Marvel : Starting by Copying Wolverine's Power
Chapter 308: The Watchers Appear
Levi’s figure appeared above the Avengers Compound.
After landing, he casually waved a hand and sealed the spatial rift behind him.
His gaze swept across the gathered heroes, and the corner of his mouth lifted slightly.
Before he could speak, an aged voice echoed through the void.
It came from no direction at all.
Instead, it reverberated directly inside everyone’s minds.
"Greedy One."
Levi raised an eyebrow.
"Your actions have severely disrupted the entropy balance of the Multiverse."
The sky above the compound began to distort.
A massive blue figure condensed in the void.
Bald.
Featureless white eyes.
Flowing white robes.
A Watcher.
Then another.
A third.
A fourth.
...
Twelve in total.
The projections of twelve Watchers appeared simultaneously in the heavens, their gazes enveloping the entire compound.
The leading Watcher looked down upon Levi.
His voice rolled like thunder.
"You restarted the timeline of an entire universe."
"You erased the deaths of billions of lives."
"You forcibly rewrote causality itself."
"Such actions must be judged."
Levi stood where he was and looked up at the twelve colossal beings.
Then he smiled.
"Judged?"
His voice wasn’t loud, but it reached the consciousness of every Watcher with perfect clarity.
"You spectators who do nothing but watch from the sidelines think you’re qualified to judge me?"
A flicker of anger crossed the leading Watcher’s face before quickly disappearing.
They had existed for billions of years.
They had witnessed countless universes rise and fall.
Long ago, they had learned not to be ruled by emotion.
"You do not understand what you have done."
Though his tone remained calm, a trace of urgency had appeared.
"You restarted an entire universe’s timeline and erased the deaths of billions."
"This has seriously disrupted the entropy equilibrium of the Multiverse."
"Entropy equilibrium?"
Levi raised an eyebrow.
"Every universe possesses a fixed trajectory of increasing entropy."
"The birth and death of life."
"The rise and fall of civilizations."
"These are all components of that trajectory."
"By forcibly reversing a universe’s march toward death, you have placed an illegitimate weight upon the scales of the Multiverse."
"So?"
Levi sounded as though they were discussing lunch.
The Watcher’s expression darkened.
"Therefore, you must submit to judgment."
His voice became stern.
"Either surrender the power you gained while restarting that universe..."
"Or we will execute dimensional exile."
Tony stared up at the twelve towering figures.
His expression had become extremely grim.
"Levi, who the hell are these guys?"
"Watchers."
Doctor Strange answered from nearby.
His face looked no better.
"One of the oldest races in existence. Their purpose is to observe everything and record everything—but never interfere."
"That’s the law they’ve followed for billions of years."
"Then what are they doing now?" Tony frowned.
"Making an exception."
Strange drew a slow breath.
"Throughout the entire history of the Multiverse, you can count the number of things capable of making the Watchers break their oath on one hand."
Levi listened to the exchange.
His smile widened.
He looked directly at the leading Watcher.
"How long have you been watching me?"
The Watcher fell silent briefly.
"Since the first time you displayed unusual abilities."
Levi nodded.
"So over eighty years."
"You’ve been watching me for more than eighty years."
"Watching me go from an ordinary man to what I am now."
"Watching me struggle to survive on a World War II battlefield."
"Watching me sleep beneath the ice for decades."
"Watching me climb step by step until I reached this point."
His voice remained calm.
Yet everyone present felt an overwhelming pressure settle upon them.
"For eighty years, you did nothing."
"You merely watched."
"Recorded."
"Like gods perched above the clouds, observing the struggles of insects."
For the first time, Levi noticed a slight stiffness in the Watchers’ forms.
"And now?"
"Because I did something you didn’t like, you’ve suddenly decided to show yourselves?"
The smile vanished from his face.
Only cold authority remained.
"What gives you that right?"
The twelve Watchers moved simultaneously.
Ancient power gathered in the void as they raised their hands.
The precursor to Dimensional Exile.
Once completed, Levi would be permanently expelled from this universe and cast into the spaces between realities.
But Levi was faster.
Golden light flashed within his eyes.
The Concept of Greed activated completely.
"If all of you enjoy watching so much..."
His voice echoed throughout the universe.
"I’ll show you what real power looks like."
The gates of his Inner Universe opened.
Not a simple energy vortex.
A true universe.
Complete.
Self-contained.
Governed by its own laws.
Fourteen Laws intertwined within it, forming a vast abyss capable of devouring stars.
All twelve Watchers unleashed Dimensional Exile simultaneously.
Silver-white light converged from twelve directions, attempting to erase Levi from existence.
The moment those beams touched the golden radiance surrounding him—
They vanished.
The leading Watcher’s expression finally changed.
"Impossible."
For the first time, uncertainty entered his voice.
"Dimensional Exile is among the oldest authorities possessed by our race."
"No being should be capable of resisting it."
Levi raised a hand.
A sphere of silver-white energy appeared above his palm.
The very power the Watchers had just used.
"Your authority belongs to me now."
Copy.
The word echoed through the Watchers’ minds.
