Marvel : Starting by Copying Wolverine's Power
Chapter 318: Black Swan
Levi turned toward Tony.
"Weren’t you always talking about building a system capable of monitoring the Multiverse? Start now."
Tony blinked, then grinned.
"You mean combining the technology of the Council of Kangs with Mother Box tech?"
Levi nodded.
"Exactly. I want an eye that can detect every dimensional rupture."
Tony snapped his fingers.
"Leave it to me."
He immediately headed for the laboratory.
Suddenly, the Eye of Agamotto on Strange’s forehead began pulsing violently.
His expression changed.
"Wait."
Everyone turned toward him.
Strange closed his eyes.
The Eye opened fully, golden light pouring from it.
He was divining.
A few seconds later, he opened his eyes again.
His face had gone pale.
"Something is coming."
Levi paused.
Ever since reaching a multiversal level of power, he had largely stopped paying attention to minor fluctuations in space-time.
"What is it?"
Strange took a deep breath.
"It’s not targeting us."
He looked up.
"It’s coming from a nearby parallel universe. Someone is forcibly crossing dimensional barriers."
The moment he finished speaking—
The entire Void Fortress trembled.
Not physically.
Space itself was shaking.
Levi instantly appeared at the edge of the fortress.
Clark, Thor, Strange, Wanda, and everyone else followed.
Then they saw it.
Above the central plaza, a purple-black rift was tearing open.
Strange energy flowed along its edges like living flesh.
Then a figure shot out of it.
Boom!
The impact blasted a crater ten meters wide into the plaza.
The dust settled.
A woman rose from the center of the crater.
She wore a black-and-white bodysuit.
Tall.
Elegant.
Arrogant.
She raised her head and swept her gaze across the gathered Avengers.
Her eyes were filled with contempt.
Levi didn’t move.
He stood quietly at the edge of the fortress, watching her climb out.
Clark hovered in the air, silver-white radiance building around him.
Thor tightened his grip on Stormbreaker.
Lightning crackled along the axe.
The Eye of Agamotto opened wider as golden energy gathered around Strange.
Wanda hugged Adam tightly while Chaos Magic swirled around her fingertips.
The woman brushed dust from her uniform and looked up.
Her eyes were completely black.
No whites.
Just two bottomless voids.
She scanned the crowd.
Then a mocking smile appeared.
"Inferior lifeforms."
Her voice was cold and dripping with superiority.
"You insects are still struggling?"
Tony’s faceplate flipped open.
"Who the hell is this?"
Natasha tightened her grip on her pistol.
"No idea."
"But she doesn’t seem friendly."
The woman stepped forward.
The black-and-white suit began glowing.
An eerie energy spread from her body.
"I am Black Swan."
"Yabbat Ummon Turru."
She raised her right hand.
A black sphere appeared above her palm.
"I come from a universe that has already died."
Her gaze settled on Levi.
"And yours is next."
Clark floated forward.
"Are you here to warn us?"
Black Swan laughed.
"Warn you?"
She shook her head.
"No."
Her smile widened.
"I’m here to clean up."
The black sphere expanded into a three-meter-wide mass of energy.
"The Death of Everything is an irreversible destiny."
She stared at Levi.
"You inferior creatures don’t deserve to survive until the end."
Then she hurled the sphere.
Its target—
Wanda and Adam.
Clark vanished instantly and appeared in front of the attack.
His hands grabbed the sphere.
But the force exceeded his expectations.
He was pushed backward.
Thor swung Stormbreaker.
Lightning crashed into the sphere.
Cracks spread across its surface.
But it didn’t break.
Strange formed a series of hand seals.
Golden magical arrays appeared around the sphere.
Its speed slowed.
Yet it continued advancing.
Wanda retreated while holding Adam.
Chaos Magic formed layers of shields around her.
Black Swan remained where she stood, her face full of disdain.
"See?"
"This is your limit."
She raised her left hand.
Another black sphere began forming.
"Allow me to end this farce."
Levi moved.
He didn’t charge.
Didn’t fly forward.
He simply looked at her.
Golden-red light flowed from his eyes.
Black Swan froze.
Completely.
Her body remained locked in the motion of raising her arm.
