"It’s late night now," Daisy interrupted Candy, stopping her self-introduction.

"Are you going to sleep with Dawn? Well, go ahead and sleep! Don’t mind me, I’ll be coming to find Dawn in a few days anyway. By the way, why don’t we be friends? When I come to see Dawn, we can hang out."

Candy’s persistent mention of ’Dawn’ made Daisy’s heart feel a bit suffocated, her gaze deepened, "We’ll see."

After hanging up on Candy’s call, Daisy found it even harder to fall asleep.

The woman named Candy is evidently quite close with Dawn and will be visiting him in a few days. Daisy felt like everything was converging.

Elsa’s threat hasn’t been resolved, and now there’s another romantic rival?

Daisy’s already aching head throbbed even more, utterly devoid of energy, yet her mind was restless, preventing sleep.

Time passed in a haze, and soon, daylight arrived. Daisy threw off the covers and got out of bed.

When Dawn Sutherland woke up, he found the space beside him empty, with no sign of Daisy Grant. He got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

"How can you not keep your word! I paid you, yet you still have backup surveillance footage! What am I supposed to do now!" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"If you’ve given the footage to someone else, I won’t let it go! I mean what I say!"

In the bathroom, Daisy’s deliberately suppressed yet cold, low voice echoed, causing Dawn Sutherland to stop in his tracks at the bathroom door, pausing.

"What am I supposed to do! Right now, I’ve been cornered because of you!... You have such poor integrity! Do you think a simple sorry can smooth this over?!"

Dawn had never heard Daisy speak in such an icy and angry tone to anyone before, standing outside the bathroom door, his gaze turning deep.

The voice inside ceased, indicating the call had ended. As Dawn contemplated what was troubling Daisy, the bathroom door suddenly swung open.

Having hung up the call, Daisy angrily flung open the bathroom door, only to freeze upon seeing Dawn standing at the entrance. Her eyes widened, and her body trembled slightly.

Their gazes met; Dawn’s were profound and unfathomable.

Daisy’s eyes filled with panic and unease, avoiding Dawn’s gaze.

"Brother... brother, you’re awake."

Dawn watched Daisy as she attempted to conceal her emotions, not exposing her, and merely responded with a gentle ’hm’.

Daisy felt a bit guilty, unsure if her brother had overheard her phone conversation.

She cautiously observed Dawn’s expression, noting it was calm and natural without any disturbance, and let out a slight sigh of relief, "Brother, you freshen up first, I’ll be downstairs waiting for you to have breakfast."

"Okay," Dawn’s voice remained as warm and gentle as usual.

Daisy gave a soft acknowledgement, brushing past Dawn. He noticeably sensed her body relaxing quite a bit.

Was it because he hadn’t inquired about what had happened to her?

He had told her to speak up if she had any issues, yet she still hadn’t learned to depend on him.

Dawn sighed, took out his phone, and dialed Arlo Seys’s number.

"Arlo, have you found out about what I asked you to help investigate? Have you looked into which men have been interacting closely with Daisy over the past several months?"

"Daisy hasn’t interacted with many people. I’ve investigated everyone she’s been in contact with, and so far, there doesn’t seem to be any suspicious individuals."
