The sacred shore of the Ganga River had fallen into complete silence.
Only the crashing river waves and Devara’s increasingly panicked voice could be heard.
Devara hurriedly moved between the five motionless crocodiles, checking them over again and again with growing worry.
His earlier excitement had completely vanished now.
All that remained was fear.
"What’s wrong with them?"
He checked Varga again carefully.
Her body remained unmoving.
No reaction. No response.
No matter what he did.
Immediately another terrible possibility entered his mind. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"...Wait."
His expression changed drastically.
"Can’t they breathe outside the water?!"
The guards exchanged nervous glances hearing him panic aloud.
But even while speaking, Devara himself immediately rejected the thought.
"No... no that’s impossible..."
He shook his head quickly.
"Crocodiles breathe air. They store it in their lungs before diving. If they need breath they return to the surface..."
His voice became more unsettled the more he spoke.
"Then why aren’t they waking up?!"
For the first time since the guards had arrived—They saw genuine helplessness on their king’s face.
Not anger. Not confidence.
But Fear of losing.
Because despite his strength, despite his divine blessings—He truly believed something terrible had happened to the companions connected to his childhood.
Meanwhile Gandhari quietly watched him.
And in that moment—She understood something important.
These creatures were not random beasts to him.
They were part of his childhood. Part of his memories.
Perhaps even part of his loneliness during earlier years.
That realization softened her gaze immediately.
Without hesitation, Gandhari stepped beside him and gently placed her hand upon his shoulder.
"...."
The simple warmth of her touch grounded him slightly.
"Devara."
Her voice remained calm and steady.
"They are not harmed."
He looked toward her uncertainly.
"But they aren’t moving..."
Before Gandhari could answer—Something changed.
Suddenly catching everyone off guard—One of the crocodile’s bodies emitted faint light.
Everyone froze seeing it.
"...."
The glow vanished just as it appeared.
Then returned again. Flickering.
On.... Off.... On.... Off....
Like something beneath the surface of their bodies was awakening.
Then the same thing began happening to all five crocodiles simultaneously.
The guards instinctively stepped backward feeling something is not right.
Several nearly dropped their weapons entirely.
"What in the heavens..."
The sacred shore itself began glowing softly beneath the flickering lights erupting from the crocodiles bodies.
The flickering intensified rapidly.
Faster. Brighter. As the time passed.
The crocodile’s gigantic bodies trembled as ancient divine energy burst outward around them.
-BAM!
Then suddenly—The light exploded.
A blinding radiance engulfed the entire shore.
The guards immediately shielded their eyes.
"...."
"...."
"...."
Even Gandhari and Rajmata Satyavati turned their faces away from the overwhelming brightness.
But not Devara.
His emerald green eyes gleamed brightly beneath the divine radiance.
-Gleam!
Perfectly unaffected by the brilliance radiance before him.
And because of that—He saw everything clearly.
The five gigantic crocodiles slowly lifted from the ground into the air while still unconscious.
The river winds howled violently around them.
-SWOOSH!
Sacred energy surged across the shore.
Then—Their bodies began breaking apart.
Not violently. Beautifully. As if they were becoming one with the nature.
Massive scales dissolved into countless glowing particles of light drifting through the evening sky.
Claws. Tails. Jaws.
Ancient monstrous forms slowly scattered away before Devara’s stunned eyes like dissolving stars.
"...."
The guards watching through partially covered eyes stood frozen in disbelief.
Even Satyavati’s breath caught slightly.
Because what they were witnessing was no ordinary miracle.
It felt ancient. Divine event might be a fated one which should be fullfilled through Devara’s hands.
Meanwhile the scattered particles of light slowly began gathering together again.
Reforming. Reshaping.
Constructing entirely different forms.
Human forms this time instead of a crocodiles shapes.
Clearly feminine if one looks at their body.
Graceful silhouettes suspended above the sacred riverbank.
Yet their bodies remained fully covered in brilliant divine light, making it impossible to see their faces clearly.
Only their outlines.
Long flowing hair made of light itself.
Slender celestial forms.
Graceful hands slowly taking shape.
And hovering beneath the evening sky—Five radiant feminine figures emerged from the remnants of the crocodiles.
"...."
"...."
"...."
Devara stood completely stunned by what was happening before him.
His childhood crocodile buddy... Who he had always played with ...was not a crocodile at all.
It was a female along with its family.
After Five Minutes...
For nearly five full minutes, the sacred shore of the Ganga River remained drowned beneath divine radiance.
Nobody spoke. Nobody even dared move.
"...."
"...."
"...."
The royal guards stood frozen like statues while the evening sky itself seemed to glow from the overwhelming sacred energy surrounding the transformation.
The flowing river winds carried shimmering particles of light across the shore like drifting stars.
And suspended above the earth—The five radiant feminine forms slowly completed their transformation.
Then—The light finally began fading.
Slowly. Gracefully.
And as the brilliance receded—The figures beneath it became visible.
A collective stunned silence swept across the riverbank.
"...."
"...."
"...."
Because standing there were five women of extraordinary beauty.
Not ordinary beauty. Not royal elegance.
But the kind of rare celestial beauty that seemed almost unreal to mortal eyes.
Like exotic flowers blooming once in an age.
Each carried distinct features and aura, yet all possessed the unmistakable grace of divine beings.
Long flowing hair shimmered softly beneath the evening light.
Their skin almost glowed faintly from lingering divine energy.
Sacred ornaments formed naturally around them through the fading particles of light.
Even the air surrounding them carried fragrance like fresh blossoms after rain.
The guards stared completely speechless.
One soldier accidentally dropped his spear into the sand without noticing.
