Magus Supremacy
Chapter 984: Fenrir’s Doom?
Chapter 984
Gunther and Ortiz—the final vice leader—were now in full swing.
Their clash had just ignited with total fervor, and the elite instructor showed absolutely no chill as he immediately lunged in for the kill.
His curved blades streaked through the atmosphere toward Ortiz’s neck.
A pair of Ki swords materialized in the vice leader’s hands, and within moments, Gunther’s strikes were parried off to the side with calculated precision.
Visual Ki immediately erupted around the instructor’s legs in the form of a surging yellow wave.
This boosted Gunther’s velocity as he suddenly rushed forward, closing the gap between them with a brutal headbutt aimed directly at Ortiz.
Calmly, the vice leader smiled, then swung his own head forward with Ki coating his forehead.
Bang—!
A sharp, ringing sound echoed as the two skulls collided with immense force, causing the ground beneath their feet to shatter under the extreme strain.
Disengaging for a split second, the duo lunged at each other with blistering speed once more.
Clang—! Clang—! Clang—!
The warriors quickly delved into a series of high-level exchanges.
Deflecting and blocking the strikes from the opposing combatant was no easy feat as they went at each other with relentless aggression.
The ground groaned beneath their weight while shockwaves ripped outwardly.
Nobody else dared to get close to the pair.
They descended into a flurry of strikes.
The only thing visible in this high-speed movement was the spray of sparks as steel blades clashed against Ki swords.
Flickers of yellow light flew between the two as they danced around the cratered earth.
The sound of their weapons hitting each other was like the rolling of thunder—unrelenting, unstoppable, and continuous.
The duo crashed together, both hoping to find a vulnerability, yet there was none... well, not for Gunther.
Frantically observing the man while they clashed, Ortiz’s eyes never left Gunther.
He observed. He watched.
Every twitch, every micro-movement, every positioning, and every angle of the warrior’s body was being registered and downloaded into the vice leader’s mind.
Sidestepping a fluid slash from Gunther, Ortiz compressed Ki at the soles of his feet and quickly flash-stepped toward the man with full force.
This was a decisive thrust, aimed to kill, yet not fully committed to the motion.
Gunther read the movement and swiftly bounded backward just in time as the sword crashed into the empty air with a resounding bang that shook the foundations of the battlefield.
"Waterfall Bash!" Gunther howled as he swung his twin swords downward.
A crushing wave of yellow Ki roared down on Ortiz.
Unfortunately, the man rolled aside in time as the wave crashed into the earth, immediately transforming the soil into a giant crater.
Rolling to his knees, Ortiz jumped to his side as Gunther’s blade sliced through the air where he had been positioned only a second ago.
Jumping to his feet, Ortiz pointed his Ki sword at Gunther, who quickly whirled around.
His curved blades lashed through the air, batting and parrying away invisible Ki projectiles from Ortiz, who kept his weapon leveled at him.
He deflected each and every strike with practiced ease.
Seeing that his opponent was preoccupied, Ortiz wasted no time in bolting forward with incredible velocity.
Within moments, his sword was cleaving through the air toward Gunther’s abdomen. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Despite being occupied by the invisible attacks, Gunther’s eyes rolled to the side to spot the blade heading for his gut.
Taking a full step backward and angling his frame away, the sword sliced through the space he had just occupied, merely ripping through his clothing.
An inch away from hitting his flesh, Gunther’s blade shot upward like a striking snake, hitting the Ki sword away from his body just in time.
However, he wasn’t given the opportunity to rise upright before Ortiz darted forward in a swift, final thrust toward Gunther’s abdomen.
Ortiz smiled as he watched his sword approaching the man with maximum speed.
It appeared Gunther was unable to react in time.
Unknown to his opponent, the vice leader had been meticulously studying every single person within the Dawn forces.
Even while they were fighting, Ortiz had been calculating and observing, while Gunther simply threw out practiced, skillful, but savage swings.
The vice leader knew it would be impossible for Gunther to dodge this strike.
It was poised for the kill.
.....
Fenrir grimaced in pain.
White-hot agony that couldn’t be named surged through him as he felt his shoulder ripped open, his arm barely hanging on by a few mangled tendrils.
He staggered backward while looking at Oscroch, who smirked at him devilishly, eyes glinting with malice.
The warrior didn’t waste a moment before lunging forward again.
Fenrir was forced to grit his teeth, lightning fizzling across his feet as he tracked the environment, waiting for Oscroch to appear.
He had been a fool.
The damned opening he had spotted was a fucking feint, and he had taken the bait.
Now, he had to pay for it as his hand dangled lifelessly.
Twirling around just in time, a lightning sword flashed into his good hand.
Clang—!
Literal sparks flew as the mage managed to intercept Oscroch’s strike with a single limb.
He was pushing back, eyes glowing with a feral anger, the clouds above rumbling with each grit of his teeth.
A second later—
Screech—!
A dragon made entirely of lightning screamed downward in a vengeful wrath.
Oscroch’s eyes widened in horror as the creature disintegrated any and every man in its path toward Fenrir.
The vice leader looked around, Ki swirling around his feet as he prepared to leap away before the beast reached him.
As if reading his thoughts, the lightning crackling around Fenrir’s feet stretched outward like a snake. ... No!
Like a chain of some sorts.
More and more strikes rushed forth.
An electrifying shock surged through the vice leader’s frame as the bolts of lightning snaked through his body.
He was paralyzed.
Stuck to the ground, he was only able to muster a single, pathetic twitch of his fingers.
Nothing more.
Kicking backward, Fenrir slammed his feet into Oscroch’s chest with all the strength he could muster, sending the vice leader flying backward into the path of the descent.
Screech—!
The dragon swooped in from behind, tearing through Oscroch’s back and leaving a gaping hole that could be seen from his spine to his abdomen.
Blood sprayed from his mouth as the dragon burrowed into his chest, and in the process, the warrior’s body exploded under the volatile force of the lightning within him.
Gore, organs, and matter sprayed into the air as the second vice leader of the Behemoth Clan lost his life.
Fenrir crashed onto his back in thunderous pain, unable to move a finger.
His mana was completely depleted after fighting for forty-something minutes straight without a single rest.
’I-I-I just want to sleep.’
A shadow was cast over him before he could close his eyes.
Snapping them back open, his pupils dilated immediately.
It was Devan, and in his hand was a Ki spear thrust at Fenrir’s head with a speed far beyond anything the exhausted mage could muster at this point.
SHELCH—!
The sound of flesh being ripped open was heard.
