The battle didn’t last long. It was a complete rout from the start.

The Centaurs’ morale was shattered at the outset by Robson’s Tier Four Soldiers, and then their movements were restricted by the wagons that had been prepared in advance.

Under these conditions, even Peasants with longspears could land a blow, to say nothing of the Militia who had some basic military training.

"DING! A Frankish Militia has successfully killed a Centaur Warrior. +50 experience."

"DING!..."

A smile couldn’t help but appear on Robson’s face as he listened to the constant stream of system notifications ringing in his ears.

Everything was proceeding exactly as Robson had envisioned. It was just a shame there were so few Centaurs. Even after killing most of them, Robson still had just over a hundred Tier Two Soldiers.

"Robson, thank you so much for this."

Viscount Leo stepped forward and said sincerely.

His experiences over the past two days had been a real rollercoaster, full of ups and downs.

If he hadn’t been lucky enough to run into Robson here, all the Extraordinary Knights his family had painstakingly cultivated would have likely been lost under his command.

For Viscount Leo, his family’s interests were more important than his own life, so such a loss would have been worse than death.

"Helping others is a virtue established by the Knight King. As friends, it’s only right and proper," Robson said with a smile.

’Is he just going to say thank you?’ Robson thought to himself.

However, he wasn’t worried about Viscount Leo going back on his word. As someone who was able to inherit his family’s title, Viscount Leo had surely received a proper upbringing.

Repaying debts of gratitude was the foundation of the nobility’s standing. To get by in their circles, you had to play by the rules.

"Robson, the equipment has been gathered. Here’s the inventory list for you to look over." Viscount Fuman came over and handed him a list. After getting the hang of it over the last two days, he was starting to settle into the role of quartermaster.

Viscount Fuman’s eyes were full of envy. He used to manage logistics at Sunset Fortress, so how could he not know the quality of this batch of iron armor?

The inferior iron armor had already been distributed, and everyone had a tacit understanding to hold back the high-quality sets to resell for a profit. They never expected it would all end up benefiting Robson.

Even he, a wealthy southern noble, felt a pang of envy.

Robson took the list and glanced at it, and he too was startled.

There were a full 109 sets of iron armor.

These were complete sets of iron armor. In this age of cold weapons, a single set was a game-changer.

Even some down-on-their-luck Knights couldn’t scrape together a complete set.

With 109 sets, he could form an entire formation of Heavy Infantry. On the battlefield, they would be an absolute killing machine!

And that was just the complete sets; there were even more incomplete pieces.

By piecing them together, he could probably arm about 200 men in total.

His two hundred Frank Skilled Infantry were also close to leveling up. Robson didn’t dare imagine how bloody the scene would be when a group of heavily armored Tier Five infantry appeared on the battlefield.

Against the Beastmen army, which couldn’t even fully equip its soldiers with leather armor, it would be a massacre.

Besides the iron armor, there were many other resources, but Robson didn’t bother counting them, as they weren’t particularly important anyway.

After packing everything up, just as Robson was about to order his soldiers to make camp and rest, a messenger suddenly ran up to report.

"Sir, a small human cavalry force has been spotted to the south, heading our way. There are about 40 of them."

Human cavalry?

Robson was stunned. Why would human cavalry be heading north right now?

"It’s Valentino! I didn’t expect them to arrive so quickly!" exclaimed Viscount Leo.

Noticing the confused looks from everyone, Viscount Leo began to explain.

"Valentino von Man, the Count of the Fengman Clan. Her father and I were old acquaintances. My original plan was to keep an eye on this Centaur force and send someone to ask her to dispatch troops for support."

"I thought it would take a long time, I never expected she’d be here so soon," Viscount Leo said.

’The Fengman Clan?’ Robson understood. That clan was a renowned and prestigious family in noble circles, but they were famous for a rather strange reason.

The Fengman Clan was said to have been cursed by their ancestors, leaving them with only a single heir in each generation. The previous Earl Fengman had only one daughter, so the title naturally passed to her.

Robson shrugged. ’It doesn’t matter who it is, it has nothing to do with me.’

’In any case, I’ve already helped, and I’ve already taken the armor. Now that I’ve wiped my mouth clean, it’s not like Viscount Leo can go back on the deal, can he?’

But despite his thoughts, she was still a commander of the Siriel Defense Line. Robson couldn’t afford to leave a bad impression.

He might not care personally, but it would be very annoying to be targeted over minor details.

"Since it’s the Earl, we should go and welcome her," Robson said.

...

As the current Sect Leader of the Fengman Clan, Valentino’s life was not easy.

To be honest, the Fengman Clan’s power had been in sharp decline ever since they were cursed.

For a noble family, not having enough children to form marriage alliances meant that most of their connections could not be maintained.

Noble society was a society of connections. Being unable to form marriage alliances was a massive blow to any noble house.

Fortunately, the Fengman Clan had substantial wealth, and the heir of each generation was quite capable. Otherwise, the Fengman Clan would have likely faded into the river of history long ago.

The reason she was in such a hurry to save Viscount Leo was that the previous Earl Fengman had died young, and Valentino, having just taken over the clan, wanted to inherit her father’s network of contacts.

Valentino’s long-distance ride with her Clan Knights was a performance. It was a clear signal to her father’s old subordinates that the Fengman Clan still recognized its old friends, and that she, Valentino, was taking full responsibility for all past commitments.

But when she arrived at her destination, she sensed something was wrong. The area was covered in Centaur blood, and in the distance, there were several groups of human cavalry.

Although she had never led troops before, she knew these were Rangers posted by an army, responsible for scouting the perimeter.

’What’s going on? Wasn’t the situation supposed to be critical? It’s critical, all right, but it looks like the wrong party was in peril.’

Valentino frowned. Viscount Leo didn’t seem like the type of person who would play a pointless prank on her.

"Earl!"

"Valentino, you’re here. That was incredibly fast."

Valentino looked at the soldiers watching her from all sides. It took only a single glance for her to tell that these men were undoubtedly a rare and elite force.

Looking at the nobles who had come to greet her, Valentino removed her visor and helmet, letting her soft, golden hair tumble down. She offered a polite smile, dismounted gracefully, and performed a noble’s curtsey.

"Of course. Your business is my business, Uncle Leo," Valentino replied.
