Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart
Chapter 2655 - 2664: He Gave Her an Envelope
After leaving the graveyard, Old Master Lawrence didn’t return to the hospital immediately. Instead, he took her to a quaint little Western restaurant, rented out the entire place, and had a meal before instructing the Housekeeper to drive back to the hospital.
After getting out of the car, he suddenly handed an envelope to Enna Clark, tiredly saying, "Look at it later."
"Uh." Enna was caught off guard but had no choice but to accept it. Although she wanted to ask what was inside, she couldn’t bear to trouble him further and obediently nodded in agreement, "Okay."
She put the envelope away and supported Old Master Lawrence as they walked toward the hospital ward...
They had just appeared in the corridor when Baron Lawrence and Nicholas Lawrence quickly approached them.
"Old Master." Nicholas Lawrence breathed a sigh of relief after confirming Old Master Lawrence’s health was fine.
Baron Lawrence furrowed his brow and asked Enna Clark, "Where did you go? Why didn’t you answer my calls?"
"I was the one who told her not to answer." Unexpectedly, Old Master Lawrence interrupted ahead of Enna, with a stern face, "I asked her to accompany me somewhere. Didn’t I leave someone to inform you?"
"But you suddenly took Enna Clark and ran off. Do you think I wouldn’t be worried?" Baron Lawrence coldly countered, his face equally stern, "You are a patient now, and you should behave like one! You disappeared suddenly, do you know how anxious everyone else was?"
"I don’t need you to worry about me!" Old Master Lawrence was no longer the fragile man he had been at the graveyard, now tough and stubborn, like a stone.
Seeing that the two were about to argue again, Enna Clark quickly stepped in between them to mediate, "Alright, Baron, don’t yell at Grandpa. It was my idea to accompany Grandpa for a walk. The doctor also said that walking more could be beneficial for his health. I saw Grandpa lying in bed uncomfortably, so I took him out for a walk to get some fresh air. I know we didn’t tell you, which made you anxious. But Grandpa is fine, so there’s no need to irritate him further."
Baron Lawrence muttered, "The old man is lucky to be fine!"
"I know, I know, don’t say it again." Enna Clark warned him with a stern glare, forbidding him from continuing.
If it were someone else, Baron Lawrence definitely wouldn’t give in, but it was Enna Clark, so he pursed his lips and turned away without saying anything further.
At this moment, Nicholas Lawrence walked over to him and discreetly pressed his hand on his shoulder, also shaking his head to signal him not to argue with Old Master Lawrence. Meanwhile, he calmly instructed Enna Clark, "Enna, why don’t you take my Dad back to the ward to rest first? I’ll have the doctor come over later for another check-up."
"Okay." Enna Clark also wanted the doctor to come over, to be on the safe side. After all, Old Master Lawrence hadn’t finished his IV fluids earlier and had been in the cold wind for so long.
"Grandpa, let’s go inside."
Old Master Lawrence had no objections and followed Enna inside.
The Housekeeper also followed them in.
In no time, the medical staff came and conducted a thorough examination, confirming he was fine. They then started the earlier unfinished IV fluid.
Perhaps exhausted from the afternoon visit to the graveyard, he fell asleep while receiving the IV.
After Old Master Lawrence fell asleep, Enna Clark quietly left the ward with the Housekeeper...
