Magic Monopoly: Reborn as the Sole Magic Tower Master
Chapter 337: Epilogue 3
"Now! Exhaaaaale! And bend forward! Tighten your core, tighten!"
Jin Bora groaned as she stretched her waist in the middle of her hot yoga class. Just then, her phone, resting on the hardwood floor beside her mat, began to vibrate.
Ugh, I specifically told them no work calls on my day off.
Grumbling under her breath, she checked the screen.
It was a call from Samia.
Stealing an apologetic glance at the instructor, she scooped up the phone and hurried out into the hallway so as not to disturb the rest of the class.
"Yes, hunter Samia. Is something the matter?"
Samia’s reply came through the speaker.
The phone slipped from her grip, hitting the marble tiles with a sharp clatter.
*
"These are our performance results from the first half of last year."
The atmosphere in the ninth-floor conference room of the Magic Tower Group headquarters was absolutely frigid. Pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose, Jeong Seojin glared at the table.
"If you have something to say, spit it out."
A middle-aged executive trembled nervously, clutching a printed report. "U-Unfavorable factors concerning the potion business and general market stagnation have directly impacted our operating losses. As the deficit margins increase, market forecasts predict..."
"I am not asking for a summary of what everyone in this room already knows," Jeong Seojin interrupted, his voice like cracking ice. "The failure of our structural innovation policies, combined with an inadequate supply of monster byproduct materials. Going forward, the scale of our potion business is only going to shrink. We can’t afford to stubbornly maintain Alchemia’s strategic direction when it no longer aligns with global trends."
He interlaced his fingers.
"We are pivoting. We will be entering the pharmaceutical industry."
A wave of shocked murmurs rippled across the table.
"We will acquire several young, promising pharmaceutical companies. Even in a world without monsters, potions will deeply integrate into people’s daily lives..."
Right then, Jeong Seojin’s phone buzzed on the mahogany table.
Raising a hand to pause the meeting, he brought the phone to his ear.
"Yes, this is Jeong Seojin."
He turned his back to the room.
"Yes, that’s correct. Yes."
With the barrage temporarily halted, the executives took a desperate moment to catch their breath, silently thanking whoever was on the other end of the line for saving them from the CEO’s wrath.
They didn’t know who it was, but they were deeply gratefu—
Crash!
Everyone bolted upright in their leather chairs. Jeong Seojin had collapsed onto the carpet, a look of utter, earth-shattering shock plastered across his face.
"C-Chairman!"
"Are you alright?!"
Jeong Seojin threw up a hand to signal he was fine and scrambled to his feet.
"Yes. I’ll head over right now."
Hanging up, he bolted out of the conference room like a madman. His dress shoes slipped on the polished floor, sending him crashing hard onto his knees, but he didn’t even care. He practically crawled on his hands and knees just to get out the door faster.
"Chairman! Chairman!"
"W-Why is he suddenly acting like that?!"
*
"Sol! Hey, Eunsol! Solly!"
Sitting at her desk and staring blankly out the classroom window, Eunsol turned her head, her long hair swishing over her shoulder.
"Want to hit up Starbucks after class? Try their new drink?"
"Sure."
"Gosh, always trying to act so chic. Anyway, what are you drinking all by yourself?" Her friend snatched the aluminum can right out of Eunsol’s hand. "...Pine bud tea? Eww, another weird drink."
"Ah, damn it! You have a death wish?" Eunsol furiously snatched the can back.
"Why do you even like that stuff so much? Only old men drink that."
"Because I want to."
"Considering you grimace like you’re drinking literal garbage every time you take a sip, it doesn’t even seem like you actually like it."
"I said, because I want to!"
Annoyed, Eunsol flicked a finger, using telekinesis to yank the plastic chair right out from under her friend. The girl let out a startled shriek as she landed hard on her rear.
"Your power! You used your power in the classroom again! I’m totally telling our homeroom teacher!"
"Yeah, yeah. Go ahead."
Eunsol was lazily waving her off when her phone chimed. Checking the caller ID, she shot up from her desk so fast her own chair tipped backward.
"Oh my, what’s with that reaction? A boy? Which class? Is he handsome?"
Suddenly, a heavy textbook flew across the room, smacking her nosy friend squarely in the face. Eunsol hurriedly answered her phone, bolting out the classroom door before the call could drop.
*
Sanggye-dong Restricted Area.
"Haa... Haa..."
Throwing her car door open, Jin Bora sprinted toward the restricted perimeter, panting heavily. As she forced her way through the overgrown thickets, she heard loud, bustling voices up ahead.
Are there people who already made it here?
Parting the tall bushes, she stumbled into a wide clearing.
"Bora!"
"It’s been a while!"
Eunsol, who had arrived first, jumped up and down, waving her hand frantically. Cha Doyeon, Kim Sarang, and Shin Nara, who had been chatting nearby, also turned to greet her.