Meanwhile Gandhari and Rajmata Satyavati looked equally stunned by the breathtaking scene before them.
"...."
"...."
Then something even stranger happened.
As though sensing the sacred transformation—Butterflies suddenly appeared from the surrounding riverside gardens and forests.
Dozens. Then hundreds.
Colorful wings danced around the five celestial women beneath the fading sunset while glowing particles still drifted through the air.
The entire riverbank transformed into something almost dreamlike.
And slowly—The five women descended gently back toward the earth.
Landing before Devara.
The young king simply stood there stunned.
Completely stunned.
Still processing of how his crocodile buddy had transformed into a beautiful women.
For perhaps the first time in many months—Words genuinely failed him.
Because moments ago he had been dragging gigantic crocodiles out of the river while panicking they might suffocate.
Now five celestial women stood before him instead.
Meanwhile among them—Varga watched his expression carefully.
"...."
And seeing the rare stunned look upon Devara’s face—A faint smirk appeared on her lips.
-Smirk!
Honestly?
After years of emotional suffering caused by this overexcited menace dragging her by the tail across divine waters—This reaction felt satisfying.
Then finally—She spoke. Her voice was soft.
Sweet.
Melodious enough to resemble music itself.
"Thank you, Devara."
The sound alone seemed to calm the entire atmosphere around them.
She lowered her head slightly respectfully.
"For freeing me and my sisters from our curse."
The guards collectively looked even more shocked now.
Curse? Sisters?
Meanwhile Devara finally snapped out of his stunned silence.
His eyes widened further as realization crashed into him piece by piece.
Then immediately—He pointed directly at Varga in disbelief.
"...Wait. You’re my crocodile buddy?"
The entire sacred shore became quiet again.
Varga’s beautiful expression instantly twitched.
Her eyebrow visibly jerked hearing those words.
"...."
Behind her, the other apsaras immediately looked away trying not to laugh.
Because after all this divine transformation... After a century-old curse had finally broken...
After revealing their true celestial forms... This man’s first reaction was still:
’You’re my crocodile buddy?’
Varga slowly closed her eyes for a moment remembering every painful childhood memory involving this human.
The tail pulling. The underwater chasing.
The "games." The emotional damage.
Then finally she opened her eyes again and looked directly at him.
And despite the twitching irritation still lingering upon her face—She nodded her head.
"Yes."
A small dangerous smile appeared afterward.
"I am."
Devara stared at her silently for several seconds longer.
"..."
Then slowly—A massive grin spread across his face.
-Grin!
"My crocodile buddy turned into a beautiful woman!"
Varga’s eye twitched harder.
Behind her, her sisters immediately burst into laughter while even Gandhari covered her mouth trying to suppress her own smile.
Meanwhile the exhausted guards silently realized something terrifying.
Their king was absolutely going to continue calling a celestial apsara "crocodile buddy" forever now.
Finally unable to endure it anymore, Varga stepped forward with visible frustration.
"Please stop calling me that."
Devara blinked innocently.
-Blink!
"What?"
Varga pointed at herself dramatically.
"How can you call a beautiful apsara like me crocodile buddy?!"
Her voice carried genuine outrage now.
"Do I still look like a crocodile to you?"
The guards immediately stiffened trying not to laugh accidentally and lose their heads.
Meanwhile Gandhari quietly lowered her face slightly, shoulders trembling faintly from suppressed amusement.
But Devara? He genuinely looked confused. Completely confused.
"...."
Because didn’t she a crocodile a moment ago.
"...Then what should I call you?"
That single question nearly broke Varga spiritually.
For several seconds she simply stood there staring at him silently.
Deep breaths. Very deep breaths.
She had suffered a hundred years as a cursed crocodile.
She could survive this too.
Slowly Varga coughed lightly and regained her composure.
Inwardly she reminded herself repeatedly so she could control her emotions well.
’He is your savior.... He freed you.... Do not strangle him....’
’He is your savior.... He freed you.... Do not strangle him....’
’He is your savior.... He freed you.... Do not strangle him.’
Even if he was also the same tiny demon who had dragged her by the tail through sacred waters for years.
Finally calming herself, Varga gracefully straightened her posture.
The river winds gently moved through her long hair while the remaining divine glow around her slowly faded completely.
-Breeze.
Then she formally introduced herself.
"I am Varga."
Her voice softened slightly now.
"An apsara who once danced within the celestial court of King Kubera alongside my sisters."
As she stepped aside slightly, the other four apsaras smiled warmly before introducing themselves one after another.
The crimson-eyed beauty stepped forward first.
"I am Saurabheyi."
Then came the silver-eyed apsara with graceful elegance.
"Samichi."
The green-eyed one bowed lightly afterward.
"Vudvuda."
And finally the last among them smiled gently.
"Lata."
The sacred shore almost seemed brighter standing before the five celestial dancers.
Even the guards looked completely mesmerized now.
Because these were not ordinary women.
They carried the unmistakable grace of heaven itself.
Meanwhile Devara listened carefully to every introduction.
Then after several thoughtful seconds—He nodded seriously.
-Nod!
"Understood."
Varga visibly relaxed slightly.
Finally. Progress.
Then Devara smiled brightly again.
"Nice to meet you properly, Varga."
Her sisters smiled approvingly.
Until immediately afterward—Devara casually added.
"But I still think crocodile buddy sounds friendlier."
Silence. Absolute silence.
"...."
"...."
"...."
Varga slowly closed her eyes.
The sisters burst into uncontrollable laughter.
Even Satyavati outright laughed openly now while Gandhari covered her mouth helplessly.
Meanwhile the guards collectively realized something tragic.
No matter how divine or beautiful these apsaras became—Their king was absolutely never letting that nickname die.
