Magus Supremacy
Chapter 1053
Chapter 1053
The larger battle was still ongoing with both sides suffering heavy losses by the second.
Men were beginning to drop like flies, and the devastation was immense as bodies were beginning to pile up.
By now, the whole town was in ruins, with the buildings turned completely into rubble.
Lilly had taken a quick break from shooting arrows to survey the battlefield to see how the others were handling their fights with the Zodiacs. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Her hands were dripping with blood due to the constant pulling and releasing of her bowstrings.
Even though she had coated her fingers with Ki, nothing could stop the strings from wearing the energy down over time and causing injuries on her digits.
She didn’t stop due to exhaustion or the fact that she was bleeding.
She simply paused to check the battlefield and see how the others were handling what came their way.
And in that brief window, she spotted that Gunther and the team had taken down Z7.
A smile flashed across her face as she wanted to cheer but kept it contained.
They could still do this.
Z7’s defeat proved that the Zodiacs weren’t invincible.
They could bleed. And most especially, they could lose their lives.
"Ah, fuck!" Randin, who was beside her shooting out balls of energy from his cannon, shouted in irritation as he kicked the contraption.
"What happened?"
Randin frowned as he looked at the ongoing clash.
Even after the heavy losses on both sides, their numbers still reached the hundreds of thousands and hadn’t thinned yet into mere thousands.
"I have run out of beast cores to power my machine," the dwarf replied with a grimace on his face.
"So what now? Do you want to rest and watch?" Lilly questioned, her eyes still surveying the fight.
A Dawn force member was struck by a spear right in front of her eyes.
Their saving grace that the conflict hadn’t spilled into the area of the building they were on was that Elara had been controlling vines and plants in the vicinity to take out whatever headed their way.
Even Lilly had been sending out arrows to whoever was foolish enough to charge their direction.
"Sit down and watch? Hell no! I came to see the Otherworlders’ downfall, and I promised to participate in it, and I will."
His pendant glowed brightly, and soon, a suit of armor rested on the dwarf’s body, followed by a helmet, and then a heavy hammer rested in his grasp.
"... This damned machine won’t stop me from ripping the Otherworlders to shreds. Elara! A boost!"
A vine shot in his direction and wrapped around his legs before lifting and flinging him in the direction of the main battlefield.
He soared through the air with the speed of an arrow let loose.
His hammer was raised above his head as he caught sight of a Dawn force member about to be decapitated after losing his footing.
Crashing downward, Randin’s hammer smashed into the head of the Otherworlder with all his might, causing fissures to snake through the earth.
The opponent buckled under the weight of the slam, and as he was falling, the Dawn member swiftly shot forward and stabbed the person through the throat, causing blood to ooze out.
The combatant’s eyes rolled over before he crashed into the ground, with Randin landing right over him.
Rolling to his feet, a glow appeared around his hand, and a shuriken materialized in his grip, which he hurled forward, sending it impaling another Otherworlder in the neck.
"I will make sure I take hundreds of you all to hell with me," Randin declared as a shield appeared in his other hand, which he bashed with his hammer.
"So bring it on, bastards!"
...
In the other battlefield, Lyra could be seen stunned as Z6’s right claw shot toward her from behind like a viper intent on biting its prey.
Lightning crackled all around Max’s frame as he clapped his hands forward, sending a long and sharp lightning projectile flying forward akin to a long needle.
Z6 caught sight of this then immediately twisted around Lyra, therefore allowing the projectile to fly past him with blazing speed.
It crashed into the ground with a loud boom as it dug a deep trench into the surface.
His left claw slashed toward the girl, but due to the small window of opportunity given to her by Max, she was able to bound backward as the claw sliced through the space she had occupied just now.
Dashing forward, Dante could be seen gripping a massive earth club in his hand as he laid eyes on the Zodiac.
Leo was also coming in hot from behind with his slender sword pointed forward.
Z6 looked at the duo and proceeded to shift into a stance.
Dante swung the club with all his might, sending it speeding in the Zodiac’s direction as the air could be seen bending around the weapon.
Leo’s sword darted toward Z6’s back like a snake ready to make a precise, one-off strike on its victim.
Leaping into the air, Z6 twirled around like a wheel, dodging the club that was now streaking toward Leo, who quickly pulled back and side-stepped the accidental trajectory.
Without losing a beat, Z6 spun around and bashed his toes into Dante’s head with incredible force.
Deep chasms appeared on the ground as Dante refused to be sent flying.
Instead, he defiantly hurled his club from below, sending it rushing at the Zodiac, who quickly vaulted backward in time.
"Lightning creation magic!"
Z6 spun around to see the air crackling around Max with lethal intent.
’A strike to kill? Shit. I need to move.’
"Aerius Ultra!" Lyra bellowed, and soon, a humongous gale of wind roared out and burst forward with impressive speed, smashing into the Zodiac’s face with crushing weight.
He was slammed into the earth with thunderous force.
"Terminator," Max finished his spell.
The world turned blue for a moment as an ear-splitting bang rolled over the landscape.
An incredibly huge creation that resembled an elephant of old, but wreathed entirely in lightning, hovered above Z6.
Then,
WAM!
An intense blast of wind mixed with lightning burst out with thunderous force as the whole battlefield shook with tremendous strength the moment the creation crashed into the Zodiac.
A gigantic crater burst open, followed by fissures that snaked through the earth from the point of impact.
The blast of wind was enough to send Max and his allies sliding backward for a few moments.