Jin Bora let out a breathless laugh. "Haha, look at all you busybodies. You’re completely unreachable for months, yet you run out here at the drop of a hat."
No one denied it; they simply offered sheepish, glowing smiles.
"Huff! Puff!"
Just then, a man covered in dirt and leaves from head to toe, even ruining his expensive tailored suit, stumbled out of the brush. It was the current CEO of the Magic Tower Group, Jeong Seojin.
"A-Am I late?"
"No. You’re right on time!"
Everyone happily exchanged greetings. Jin Bora grimaced as she walked over to him, picking the dead leaves out of his hair. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Look at the state of you. I’m getting secondhand embarrassment. Anyone watching would think you live out in the wild."
"Sorry. I rushed over."
As she brushed the dirt off his shoulders, a swirling dimensional gate tore open right next to them.
This time, Samia, Pharaoh Han Yoonjeong, and Hong Yul made their grand appearances.
"Hunter Hong Yul!"
"Hi everyone!"
Sitting comfortably in her wheelchair, Hong Yul beamed and waved at the group.
Tensing up at the sudden appearance of a living legend, Cha Doyeon broke into a cold sweat and offered a stiff, formal bow, while Kim Sarang laughed affectionately and casually tossed out a few jokes.
Jin Bora looked between Han Yoonjeong and Samia.
"Well, this is an unexpected combo."
"We made a deal," Samia said, crossing her arms smugly. "In exchange for halting all provocative acts of war against Tanzania, she agreed to bring me along to Korea when this day finally came."
"Hey, are you sure you should be blabbing our classified contract terms to third parties?" Han Yoonjeong grumbled, her face flushing red.
Just as Samia opened her mouth to shoot back a reply, her eyes suddenly went wide. She stared blankly at the empty space ahead.
"It’s starting."
In the wide-open expanse of the restricted zone, where there was supposed to be absolutely nothing, pure ambient mana was undulating, gathering at a single, terrifying focal point.
Everyone fell silent. Brilliant smiles broke across their faces as their eyes widened in awe. Some couldn’t hide their overwhelming anticipation, instinctively reaching out to hold each other’s hands.
"We’ve waited a long time."
"We’re finally a complete group again."
Living in a golden era of peace, completely devoid of apocalyptic calamities, was a beautiful thing. Yet, every single person standing in this clearing had been carrying a heavy, unspoken burden deep in their hearts.
But now, even that was over.
A brilliant azure radiance rippled outward, coalescing into the exact center of the void.
The legend of the great tower that had abruptly crashed into Seoul over a decade ago was being recreated. Right here. Right now.
Clasping her hands together over her chest, Jin Bora spoke, hot tears of overwhelming emotion spilling over her lashes.
"Welcome back, Yusin."
It was the true beginning of a new era.
The blinding blue radiance spread across the wide-open plains, taking the undeniable, towering shape of the Magic Tower.
FIN.
Author’s Note
Hello. This is the author, Volley.
From the start of serialization on July 26th of 2019, to the finale a year later. Thank you for your hard work! And I want to express my sincerest gratitude to all the readers who have followed Yusin’s story up until now.
When I first conceived this story, it began with the simple premise of an "overly immersed mage," but I had no idea the scale would grow to be this massive. To think that a disregarded, non-combat ability user would reach certified rank 1 and ultimately become the savior of the world! I was so deeply proud of Yusin’s rapid growth that he truly felt like my own child. Whenever he advanced in rank, I was just as thrilled as if I had won an award myself.
This was my first time attempting a daily serialization without any break days, getting my work promoted for pay-to-read, and living the life of a full-time author. Because of all these milestones, this work holds an incredibly special place in my heart.
There were certainly times when exhaustion set in, but thanks to the readers who found joy in my writing, my spirit never broke. I would read your comments and literally tremble with delight, sometimes even screaming out loud alone in my room. Looking back, the entire serialization period was a genuinely joyous time for me.
Now, I can say it with absolute confidence: I love writing.
I have learned so much by guiding a single story all the way to its conclusion. I am still pondering what kind of tale my next work will be, but I can boldly promise that my next project will bring another refreshing burst of joy to your daily lives, complete with well-crafted episodes and a charming core concept.
Lastly, to everyone who has followed Yusin’s adventure up to this very moment, I want to express my sincerest gratitude once again.
Knowing that my novel, Magic Monopoly: Reborn as the Sole Magic Tower Master, will find a place on each and every one of your completed reading lists is the absolute greatest honor I could ever ask for as an author.
I will wrap up this letter here, with the firm promise to greet you again in the near future with an even more entertaining story.
Please take care of your health during these unsettling times, and above all, stay happy.
Sincerely,
Author Volley
