Chapter 1601 - 1177: Substitution
The Divine Lord never regarded Ash and the others as worth noting.
Even if Ash had potential, as long as he hadn’t set foot in Heaven, it was impossible for him to pose a threat to the Divine Lord. Demigods are fundamentally superior to mortals, just as Heaven looks down on Hell. In the same Wonder, the power wielded by demigods and the Divine Lord are worlds apart.
The first phase of the "Ash Extermination Battle" is to capture Ash, the second phase is the spoils battle that requires the Divine Lord to give it their all. To this end, four Divine Lords don’t hesitate to entrust their natal Secret Realm to Angels descending to earth.
The so-called natal Secret Realm is the World Secret Domain used by the Divine Lord to enter Heaven. In truth, the natal Secret Realm is no different from other Secret Realms, but it must be the Secret Realm that the Divine Lord has controlled the longest, and if they have controlled it long enough, it may nurture a strand of subsidiary consciousness.
The function of this subsidiary consciousness can be considered both significant and insignificant. It can operate the Secret Realm, manage resources, and assist in battles for the Divine Lord, but these roles can also be fulfilled by Divine Beings, often even better. Thus, most of the time, the subsidiary consciousness remains dormant within the natal Secret Realm.
There is only one scenario that necessitates the activation of the subsidiary consciousness: descending to the earthly realm!
Through the ages, the Divine Lord has had no means to descend directly or indirectly to the earthly realm. Even when participating in Angel Hunts, Divine Lords divide parts of their consciousness to create Demons, joining the earthly realm in a near reincarnated form. Even then, Demons and the Divine Lord remain disconnected, with only Dazzling Star being a potential exception. After all, the Allstars Heavenly Kingdom is her domain, and she may be able to let her consciousness participate fully in the Angel Hunt.
The subsidiary consciousness is the only feasible method for the Divine Lord’s descent: having an Angel bring the natal Secret Realm to descend, then activating the subsidiary consciousness through battle intent or other means, thereby connecting it with the main consciousness, enabling the Divine Lord to interfere with the earthly realm while residing in Heaven!
But this state of the subsidiary consciousness is rootless and rapidly diminishes with each passing second. This is why the Divine Lords initially refrain from appearing, and even when they do, they avoid direct confrontation, opting for the simplest combat skills. Expending more mental energy in the first phase means having fewer resources in the second phase!
If you go all out to obliterate Ash and his companions, and then find your energy depleted first in the spoils battle, leaving only a weakened leading Angel to face the other two Divine Lords... You’d undoubtedly be the most popular Divine Lord of the year.
Of course, the key point is that they all believed that their energy-saving status was sufficient for the first phase. But as Ash and these demigods continuously performed Miracles, they found themselves unable to even pass the first phase, which forced them to...
Give them a glimpse of what it truly means to be the Divine Lord!
In the eyes of the Divine Lord, who holds life and death in their grasp, a Miracle is nothing more than a Dream Bubble Shadow!
The sound waves of the All-knowing Weaver formed a massive curtain blocking Sonia’s view, distorting and obscuring the figures of others, completely sealing the conditions required to initiate a "duel"—a duel must lock onto a target to activate!
Therefore, the only opponent Sonia could currently approach was the All-knowing Weaver!
The onrushing crimson water moon was diluted and neutralized by endless sound waves. If the All-knowing Weaver was playing various instruments before, now she was practically conducting a symphony orchestra, her sound now transforming into a thousand Wonders that drowned Sonia. Every counterattack by Sonia would be neutralized, every action impeded, and even her emerging thoughts would dissolve and disintegrate under the combined influence of the mesmerizing colors and melodious chimes.
Every reaction would be countered, every thought terminated, without needing to speak, the world had already submitted to Her majesty.
This was not a swamp but a cage. Sonia, like an obedient child, couldn’t escape the control of the All-knowing Weaver regardless of how much she fussed!
This was the true power of the All-knowing Weaver, the executor of the Prediction Law!
On the other side, the Imaginary Music Master still used Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon to trap the three Witches, but his attention was already on the Blood Sea. He raised his hand, and countless snowflakes flew toward the Blood Sea, forming a white river in the sky.
Yet this beautiful scene was of utmost terror in the eyes of the three Witches!
"Ash, be careful!"
There was no way to be careful.
The Extreme Master of the Blood Moon, clad in a blood robe, abandoned his previous bombardment combat style, focusing entirely on close-quarter combat with Ash. Utilizing the Forbidden Blood Technique, he could even directly shatter Ash’s crimson water moon. The "Sea of Corpses and Flies" in his hands was no longer a means of evasion but a mysterious and unpredictable offensive skill. His hands and feet would suddenly disappear, only to launch a fierce onslaught from an unimaginable angle the next second!
Within a second, the Extreme Master of the Blood Moon could switch between seven stances, leaving Ash with nothing but Despair if he misjudged even once or failed to keep up! In this intensely close-quarter and high-tension exchange, Ash had no leeway to avoid the interference of the Imaginary Music Master!
"Hey, hey, I still want to savor this slowly. Imaginary, don’t you know it’s rude to disturb someone’s meal?" The Extreme Master of the Blood Moon lazily chided, yet he proactively pushed Ash into the snowflake’s encirclement. When it comes to interests, all Divine Lords are rational; there are no exploitable flaws.
Soon, the snowflakes played floral music, and the wind inflicted wounds. The Imaginary Music Master multitasked, dragging Ash into a second Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon.
Through the ages, Ash might be the only demigod simultaneously besieged by two Divine Lords. Yet no one would argue he isn’t worth it; he earned the recognition of the Divine Lords, who honored him with the highest respect: going all out!