Her eyes widened.
The arrogance on her face transformed into shock.
She tried to speak.
Her mouth wouldn’t move.
She tried to move.
Her body refused to obey.
Levi calmly walked forward.
Clark, Thor, and Strange all relaxed.
The black energy sphere, having lost its controller, began shrinking.
Moments later it dissipated into nothingness.
Levi stopped in front of Black Swan.
"Inferior creatures?"
His voice was calm.
"You’re the first person who’s dared say that to my face."
He raised his right hand and pressed it against her forehead.
Golden-red energy poured into her mind.
Black Swan’s body trembled violently.
She wanted to resist.
But Levi’s power pressed down like a mountain.
Her consciousness was torn open.
Memories flipped before him like pages in a book.
Levi saw her past.
He saw how her universe had died.
He saw the Beyonders’ experiments.
He saw the beings known as Molecule Men.
And then he saw another name.
Rabum Alal.
The Great Destroyer.
A being hunting Molecule Men.
Levi frowned.
He had never heard the name before.
Yet from Black Swan’s memories, he could tell one thing.
This entity was powerful.
Powerful enough that even the Beyonders were wary of him.
Levi withdrew his hand.
Black Swan collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air.
She looked up at him.
Pure fear filled her eyes.
"W-What are you?"
Levi ignored the question.
Instead, he turned toward Tony.
"Lock her up."
Tony blinked.
"Where?"
Levi thought for a moment.
"Build a prison beneath the fortress."
His gaze returned to Black Swan.
"She still has value."
Natasha stepped forward carrying a pair of specially designed restraints.
"Vibranium."
She smirked.
"Should hold her."
Black Swan didn’t resist.
At this point she didn’t even have the strength to stand.
Natasha cuffed her and led her away.
Levi remained standing where he was.
His mind replayed everything he had just seen.
The Beyonders.
The Molecule Men.
Rabum Alal.
The pieces were beginning to fit together.
And they revealed something much larger than he’d expected.
Clark flew over.
"What did you see?"
Levi exhaled slowly.
"Trouble."
Then he turned toward the conference room.
"Get everyone together."
"We need a new plan."
---
Black Swan sat collapsed inside her cell, breathing heavily.
She looked at Levi with terror in her eyes.
The sensation of having her mind ripped open was worse than death.
Meanwhile, Levi stood silently with his eyes closed.
The memories continued playing through his mind.
One image after another.
He saw how Black Swan’s universe had been destroyed.
Two Earths collided.
The entire universe collapsed within eight hours.
She watched her home, her people, and her civilization vanish into nothingness.
Later, she was rescued by a mysterious organization and became one of its agents.
She traveled from universe to universe.
Whenever two Earths were destined to collide, she would eliminate one beforehand.
She called it purification.
Levi continued digging deeper.
Then he saw the Beyonders’ experiment.
Those lofty beings treated the Multiverse as a chessboard.
Civilizations were merely game pieces.
In every universe, they placed a unique lifeform known as a Molecule Man.
These beings possessed the ability to manipulate molecular structures.
But that wasn’t their true purpose.
They were bombs.
Whenever two universes collided, the Molecule Men would detonate.
Accelerating the collapse.
The Beyonders were conducting a selection process.
Searching for the strongest civilizations.
The perfect universe.
Everything else was discarded.
Destroyed.
Levi frowned.
This was even worse than he had imagined.
Then he saw another name.
Rabum Alal.
The Great Destroyer.
In Black Swan’s memories, he was an enigma.
No one knew who he was.
Or where he came from.
Only one thing was known.
He hunted Molecule Men.
Whenever a Molecule Man died, the corresponding universe lost its detonation trigger.
However, it also became unstable.
Black Swan had encountered him once.
At the edge of a dying universe.
Rabum Alal stood in the void.
He wore a green cloak.
A metal mask concealed his face.
He raised one hand.
A wave of energy swept outward.
The Molecule Man of that universe instantly turned to ash.
Then Rabum Alal left.
Without a word.
Black Swan had attempted to follow.
But an invisible force had thrown her away.
She could feel it.
His power exceeded her understanding.
Levi opened his eyes.
Rabum Alal.
