Glemora had also once been subjugated with endless pain and grief.

At first, it came in the shape of famine.

Then, as a drought, and lastly, as human greed.

"Andy, don’t worry! You can play with my toy instead!" A little girl said while patting the head of her friend.

Alex smiled and continued forward.

With the city out of its resources and people pushed to their absolute limit, everyone could only think about themselves and their families, so they began to plunder.

One by one, homes were looted, people were killed, and the once glorious Glemora City turned into nothing but a place for endless crime. The land of the devil.

Which was true until a youth who had long ago left the city returned and built a grand tower which seemed to pierce the sky as if announcing defiance against the disasters that the world had thrown at them. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Gradually, things returned to how they used to be and only continued to get better.

"Honey, should we buy this for Diyana?" A husband asked his wife while rubbing her bloated abdomen. Even a fool could understand that the two of them were expecting a child.

The wife sighed and looked at her husband with a slightly troubled expression before she shook her head and mumbled in defeat.

"Do whatever you want, Jack."

Seeing the heartwarming scene, Alex’s mind was filled with both happiness and sorrow.

More such scenes followed.

A brother helping his sister.

A daughter riding the shoulders of her father.

A shopkeeper taught a young man about the world.

And so on.

Before Alex even knew it, he had reached the wizard tower.

From this close, even after raising his head at ninety degrees, he couldn’t see its top.

"How did someone even make this?" He mumbled and lowered his gaze at the iron gates leading inside the tower.

Without ceremony, he strode forward like he owned the place.

As he neared the iron gates, they groaned open by themselves, leaving Alex momentarily surprised.

Well, it is a wizard tower...

He foolishly shook his head and continued inside the tower. Within a few minutes of searching, he found the stairs leading him to the very top of the tower.

It was where Cedric Ivaxius was.

The insides of the tower were in no way ordinary – instead, each spot screamed of endless luxury and royal grace.

The walls were of white marble, the carpet covering the steps was the best fabric he had ever seen in his life, and the lantern with blue flames and a black iron case flickered violently as if sensing that things were about to become violent.

Alex began to climb the steps, and time seemed to pass like a sudden gust. His legs had already gone sore from continuous steps.

After about half an hour, Alex could barely stand on his feet, and the whole of his body was covered in sweat. Yet his lips were stretched into a wide grin.

A few steps before him stood a wooden door with engravings of the starry sky embodied in it.

Alex closed the distance and knocked on it.

For a moment, everything fell silent, and after a minute, a voice answered from behind the doors.

"Enter," the voice was calm, unlike any he had heard before.

With his heart beating loudly against his chest, Alex pushed the wooden doors, and his gaze fell on a man with long black hair sitting on a chair with his back toward Alex.

Alex slowly stepped inside and halted beside Cedric Ivaxius, who was governing Glemora with a peaceful smile on his face.

Cedric looked way different than the statue. Instead of the loose wizard robe, he wore a frilly white shirt over fitted deep blue pants and polished black boots. His hair was long and white, his eyes were the color of an ocean, and his expression was calm.

Cedric turned his head toward Alex and asked in a low voice, "Who are you?"