At last, they understood what made this man truly terrifying.
He wasn’t resisting their power.
He was stealing their authority.
Levi gave them no time to react.
His psychic power spread like countless invisible tendrils, locking onto every Watcher’s coordinates simultaneously.
The Concept of Greed operated at full force.
It began forcibly analyzing and extracting the core authority of the Watcher race.
Observation of All Things.
The fundamental source of their existence.
The power that allowed them to perceive every secret within the Multiverse.
The leading Watcher felt his essence being torn apart by an irresistible force.
It was as though someone were peeling away his soul and ripping out the foundation of his existence.
"STOP!"
His roar shook the void.
"You have no idea what you’re doing!"
"Of course I do."
Levi smiled.
Mockery filled his expression.
"I’m robbing you."
The devouring intensified.
The twelve Watchers began fading.
Their power visibly drained away.
Several of the weaker Watchers started disintegrating into countless motes of starlight.
"You will regret this!"
The leading Watcher struggled desperately.
"We sought to erase you not because you restarted that universe!"
"But because your actions repaired a critical breach!"
Levi paused slightly.
"What breach?"
"The Anti-Monitor’s pathway into the Multiverse!"
Despair filled the Watcher’s voice.
"That zombie universe was already a node corrupted by the Anti-Monitor!"
"It served as a bridge through which he infiltrated the Positive Matter Universes!"
"By restarting that universe, you severed one of his tentacles!"
Levi raised an eyebrow.
"Isn’t that a good thing?"
"A good thing?"
The Watcher laughed bitterly.
"Do you think the Anti-Monitor will simply accept that?"
"Do you think those ancient beings will allow anyone to disrupt their plans?"
"You’ve been marked, Greedy One."
"From the moment you restarted that universe, you became the primary target of the Anti-Monitor and those ancient existences!"
Levi fell silent briefly.
Then he laughed.
"So what?"
The devouring intensified once more.
The leading Watcher released a final scream of despair.
His form rapidly shrank as his origin was consumed by Levi’s Inner Universe.
At the final moment before his consciousness vanished, he forcefully poured everything he had observed over billions of years into Levi’s mind.
A near-suicidal act.
"If you desire the authority to observe all things..."
"Then bear its price!"
Countless images flooded Levi’s consciousness.
The complete structure of the Multiverse.
The birth and destruction of endless parallel worlds.
Ancient entities hidden within the deepest dimensions.
And—
A figure imprisoned inside a prison of time.
He wore purple armor.
His appearance differed from any Kang Levi had ever encountered.
His eyes contained a weariness and despair that transcended time itself.
The Kang’s lips moved.
Levi understood the words instantly.
"He’s coming."
Then came the final vision.
At the edge of the DC Universe lay a region of space being consumed by darkness.
Countless stars were extinguished.
Countless civilizations perished.
And at the center of that darkness—
A being so vast it defied description was slowly taking shape.
The Anti-Monitor.
His true body was descending.
Levi opened his eyes.
He stood amidst the ruined remains of the Avengers Compound.
The aftermath of the battle had devastated everything.
Fragments of Tony’s armor littered the ground.
Doctor Strange’s Cloak of Levitation was actively repairing injuries on its master.
Yet no one cared.
Everyone was staring at Levi.
His eyes had changed.
The black pupils he once possessed now shone with an eerie silver-white light.
The outward manifestation of the Authority of Observation operating within him.
Wanda gripped his hand tightly.
She could feel her lover undergoing some kind of transformation.
It felt like watching a star collapse into a black hole.
Terrifying.
Yet awe-inspiring.
Levi said nothing.
He was processing the visions.
The memories of billions of years were unimaginably vast.
Even he needed time to organize them.
Still, several key truths had already engraved themselves into his mind.
First.
The Anti-Monitor’s true body was awakening.
That incomprehensibly vast existence was consuming everything at the edge of the DC Universe.
Second.
The Kang imprisoned within the temporal prison knew something important.
He had said He’s coming.
But who was he?
The Anti-Monitor?
Or someone else?
Third.
The Watchers had sought to erase him for more than entropy balance.
Buried deep within those memories, Levi had sensed older, more secretive existences.
They hid within the shadows of the Multiverse.
Manipulating everything.
The Watchers were merely pieces on the board.
The true players had yet to reveal themselves.
Levi took a slow breath and pushed the chaotic thoughts aside for now.
Then he turned toward his allies.
Tony.
Strange.
Thor.
Wanda.
Clark.
These people had fought beside him through life and death—from the Infinity War until now.
They deserved the truth.
"The Anti-Monitor is coming."
His voice was calm.
Yet everyone present immediately changed expression.
"Not an avatar."
"Not a projection."
"The real thing."
He raised a hand.
Silver-white light gathered above his palm and formed a vision.
The edge of the DC Universe.
Stars dying in darkness.
Civilizations being erased.
And at the center—
A colossal figure large enough to swallow entire star systems.
"This is what I saw inside the Watchers’ memories."
There was no fear in Levi’s voice.
Only cold certainty.
"We don’t have much time left."