He memorized the name.
A being hunting creations of the Beyonders.
Either an enemy of his enemies—
Or an even greater threat.
Either way, Levi intended to meet him.
---
Clark approached again.
"What did you see?"
Levi took a deep breath.
"Trouble."
Then he turned toward Tony.
"Keep her alive."
Tony frowned.
"Where exactly are we putting her?"
Levi thought for a moment.
"A prison beneath the fortress."
"Vibranium and Uru alloy construction."
"Add energy barriers."
He glanced toward Black Swan’s cell.
"I’ll remove her powers myself."
"She still has uses."
Natasha nodded.
"Understood."
Black Swan offered no resistance as she was escorted away.
Levi stared into the distance.
Thor approached.
Stormbreaker rested on his shoulder.
"What are you planning?"
Levi looked at him.
"We take the initiative."
Thor blinked.
"And go where?"
Levi pointed upward.
"In Black Swan’s memories, there’s a place called the Library of Worlds."
He paused.
"It records the knowledge of the entire Multiverse."
"I intend to go there and find information about Rabum Alal."
The Eye of Agamotto pulsed.
Strange’s expression changed.
"The Library of Worlds?"
"I’ve seen that name in the Ancient One’s records."
"It exists in a dimension separate from all universes."
"Only a handful of beings know how to enter."
Levi nodded.
"Black Swan knows."
Then he turned and headed deeper into the fortress.
"I’m going to ask her."
Wanda followed, carrying Adam.
"I’m coming with you."
Levi stopped.
"No."
"It’s too dangerous."
Wanda shook her head.
"Wherever you go, I go."
Levi met her gaze.
After several seconds, he sighed.
"Fine."
"But you follow my lead."
Wanda nodded.
Together, they headed toward the underground prison.
---
Black Swan sat inside a chamber surrounded by layers of energy barriers.
Her head was lowered.
Levi stopped outside the containment field.
"Where is the entrance to the Library of Worlds?"
Black Swan looked up.
"You want to go there?"
Levi nodded.
"Tell me."
She laughed.
"You think I’d just tell you?"
Levi said nothing.
Golden-red light appeared in his palm.
He was clearly prepared to tear through her memories again.
Black Swan’s face immediately changed.
"Wait."
Levi stopped.
"Talk."
Black Swan inhaled deeply.
"The entrance lies within a dimensional intersection called the Crossroads."
"A gap between realities."
"The place where all universes meet."
She hesitated.
"But you won’t get inside."
"The Library has guardians."
"Only those it acknowledges may enter."
Levi smiled.
"Then I’ll make them acknowledge me."
He turned and left.
Wanda followed behind him.
"You really plan to go?"
Levi nodded.
"I have to."
"Rabum Alal is important."
"If he’s truly hunting Molecule Men, then maybe we can work together."
He paused.
"And even if we can’t, I need to know who he is and what he wants."
Wanda squeezed his hand.
"Then I’ll go with you."
Levi smiled.
"Good."
---
The two returned to the conference room.
Everyone was waiting.
Levi stopped at the head of the table.
"I’m going to the Library of Worlds."
Tony’s faceplate opened immediately.
"Wait."
"You mean the legendary one?"
Levi nodded.
"Yes."
"There’s information there that I need."
Steve stood up.
"We’re coming with you."
Levi shook his head.
"No."
"You stay here and defend the fortress."
His gaze shifted toward Clark.
"Clark."
"You’ll be in command."
"If anything unusual happens, contact me immediately."
Clark nodded.
"Understood."
Levi turned toward Wanda.
"Ready?"
She nodded.
The two walked toward the edge of the fortress.
Levi raised his right hand.
Golden-red light blossomed in his palm.
Space twisted.
A rift tore open before them.
Beyond it stretched endless darkness.
Wanda took a deep breath and tightened her grip on Levi’s hand.
Together, they stepped through.
The rift closed behind them.
Silence settled over the Void Fortress.
Tony turned toward Clark.
"What do you think they’ll find?"
Clark slowly shook his head.
"I don’t know."
He stared at the spot where the rift had vanished.
"But I’m sure of one thing."
"The power waiting in that direction is older than anything we’ve ever encountered."
