A wave of warmth surged, Daisy Grant smiled gently at Dawn Sutherland and turned her gaze to Candy, speaking softly, "My name is Daisy Grant, Candy, welcome to City C."

Upon hearing Daisy Grant’s voice, Candy looked at her in surprise, "You—I remember now, it’s you! I called Dawn’s phone the other night, and you answered!"

Daisy Grant nodded, "Yes, it was me."

Candy shifted her gaze to Daisy Grant’s belly, clicking her tongue in amazement, "Oh my, Dawn has finally figured things out, got married and is having a kid! I thought he’d stick to one tree forever! I’m really surprised!" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Candy looked at Dawn Sutherland with a mischievous grin.

Dawn Sutherland pressed his lips together, worried that Candy’s words might touch on a sensitive spot for Daisy Grant, as this child wasn’t his and Daisy’s, but hers and the person she loved most.

Dawn Sutherland embraced Daisy Grant, gently smiling at Candy, "Let’s get in the car. It’s pretty cold in City C today, don’t just stand here. Candy, I’ve booked a restaurant to welcome you."

Candy beamed brightly, "You know me well, Dawn, I love eating! GO, GO, GO! Let’s go have something delicious!"

With his arm around Daisy Grant, Dawn Sutherland opened the car door for her, and only after she was seated did he return to the driver’s seat.

Already in the backseat, Candy smiled cheerfully at the two in front, teasing as she looked at Daisy Grant, "My Dawn is still as considerate and gentle! Darling, marrying Dawn is your happiness! Cherish it well!"

Daisy Grant had never encountered such a lively girl before, calling her "darling Daisy" at every turn and referring to Dawn as "my Dawn" with the same frequency, making Daisy a bit uncomfortable with those terms.

Sensing Daisy Grant’s unease, Dawn Sutherland gave a faint smile, glanced at Candy, and said, "That’s just her nature, very lively and active, pure and cute, and also quite talkative. But Candy is very easy to get along with, Daisy, I hope you two can become friends."

Daisy Grant nodded, just about to respond to Dawn Sutherland, when Candy in the backseat leaned her head forward, "Darling Daisy, your City C is really beautiful! I like City C! Spend some fun time with me here! After I’m done exploring City C, I’ll invite you to come to our Washington!"

Daisy Grant smiled lightly, "Then rest well today, I’ll accompany you tomorrow."

"Darling, you’re so wonderful! Dawn is truly fortunate to have married you!" Candy clapped enthusiastically, her face beaming with joy.

Daisy Grant smiled quietly.

Candy truly possessed a charm, attracting even a fellow woman like her with her bright and radiant smile, and her straightforward simplicity.

Dawn Sutherland took the two to a famous local restaurant in City C, where they ate. Candy kept exclaiming how tasty everything was, saying she wanted to marry a City C person, settle down here, and not return to Washington.

Daisy Grant and Dawn Sutherland both watched and laughed at the lively and pure Candy, joining in her playful antics.

Dawn Sutherland parked the car steadily, pulling up in front of his apartment building, and softly said to Daisy Grant in the passenger seat, "Wait here for me, I’ll take Candy home."

Dawn Sutherland got out of the car, opened the trunk, and took out Candy’s suitcase, smiling at her, "Stay at my apartment while you’re in City C."

Candy grinned widely, taking Dawn Sutherland’s arm as they headed back to the apartment together.

"Dawn, I’m so happy today! Seeing you again and eating all that great food! Dawn, why don’t you take care of me, and I’ll stay in City C forever."

Pulling the suitcase along, Dawn Sutherland smiled at Candy, his voice gentle, "Stop joking, don’t I know your nature? You’ll only love City C for a while, Candy, and later, you’ll still miss your Washington."
