Chapter 48: One vs Thousand

Solomon kept slashing left and right, brutally dismantling the skeletal knights pressing in on him.

’Fighting like this is completely ineffective,’ he thought to himself, ducking under a rusted spear. ’I am just rapidly wasting my remaining physical strength.’

He glanced around the courtyard while parrying an incoming sword strike. He needed a tactical advantage, looking specifically for environmental elements he could utilize to turn the tide.

As soon as he spotted a massive, crumbling stone tower sitting directly on the edge of the precinct, sharp smirk spread across his face.

Solomon braced his legs against the cobblestones and executed the Second Form of the Imperial Sword Arts entirely without aura. He swept Eden’s Penance in a massive horizontal arc.

The sheer physical force of the divine steel tore through the clustered ranks, shattering nearly a hundred undead soldiers into scattered bone fragments.

His rapidly decreasing stamina significantly lowered the overall impact of the technique compared to his earlier strikes. Still, instantly eradicating a hundred monsters with purely physical strength remained a completely unachievable feat even for most standard A-Rank adventurers.

The massive attack successfully cleared a direct path to the crumbling structure. Solomon immediately sprinted toward the entrance and ducked inside.

The interior of the tower was entirely ruined, looking as though thousands of battles had been continuously fought within its stone walls over the centuries.

He quickly analyzed the broken staircases and collapsed floors. He seamlessly transitioned into using his agility skills, utilizing parkour techniques to jump across the gaps.

He climbed up the walls and maneuvered his way rapidly toward the top of the tower, staying just ahead of the pursuing skeletal horde pouring through the entrance.

Vlad watched the ascent from the courtyard below. A subtle, dangerous smirk touched the corner of his lips. He finally released the bowstring, sending the golden arrow tearing through the air directly toward Solomon’s back.

Solomon perfectly timed a vault over a collapsed wooden beam, launching himself higher up the tower just a fraction of a second before the projectile arrived.

The glowing arrow missed him entirely and slammed directly into the cluster of undead monsters climbing closely behind him.

Since the arrow was constructed purely from condensed aura, it lacked the catastrophic physical weight of standard steel munitions. However, the concentrated aura remained highly effective against lower-tier monsters and undead entities, instantly neutralizing the ones it hit.

Ultimately, Vlad’s actual goal had never been to completely eradicate the horde anyway. He was simply aiming to stall their advance and briefly slow down the pursuit.

Solomon finally reached the crumbling roof of the tower, but he didn’t stop there. He scaled the fractured stone spire jutting toward the black sky and launched himself high into the air.

While suspended above the sprawling courtyard, he forcefully drew every last ounce of dormant energy remaining in his exhausted muscles. He poured his entire aura reserve directly into the divine steel of Eden’s Penance.

He pointed the tip of the massive blade straight down toward the horde clustering around the base of the tower and executed the Fourth Form of the Imperial Sword Arts.

He drove the greatsword downward in a devastating, high-velocity piercing thrust. The kinetic force of the maneuver broke the sound barrier entirely, generating a massive sonic boom that shattered the remaining windows across the precinct.

The concentrated shockwave slammed into the ground like a meteor, completely obliterating the remaining hundreds of undead soldiers in a blinding flash of white light.

The stream interface practically exploded.

[GoonLord: HE ACTUALLY KILLED THEM ALL!]

[LazyCat: A THOUSAND MOBS WIPED OUT BY ONE FIRST-YEAR STUDENT!]

[SteelFang: That final piercing attack was absolutely insane.]

[BloodKnight: His physical endurance is truly terrifying.]

The immense exertion finally caught up to Solomon. He had absolutely zero strength left in his body. His grip on the hilt completely failed, and the S-Rank sword slipped cleanly from his fingers, plummeting toward the earth.

Solomon tumbled helplessly through the air, completely unable to brace himself. He crashed violently into the ground, landing directly on top of the massive, mountains of shattered bones he had just created.

[User12: OH MY GOD HE FELL!]

[LazyCat: SOLO MAN ARE YOU OKAY?!]

[GoonLord: SOMEONE CATCH HIM!]

The brutal impact sent an intense jolt of pain radiating through his entire body. He genuinely did not care about the injury. He had easily endured significantly worse beatings during his time inside the paladin’s memory.

[System: ShadowWalker has gifted 1 Silver Sword (500 Points)!]

[System: GoonLord has gifted Bouquet of Roses (150 Points)!] Message: "I am out of points. Will top up once you return to the academy. Otherwise, I will end up giving a challenge again and you will risk your life!"

Solomon simply lay motionless on top of the bone pile, staring blankly up at the dark, artificial sky. A few seconds later, the distinct sound of crunching footsteps approached his position.

He naturally assumed Zoro was coming over to check on his condition. While laying, he tilted his head back just enough to look behind him.

A surviving skeletal knight stood directly over his head, raising a rusted, bloodstained sword high into the air, perfectly positioned for an execution strike.

[GoonLord: BRO WATCH OUT!]

[LazyCat: BEHIND YOU!]

[SteelFang: HE IS TOO EXHAUSTED TO DODGE!]

[ToxicLord: lmao this is hilarious. This bitch acted all high and mighty. I wish you die a terrible death, loser.]

[LazyCat: get out of here loser. Why are you here again?]

[User12: bro called livestreamers beggars and whatnot saying they will do anything for money, but here he is, still watching and hating on Solo Mon when he is working hard and trying his best while he himself stares at the screen.]

[GamerGuy: User12 is right. That guy must be the mod of a server or something.]

Solomon stared up at the descending blade and let out a weak, tired sigh. "Of course," he muttered sarcastically, fully accepting his ridiculous fate. "I survive a literal army just to get shanked by the janitor."

Solomon was ready to roll to the side as soon as the undead attacked him.

A fraction of a second before the rusted sword reached his face, a glowing arrow made entirely of golden aura violently pierced the undead knight’s skull, shattering it into dust instantly.
