Married For Now
Chapter 260: NEW LOVE INTEREST?
IT WASN’T like it was Cho Euntak’s first time in a bar.
But it was his first time going in one alone, so he was nervous.
Thankfully, the vibe there was pretty chill.
It was just like a regular bar, except the guests were all Alphas.
Alphas looking for fellow Alphas to hook up with, to be precise.
"Is it your first time here, sir?"
The friendly bartender asked the harmless question.
"Yes, it’s my first time here," Cho Euntak said shyly. "Is it too obvious?"
The bartender chuckled, and then he nodded.
"Aside from the fact that you’re a new face, you also look very nervous."
Oh.
Cho Euntak’s face turned red, a bit embarrassed.
He didn’t know what else to say, so he just smiled.
"Kid, you look like a nice person, so let me give you a friendly piece of advice," the bartender said in a low voice as if he didn’t want other people to hear what he was about to say. "You’re exactly the type of most Alphas here— innocent, looks obedient. This may sound harsh, but you’re an Alpha who can easily pass off as an Omega. And most Alphas here like that. Did I offend you?"
"No, not at all," Cho Euntak said while shaking his head. "I’ve always known that I don’t look like an Alpha."
He was a late bloomer.
Hence, he lived his life as a Beta.
Even after he awakened as a Recessive Alpha, he still lived his life the way he knew.
I mean, nothing much has changed in me.
"Thank you for being understanding," the bartender said kindly. "Most Alphas don’t like it when people say they can pass off as an Omega."
"I don’t see it as an insult," Cho Euntak said. "Being an Omega isn’t easy, and I know an Omega who’s an amazing person."
It was none other than Park Sohee, of course.
Sohee Hyung is a kind and strong Omega.
"You don’t only look nice— you really seem like a good person, too."
It wasn’t the bartender who spoke this time.
In fact, the bartender excused himself after the person sitting next to Cho Euntak spoke to him.
Now I’m nervous.
But since the bartender didn’t warn him about the guy, then maybe the stranger wasn’t a dangerous person?
I can do this.
"Thank you for saying that about Omegas."
"Huh?"
The stranger smiled. "I have a younger brother who’s an Omega. He’s often looked down by the Alphas around him. And most of the Alphas around me are jerks who look down on Omegas. So, it’s refreshing to hear an Alpha genuinely being kind towards Omegas."
Cho Euntak realized that he began to relax while listening to the stranger talk.
He has a soothing voice.
And now that he was looking at the guy closer...
Oh, he’s handsome.
Cho Euntak also thought the guy smelled nice.
"I’m Jung Heesung," the stranger said, extending his hand to Cho Euntak. "I’m 22 years old. Please tell me you’re not a minor."
"I wouldn’t be able to get in this bar if I were a minor," Cho Euntak assured the man while accepting his handshake. "I’m Cho Euntak, and I’m 20 years old."
"Are you in school? Working?"
"I’m a college freshman at Yonhee University."
Jung Heesung’s face beamed, and it looked like he didn’t want to let go of Cho Euntak’s hand after he did. "I also go to Yonhee University. I’m in the Film Department."
"I’m in the Webtoon Department, Sunbae-nim."
"Hey, no need to be formal. You can just call me ’hyung.’"
"Ah, sure, Hyung-nim."
Jung Heesung laughed softly. "Do you want to get out of here and talk somewhere else?"
Cho Euntak let out a soft gasp.
Yes, he wasn’t experienced in the dating department.
But that didn’t mean he was that clueless.
I didn’t expect to meet someone nice immediately, so now I’m panicking.
"Hyung-nim, I know that most people come to this place for a hook-up. So, I understand if you think I’m also here for the same reason," Cho Euntak said shyly, his cheeks burning from embarrassment. "But I’ve never been with anyone else. I-I’m not yet ready for sex. I-If possible, I want to try to get to know the other person first..."
Jung Heesung blinked slowly as if he were trying to absorb what Cho Euntak was trying to say.
I guess I need to be more direct?
And, so, he did.
"Please ask me out on a date first before you try getting into my pants."
Cho Euntak was too embarrassed to look at Jung Heesung, so he shut his eyes tight.
Then, after a few seconds...
"Pwuhaha!"
Huh?
Jung Heesung suddenly burst out laughing. "Euntak-ah, you’re so cute."
Really?
Cho Euntak opened his eyes, still feeling on guard. "Thank you, but I’m still not sleeping with you tonight, Hyung-nim."
Jung Heesung laughed again. "Is exchanging contact numbers be alright then?"
"Yes, I can totally do that."
"Then how about talking over a cup of coffee?" Jung Heesung asked, smiling charmingly at Cho Euntak. "I’m not going to ask you to sleep with me, Euntak-ah." He paused for a moment. "Not yet, at least."
’Not yet.’
So, it means this hyung is interested in me in that way.
Cho Euntak blushed when the realization hit him.
Ah, other people find me attractive, huh?

"CHO EUNTAK, are you close to Jung Heesung?"
What?
Cho Euntak knitted his eyebrows after hearing Jung Heesung’s name from Baek Jeho. "I wouldn’t say we’re close, but Heesung Hyung-nim is a good sunbae to me," he said, looking at Baek Jeho suspiciously. "How did you know him?"
"Because I keep seeing you hanging out with that sunbae," Baek Jeho said, frowning. "Cho Euntak, that person is dangerous."
"Excuse me?"
"I heard from the other sunbaes that Jung Heesung is a fuck boy who likes toying around with virgins."
Haaah.
"Baek Jeho, watch your mouth."
"No, you better listen to me, Cho Euntak," Baek Jeho said sternly. "Stay away from that sunbae."
Cho Euntak clenched his hands tight. "I won’t stay away from Heesung Hyung-nim because I want to date him."
"WHAT?!"
